Over the years you’ve taught me to make fire, reload shotshells, make traps, set up tarps, hang hammocks, tie the knots I need to know, and many other things along the way. And now you’re just making me hungry.🤣 Love it keep up the great content. Thanks for everything
Reminds me when grandma use to make sugar and cinnamon donuts back in the late 70's,she used biscuits and cut the center out and made donuts and donut holes,we all enjoyed them thanks Dave for reintroducing a favorite from the past and still popular today.
If I start making outdoor donuts at the camp, I won’t be getting any hunting or fishing done. This outdoor cooking series is really good. Sweets in the woods is what I’m usually missing so this one resonates with me.
Came here a while ago for the knots but am digging these cooking videos. We all need to prep and cooking food to eat is one of those preps. No reason we can't eat well and know how to tie a bowline knot. Alex the French Guy cooking would be proud. Thank you so much for your content.
Those look better than the ones we make from refrigerator biscuits, that's for sure. I used to buy mini doughnuts from a Down's syndrome fellow who had a little machine that would make them. He would set up under a tent on the edge of a gas station parking lot by the highway, and he always had a line of people. I always thought it was neat that he was running his own little business and doing quite well. Then one day, he was gone and I don't know whatever happened to him.
Great donuts. Add a little cinnamon to the coating, yum. Use powdered sugar and a cup of coffee and you have a New Orleans breakfast. Dave, More folks are asking for a cookbook, you may have created a monster. You really are not making just camp food, but are sharing some great old "down home" cooking, from different places. This series also proves my long standing point, MEN MAKE GREAT COOKS, sorry ladies. ;-)
Hello David . Your donuts was so fluffy inside . Now every one going . To make these easy donuts . Yum yum donuts and coffee . Have A Great Evening . You And Family .
Dang you Dave! Awesome recipe and shadow says Hi 👋 and finally available just placed an order for the pathfinder bushcraft titanium pot👍😉now waiting for it to arrive and put it to use in the field lol
Going to have to make these at work I camp out all week cutting logs tarp and a bed roll with your skillet is about all the comfort items I bring other then fuel and oil for the saws so some doughnuts would be really nice to break up the spam and beans or whatever I find in the woods
man i love your table top burner set up. too cool. i hope you don't mind but i snapped a picture of it.i have an extra burner and i can utilize it for table top
Dave, those donuts look delicious. I make bread (and waffles) with yeast, but haven’t tried donuts yet, need to add them to my list. If you’re looking to make mead, you’ve got to check out Brian and Derica over at CitySteading. They, like you, keep things simple, but delicious.
dave dont worry about making mead stuffs simple been doing it since before i shoulda XD super simple process and pretty bulletproof to start brewing with
doubt if you will see this, but you should try a video of Chips Mayai. basically a french fry/egg omelet with what ever else you want to throw in. easy, quick, delicious and never the same twice. stuff is great.
Uncle dave still rockin the cooking video's.horace kephart would be proud.and mors is smiling also.nessmuck is smiling also.and john wayne fears!!!!!🦌🕶️
Mead maker here! I don't use any heat in my brews, and just pitch the yeast straight into my must with great results. There's at least a thousand ways to skin that cat, sir! Find what works for you, and have fun brewing!
Don't worry brewing in general but especially Mead is fairly easy to make just make sure to sterilize everything so the yeast doesn't have any competiton. Sources My grandpa taught me to brew at 10ish wanted to pass on the skill; eternally grateful he did but I gaurentee you'll be fine Dave.
Ya just great Canterbury , I’m so hungry right now I could eat the azz hole out of a road kill skunk, and your mak’n hot chocolate and homemade donuts , while I’m on a stupid diet, now were’s mine ! 👍😄

It's in the transcript
Good to see Zahn supervising this video. It's how we all know the video was done right.

Much fancier than what we do for breakfast when camping.
For all the reasons I'd draft Dave as my number one pick for Apocalypse buddy, this is number one.
Those look better than the ones we make from refrigerator biscuits, that's for sure.

Delicious! Chop an apple in the next batch! Awesome 👍👍👍
Now heres a meal I will show up for!
I actually love Dave. He’s a never ending fountain of knowledge and if I was ever lucky enough to meet, I’d proudly consider a friend.
I know man, people like dave are so rare now. Lucky for me I live in Ohio, just need to get up there and take a class
Gotta save this, SALUTE AND GOD BLESS!😎

They look delicious, Dave😋
Hello I can say is God bless self-reliance outfitters I like your products too I've got a few of them
Yum! Definitely try this recipe. I might add a little mace spice to it. Bakeries use it for donuts.
Going to have to make these at work I camp out all week cutting logs tarp and a bed roll with your skillet is about all the comfort items I bring other then fuel and oil for the saws so some doughnuts would be really nice to break up the spam and beans or whatever I find in the woods

Great video,
Looks good!
now all that's missin' is some blackberry filling
I've been making mead for 20 yrs. 👍😊
AWESOME!
Thanks Dave. This will be a lot cheaper than buying from Donut King
When I make my mead I’ll use raisins as the “food” for the yeast.
I used to make mead when I was in Afghanistan. Yeast honey(sugar) and water are easy to come by. It's definitely good to know how to make alcohol.
Thanks Dave
That looks yummy
Uncle dave still rockin the cooking video's.horace kephart would be proud.and mors is smiling also.nessmuck is smiling also.and john wayne fears!!!!!🦌🕶️

Great for Scout camp
Mead maker here! I don't use any heat in my brews, and just pitch the yeast straight into my must with great results. There's at least a thousand ways to skin that cat, sir! Find what works for you, and have fun brewing!
I've also made many batches of mead....be careful...the taste is amazing but the bite will get ya.
Yummyyy 😋
Hey, when will you be at Smokey Mountain Knife Works in October?
Mead is easy, only need a few ingredients....if its rough, just wait a year

Dave! Have you tried cornbread doughnuts yet? So damn good and easy.
I can watch you eat all day. 😳
On today's episode of cooking with Dave :)
No holes? Heresy!
Where's the whole
Bear Sign. 😀 I thought there had to be a source of fat, like milk,to make hot coco'.
Now do it with sourdough.😁
With as much "clean up" as Zhan does around the outfitters kitchen, Im supprised he is as thin as he is.
What ever happened to rufus?
Hit by a truck 3 years ago
Ya just great Canterbury , I’m so hungry right now I could eat the azz hole out of a road kill skunk, and your mak’n hot chocolate and homemade donuts , while I’m on a stupid diet, now were’s mine ! 👍😄
Ah, mead, not meat!
You could have done all that by hand ,you know
Meat brewing kit..
