You are not alone don’t worry, I’m 38 and have very little savings. A few years ago we were in an extortionate amount of debt and we have been working to pay it off (very nearly done 🎉) my plan is to put whatever we’ve been paying to that into savings to boost us up to where we should be. It’s hard being an adult 😂

Beth, I’m 45 next week (26th July) and I’m still learning. Love your videos. ❤

Hi Beth. Just want to say that you are not alone! I Think a lot of us searching the internet for finance, savings, debt payoff, see a lot of pages/profiles with people that have payed tens of thousands of debts off AND now have huge savings after that.
You are 27. You and your fiance OWN your home. You work, you Can feed your family, you Can pay your bills! I Think you are doing so much better than a lot of people. ✨
I am so Happy i found your channel, so much more relatable to me.
Would you mind sharing your Weekly foodshops? I use approx. 700 danish kroners, which convert to about 70 pounds, but could use some inspiration. (And sorry for any grammatical errors 😅)

Omggg we’re the same age! I’ll have just turned 29 in Jan 2026 😂 I’m so glad I found a CZcamsr the same age talking about finances bc the 20s are pure chaos 😂 I feel like I had a late start too bc I got a masters and didn’t start really making money until 24. I’m doing the opposite if you - hoping to have 3mo in emergency savings by the end of this year and have credit card debt paid off by 29. Just as a single person living away from family the savings will give me way more peace of mind than avoiding a few hundred in interest payments

I'm 37 and I don't have 3 months of expenses saved! My salary stagnated for 6 years so with inflation etc that really destroyed any hope of savings what little savings I did have went on my wedding, the baby, my husband re-training so taking time out of work or emergency house repairs. Last year I switched careers and I have now finally been able to save despite childcare being so high. I have used a method where any salary increase I put that additional money straight into savings so I don't get the lifestyle creep.

This sound like a nice plan!
I do own a home and am really proud of myself for that, but I do not have a lot of savings. I'm 27, very soon to be 28, and is currently working on changing that as well, maybe in a little more extreme way. I do want to achieve financial freedom, so that I can have more time to do what I love doing!

I wish you wouldn't be so hard on yourself. From someone on the outside loking in you are doing really well (although I understand how it feels if the point of reference is ridiculously overpaid finance influencers etc). You are in your twenties with real expences AND you're raising a child! You're working very hard, with multiple income streams and you have a plan for your finances going forward. I think you're way ahead of most people your age. Give yourself some grace, you're doing great and setting such good examples for your daughter 🙂

Such exciting things coming up for you! Won’t you also get 30hours childcare for your daughter in September? That should help a bit too! Xx
