I really like being able to keep the fish in the water while I’m dealing with them since I bought a deeper net. More often than not I’ve found it’s the larger ones that seem to struggle to recover.
Deep rubber nets help too. The bigger ones don't seem to burp as easy as the small ones. Having a descending device is always a last resort
Looks like excellent conditions, and the lakers were very cooperative. Nice video.
Thank you!
Nice, I ice fish lake Simcoe for big lakers and the wild ones just have better colour and glow to them, even though stockers have spent years feeding on the same forage…
Must be a different strain then the wild ones is my guess
So awesome keep the vids coming!!! What lake is that?
Thank you and Champlain
You gotta come fish Chazy Lake, definitely wont disappoint and not too far from Champlain
Same average size or bigger?
Hey man, love the videos! Random question- what boat are you running? I'm hoping to upgrade mine soon and really can't decide if I want tiller or not or what brand/model.. Thoughts?
2001 alumacraft v16 lunker with a 50 HP tohatsu 4 stroke. The tiller is nice I can fish from one spot in the boat and gives me more room
@@BendItFishing do you ever wish you had a windshield that you could close when it's cold or breezy? That's the only real argument I have for a non-tiller.
@kirkesplin7292 of course
You ever fish Lake Willoughby??? There are some world class lakers in there! Talk about Monsters!!
I haven't yet but it's on the list!
@@BendItFishing North end to middle! Just below the boat launch! Seen fish through the ice way over across from the boat launch. Sandy bottom over there and the Smelt hang over there as well!
Just fished there a couple weeks ago. There’s no structure on willoughby like in New Hampshire…just steep drop offs. It’s better off trolling on willoughby. As someone who fishes willoughby, winnepesaukee, sunapee, etc.
You using livescope?
@@BendItFishing nope. I havnt made that investment yet. And honestly chirp works perfect for me locating fish. I was killing it for steelhead, salmon and lakers on willoughby and I was fishing winnepesaukee last weekend getting salmon and lakers. I use my knowledge of fish behavior and drive around areas and either mark or don’t but I notice depth patterns
