You can tell that that is a very early production model because the tailcone is pointed later models had the beaver tail cone I worked on those aircraft as a mechanic for McDonald Douglas so that brings back memories for me anyways
Also what kind of engine does that thing have lunch again I worked on those at McDonald Douglas and that does not look like a Pratt & Whitney JT8D-217 The engine cowlings are completely different almost like the one she would see on an MD 90 and that is an MD90 Anyways just asking I still remember a few things from these old aircraft
This is an older video of this aircraft, I was positively surprised a couple of months ago, where I found this plane totally cleaned up from the outside!
Hi attben. There are several days in a year when they have "open doors" on that airport, so you can get on the plane and have it explained to you if you are interested.
I loved working on those planes. Very mechanical, very simple.
i love to have an dc10 in my back yard i do have a big heart for the md80

It’s “McDonnell Douglas”
@@trickyz3609 Ronald McDonnell 😁
So cool! I want one in my backyard LOL! My fantasy is to buy a hundred of these and start my own airline :) - Red
The only places were you could see most of these aircrath flying are in atlanta, miami, fort loradale and San Martín.
I just want to touch one of its wings and sit in one of the pilot seats before I die. That's all.
Saddened view to see one of legendary aircraft sits on remote field, looking weary and abandoned, have no wings to fly freely again.

The boy explaining looks competent and for sure Charming...is he a pilot now?

@@craftforceXL awesome thank you :)
Is that MD-80 no longer flying?
NO, it no longer flies. The plane is parked in MBX for years, engines removed...
At least, Delta still operates this plane.
@WPLU572 Trunked Radio there are still 28 left for American
The MD-90 is the king of md80 families. Its the mad Pit Bull
“World’s Quietest MD-80?” What kind of Super-80 is this? Quiet and MD-80 aren’t supposed to be in the same sentence 😂
Actually, this MD-80 was a testbed for a newer hushkit system designed for the aircraft to be more compatible with Chapter 4 noise restrictions.
Malik Howell Ah gotcha
Are they speaking in Russian language??
Nope, Slovenian language.
