please review samsung tab and ipad. thanks!
Hey I'm using A55 5G 12+256 GB and can confirm it supports eSIM.
Are you joking???
This is 90% of the flagship for 50% of the flagship price. I love it!!
Only downside is it's 50% of the flagship's CPU performance, but otherwise it's tremendous value. They need to work on the CPU, though.
If you want better value buy the last year model, a54. Best bang for your buck
Except the cam, the proc, the ram, the storage, etc.
@@gitmemed2668 cam and proc yes but it gets 12GB RAM and 256GB storage for this price which is pretty good
No. They cheapen it with an Exynos mid range SOC. Slap in one of MediaTek or Snapdragon's SOC and maybe you have a chance.
I'm watching this on my Galaxy A55! I've been using this phone for a week now and it's really awesome! Flagship feels, (also feels like you're holding an iPhone because of the built) solid built, battery and power efficient, awesome cameras and screen display (the cameras here are into more natural shot both front and back) very smooth animations and stable video recording. This phone is not really for heavy gamers, but it can still handle it properly. It's a more well-balanced smartphone for everyday use and you'll be satisfied with this phone. It also goes with your style!
Thanks for the feedback. Was planning on buying this as well. You've just confirmed it.
Does the A55 work on Verizon?
I just bought it,the gaming is nice it also has a gaming mode where you choose settings and helping with performance, but I don't play too heavy games to be honest
I was planning to get this phone on Saturday. This is exactly the feedback that I need. LOL
It really is a great phone! I’m extremely impressed
I'm still using A51 since 2020... Still a solid phone, only downside is battery life
Same. The battery really sucks now but it still works really well. The problem is I don't have enough storage and that is why I need a new phone. A51 is way slimmer and lightweight compared to the A55. I really don't care about the "premium feel", plastic back for me all the way.
Sameee, battery sucks it cant even last 1 day with light gaming and just using it. Im thinking of buying a poco x6 pro, a good gaming phone with ok camera's(better than a51), overall, everything about the poco x6 pro is basically an upgrade over the a51
For real! Mine is A52 5g and I've been using it for more than 2 years, no lagging at all! But I wanna change it no because A55 look so premium.
I upgraded to this from the A51 and let me tell you, there is a TREMENDOUS difference, the performance, camera, display, charging, build quality, but honestly, the biggest difference for me was the speakers, it is an upgrade and 20 half's. If you have the money this is the phone yo upgrade to from the A51, especially since they stopped updating it
What do you guys think about the iphone 12 pro? Should i switch to that phone? Or should i go with the poco x6 pro/ redmi note 13 pro+
samsung dropped the ball not making a U.S version, everyone would of bought it!
They REALLY just want people to buy the S24 or S23 FE
And that’s why they didn’t release it there, would have eat into s23 fe and s24 base sales
It'll probably be available later on this year.
Samsung wants to compete more with apple in the US & for that they need to sell more S series
*would _have_
5:28 There's a mistake in the video. Samsung Galaxy A55 has eSIM onboard. So you can use 1 physical nano-SIM, 1 eSIM and add MicroSD card (instead of second physical nano-SIM) at the same time. Or use 2 physical nano-SIM cards (without MicroSD and without eSIM).
There aren't a lot of phones that offer you using 2 SIMs (physical + eSIM) and MicroSD at the same time. Most of mid-range and high-end phones (that come with eSIM technology) don't even have MicroSD extension.
P.S. Support of eSIM technology depends on market regions. Some regions do have support of eSIM, some don't. So watch region and specs before buying.
I saw GSM Arena's review of the A55. It seems to have improved a lot. I'm surprised it passed the stress test.
I miss the days when phones came with a charger, headphones and sometimes a transparent case. These days led by Samsung and Apple - manufacturers have been stingy with the accessories. Stop giving a sim card remover for God sakes who needs a pokey pin and tons of paper work when everyone has a pin and a QR code can solve the need for all the paper work....hate it how it's fully commercial at the large tech companies....before some environmental nerd says "oh who needs a charger, it's bad for the environment" I want to point out most "sane" people keep a phone for atleast a few years and getting a charger & a headphone jack and headphones would be nice so in 2 years or 3 years when the charger is bust then you can start planning for an upgrade. How is shipping tons of paperwork & launching a new phone every few months and the carbon footprint of manufacturing and shipping these globally smaller than giving a charger in the box...rant over.
from where I bought it they gave me the charger for free as a gift, so I didn't even think about that
@@GameOver-nm2uswell you muat be receiving a cheap shit adapter😂😂😂
Tf I need a charger, headphones, and case for? I don't need a new charger for every phone I buy, and I do not need headphones. The case will yellow after a year, so I will throw it out. Good thing that phone manufacturers stopped including so much crap.
@littlefeetvampire no, it's the official Samsung 25W adapter
Most people dont need chargers. We have drawers full. You want one? 😅
I am using A52s , sadly Samsung forgot to make such great devices in this price range.
I still have my Galaxy A53 5G I got on sale last year. It's still snappy and has a vibrant color screen! Samsung has been pumping out some amazing mid range phones lately.
4 years of updates seals the deal for me. Ill get this next year when its price go down a bit 😅
Just bought this today since my pixel 6 died after Android 14 update. Im very happy with the a55
Esim standard offer here in Thailand so check which model you buy to get dual Sim, Esim and storage slot options. Very handy 😊
My understsnding is that the international version sold in India and SE Asia has eSIM plus hybrid dual physical SIM, which is one physical Sim on top of tray and either a second physical Sim or a microsdxc on bottom of tray.
The version in Australia is eSIM plus one physical Sim on top of tray and microsdxc on bottom of tray.
I've been waiting for this video!
Oh m g omg omg am soooo happy to see u did it review of a55 this phone i waiting ur review about this phone am confused between a54 vs a55 buy it or not but unfortunately its not launched in pakistan till now 😢
Currently watching this on my a55. Very impressed with the build quality!
Am in love with it already 😍
Coming from an s20fe whos battery is struggling to last a day, im happy with this device.
It feels as fast, I dont really play games but the OS is smooth, havent noticed any stutter.
The battery is great, as isnthenscreen and the fact it has an SD card slot means I can fill it with movies and music as thats what I usually consume on my device.
£280 with years of updates and a 2 year warranty and im happy enough.
Does the A55 give full full control of flash in all camera shooting modes? Like do you have flash available in 50 mp resolution in low as well as bright lighting?
I am watching this vídeo on an A54 with 8Gb ram and 256 storage .. glad to say its working out well
lol same.
Hi Wade. I'm thinking of buying an A55 in the next days. My S7 Edge has an issue. It opens with a Samsung S7 edge greeting, it goes to the main menu but very soon shuts down. Reopens, a new Samsung S7 Edge greeting and then shuts down once again. I don't really know if it's a battery problem (battery warms up). Once it shuts down, it won't open again until the battery is completely drained and a new charge cycle begins so it opens and starts the same problem. I have to go to a technician to see what causes that and fix it. 7 years of use for S7 Edge came to an end? Soon I'll get to see what kind of issue is going on.
13:56 I've got one of these on its way. I'm upgrading from an A53, which has been fine for everything I need. I would like a better camera, but I can't have everything The A55 looks nice too. I'm a sucker for pretty colours 😁
I can't afford the more expensive ranges. I mainly use my phone for social media, emails, web browsing, games and photos.
Ive still got my a51, not sure if the software updates did something but takes impressive photos better than my sister's s21+
Had an s9+ in Lilac purple back in the day it was an awesome color lol.
Those days😢
The next a56 should replace the fe in America. Bring back the headphone jack, keep the micro sd slot, put a charger in the box the next a56 would fly of the shelves and if they ditch the s24fe wouldn’t eat into them sales next one up would be the base s model which would have more features like dex to justify the higher price
This looks super cool congrats 😎
Thinking of getting this phone ?? ... why not get second hand s21 ultra for 400 ...absolute beast of a phone .. still getting updates and all .. camera is unbelievable aswell ..
I am in this dillema idk what to do...
@interesting8214 well I can't recommend this phone enough.. all up to date with latest software build quality is amazing too 👌
OnePlus 12r is $400. That has a much better Snapdragon 8 gen 2 in it
Not everyone is ok with buying used things, that's why. If you don't care then a old flagship is the best choise. Personally I preffer to shop for a new phone that I'm sure will last at least 3 years headache free.
i might not get the a55 but i love the lilac colours
I returned my s24 plus because the speakers and battery were terrible. Bought this a55 and it really is a good phone so far, quality build and great speakers and battery which I value more than QHD screen. Your reviews are excellent btw Wade! Love from UK 🇬🇧 😊
Was the s24 plus speakers so bad? And how much better are the speakers in the a55? :)
@@TheDane422 yes the s24 plus speakers were such a disappointment after the s23s. The sound was so muffled and tinny and the volume was very weak. The a55 speakers are loud, richer and more bass!
Just get a small & good Bluetooth speaker
Nah this gotta be A series propaganda😂😂😂
@@lavendersage4476 no, funnily enough I've found several a series phones have had superior speakers to my flagship Samsungs
Are the viewing angles better on this one compared to last year's a54?😅 Cause my a54 has terrible viewing angles, tilting the screen ever so slightly gives it a blue/green cast. And does the screen appear grainy sometimes?
Gonna hang onto my A54 and see what the A56 will bring to the table. Love the new premium built but spec-wise, not worth the upgrade. Hopefully we get a new camera setup, telephoto instead of macro, bigger battery with 45w charging like the upcoming M55 or at least wireless charging next year with the A56. Would appreciate it Samsung drop that bizarre looking "Key Island" too!
Could they put a second speaker where the headphones jack used to be ? Personally I'd love that.
Bought mine thru Samsung Australia 128g came with single sim with SD slot + ESim. Special deal with Samsung got $140 trade in on A52 and Galaxy Buds FE. AUD559
I bought the A54 a few days ago for about 40% less than the price of an A55, as the improvements seemed incremental. It sounds like I probably made the right choice. Having said that, coming from an A71, I was surprised at how thick and heavy these phones are! I feel like I am carrying a brick 😂 I am pleased with it other than that.
You are, at this moment, better value is 54.
About damn time
A55 specs is catching up to my Pixel 7 when it comes to specs. I'm looking forward to when a midtier device outperforms a 3 year old "flagship" - possibly with the Galaxy A56
I've been waiting for you to review the A55 since it got released, I think I'm now ready for an upgrade from the A34
Why upgrade though? Don't fall into hype and just save the money lol
One plus 7t was the one and only true Macro lense tech worthy. I kept mine for this reason. Lol.
When you make the review after a few weeks comment on how the performance is. Specially with the animations cause they suck in the A series, mainly when you're using gesture navigation; a lot of frame drops and lag
Would you consider comparing to the a52 5g for people like me that didnt upgrade to a a53/a54
How is the virtual proximity sensor on this A55?
Great video and great phone
I just got the S24 Ultra
Would I recommend it to someone else? No. It's an overkill. I bought it because I missed my Note 2 and I planned to use it for at least 5 years (aiming for 7 haha)
But this, A55? Grab it. This is really good
Will the A55 work on Verizon's system ?
Has there been any over heat issues with this phone yet ?
Awesome! 💜
The funniest thing is: The Brazilian version come with a 15w charger and if I remember correctly support eSIM
The versions available here in Brazil is: 8/128GB and 8/256GB
In fact, in Brazil there is a costumer law that doesn't allow any product to not being selled without something that is important for the product to work, and the charger is included on this (and this is why iPhones are banned here). So yeah, almost every Samsung model come with a charger (Galaxy S and Galaxy Z come with a 25w charger)
How is the band compatible with the u s bands since it is not being released in the us market. Will it work with all three carriers or will there missing bands?
Only works on tmobile, and even then it's missing some bands.
So this is a ymmw situation. Stevelicious says he has no problems with it on tmobile and can get 5g.
Since the A34 was admittedly better than the A54 of yesteryear, compare the A34 to the A55. Would be interesting to see if the Dimensity 1080 is even more powerful than the 1480, just like it was with the 1380 last year 👍
The dimensity was only really better because of temperatures and battery. In terms of raw performance, they were almost on par with each other. I would definitely say the A34 was "better" overall but not necessarily more powerful. Software updates also make a big difference when it comes to chipset performance and optimization, so it's possible that an A54 performs even better for gaming nowadays.
Exynos 1480 should also be quite a bit faster than the Dimensity 1080 considering there's almost a 200k overall difference concerning Antutu scores. 540k on Dimensity 1080 vs 720k on Exynos 1480. But benchmark tests aren't always reliable. However, A55's chipset is a noticeable improvement in all areas over the A54 and the A34 according to a few videos I've seen from other YT channels like NL Tech and whatnot (take that with a grain of salt).
Battery life is at least on par with the Dimensity 1080, if not superior by quite a decent margin and has no heating issues as far I'm concerned.
Techmo, another YT channel, has done tests on this on his most recent videos regarding A55's battery.
The galaxy s35 is a downgrade from the a34 considering they used the same exynos 1380 from the a54
A34 better than 54? Are you on drugs? In what universe? Maybe in your world.
Ngl this isnt true...I used both A54 and A34....exynos is mile better than dimensity 1080...only subpar in battery na gaming otherwise there is no way dimensity 1080 is better than ezynos 1380
Awesome video! Please weigh in- Brand new A55 or pristine S22ULTRA for just under 150 USD more? (From a legit online store with a one year warranty).
I don't game and no social media (unless you count YT) But battery life is a big priority for me .
I get battery anxiety lol, I'm using an S7 that I got used 2 years ago and the battery is kaka. I get 4 hours on power saving mode.
It really looks like my lavender galaxy S23 at a distance. 🤣🤣🤣
Can i ask if has adapter included?
i get that you love blur, but it gets in the way a lot when your depth of field is 1 cm wide
If they arent making it available for the US then whats the alternative gonna be? Is it gonna be the flagship S series at a discounted price or a totally completely new series? Would they make the FE cheaper?
Most likely an S24 FE will be introduced..
I think they will create regular sales on S23 FE for 400-450 in the US like they did on Black Friday.
... maybe its the A35.
They will probally raise the A35 price so the S24FE will look like the best bang for buck.
Honestly the design top and bottom doesn't look too big at all what are fans talking about😮
Really people act like they watch the bezel not the screen
Man, I want the A55! I don't want to have to get the A35 in the US, because my A54 is basically an A35, and the S23 FE is a little too rxpensive for me, plus I like the A55 size better and the SD card slot. I want to upgrade to the A55, but Samsung killed that because of their greed and wanting me to buy an S23 FE. Why make it if they don't want to sell it to us?! I'm angry as a Samsung customer.
Because iPhone is 75% of the US market
12:40 YES!
Nice try, but but; Those thick bezels are almost disturbing in 2024. For the price Sammy wants, now days you can get an open box S23fe, which has an optical zoom lens and a flagship SOC.
A bummer they discontinued the A70s series.
I noticed that a55 and a54 were made in India ( at least in our market). Pixel phones this year will also begin production in India. Interestingly Pixel 9 line will look like an iPhone or new Samsung phones. Is it because Samsung and Google are working together?
No, it's because India is the next emerging superpower.
e-sim is available in some A55 models. Check properly
Everyone's complaining about the thick bessels. If you're samsung would you want your lower tier device to look exactly like your highest end one? Cause the a55 with a thin bessel would basically be a s24 lite or somthinfmg the way it would look😂
may glass/glossy back panels cease to exist on mobile phones. This one seems heavy as well which doesnt attract me
I bought 256 GB version, and it has e sim
A couple people are saying it has eSIM..not something I’m seeing on mine but thank you for letting me know. Not sure why there’s a discrepancy
@@TechDailyI thought that was odd considering my A54 has eSIM
@@TechDaily
Wade, your A55 probably came from a country that doesn't support eSIM
Kindly make a comparison video with it and the A545G ... Currently using the A71 but bought the A545G
Coming soon!
I'm using the A71 still also, absolutely love the A71 & thought about getting the A73!,which both for midrange phones basically have a fuller screen!,but I'm considering buying this,i was hoping for at least a 6.6 inch screen & was plesently surprised when we got that,But there's also the M55 I've just seen which seems to have really good specifications!,I'm curious to see if the M55 would be an alternative option?,hopefully Wade can give us the lowdown on that soon?
Samsung's current strategy of focusing on mid-range devices may be limiting their sales potential. By offering older flagship models, such as the S22 and S23 series, at more competitive prices, Samsung could attract more customers who are looking for a balance of affordability and performance. For example, the S22 could be priced at $349, the S22+ at $449, the S23 at $449, and the S23+ at $549. This would make these devices more accessible to a wider range of consumers and could help Samsung increase its market share. Additionally, offering longer software update support, such as the seven years of Android updates for the S24 series, would further enhance the value proposition of these older flagship models and encourage customers to choose Samsung over its competitors. In order to streamline our product line and enhance efficiency, it is recommended that we discontinue the production of the M and F series phones. Additionally, we should reduce the number of models in the A series, focusing primarily on the A0x, A1x, and potentially the A2x models. Eliminating the need for the A3x and A5x models will simplify our offerings and optimize resource allocation.
Also changing the A series to J series is a more sensible option. A0x will become J3,
A1 and A2 series will become J5 and J7 series.
And lastly, Samsung is more looking like Apple
@Icydress301 not in terms of making so many phones that's the only one area they should not completly copy but some what copy get rid of the m and f series and upper a series phones, a0x a1x n a2x are already $200 for cheaper don't need the m and f phones, a3x and a5x could be replaced with selling s22/s23 brand new on there local for a reduced cost, we don't need the fe considering samsung phones go down in cost alot faster, unless they could release a lite model at the sametime as the flagship models because when you release the fe almost a year later the s23 for example already went down in price, releasing the s23 fe in Q1 of 2023 a month later at $599 would've been a much smarter choice, the whole point it it's supposed to be more affordable but what's the point when you could get the s23+ at reduced cost. Samsung needs to do better planning with the fe line or not release it at all. People get confused and if Samsung could clean up there line and get upper mid range terrorist merging with older flagship at reduced cost will reduce stereotypes of Samsung phones being laggy, people start comparing galaxy a series phone to an iPhone and say it's so much faster, if you could get those people's hand on a galaxy s22 that stereotype will end of android phones being so laggy. These are way too many midrange phones that could easily be reduced.
@@Icydress301 in terms of removing stuff, the only aspect that I want Samsung to copy of apple is sell phones like the s22/s22+ and s23/s23+ but at a reduced cost, like a refurbished s22 could be found $250 or less so brand new should be $349, the s23 refurbished is around $400 so brand new should be $500, $399 for the s22+ and $599 for the s23+ they already don't sell the a3x and a5x in the US and that can eliminate the s23 fe, I understand they have to try selling the s23 fe but for future they should release the fe a month later with making it look more like the s series instead of the a series, the s23fe in appreance is so much like the galaxy a3x and a5x, I understand it has to look cheaper than the s23, the s21 fe is a perfect example of how an fe phone should look, since the s23 has symmetrical bezel the fe should've kept the chin of the s21 while having the s23 bezels on the other 3 edge, that chin will differentiate it from the s23 but it should look more premium than $300 phones.
The Samsung Galaxy A55 is literally S24 FE but earlier
But ive been told by a salesperson that this phone supports esim. Is that true?
Pls compare A52/A52s and A55
I'm still using an S22 ultra which is doing fine still😊
I had to choose between this A55 and a slightly used S23 for €460, i've got the S23 since it's far more value for money worthy and it's not bad at all, and yeah the A55 its great and bla bla but think about it, its a last year flagship with snapdragon, battery is absolutely great and yeah, all in all i would choose s23 over A55 anytime since i've tested A55 already
Even comparing the S22 to the A55, the S series still reigns supreme with its superior performance and speed.
@@Sayedazann the thing is s22 is a shithole when we talk about battery and heating issues, i like the dimensions and the feel tho, tough you will keep it in a phone case anyways
@@Sayedazann S22? Really? With SG 8gen1 or Exynos 2200, both of them very bad at everything. The A55 won't overheat in 5 minutes of usage and will sustain max performance for hours.
❤ Best A phone yet
UFS 3.1?
Sumsang A 55 e sim sapot this phone ?
my most awaited Samsung review, is it worth it to buy it from a51 to a55?
DEFINITELY
no adapter?
Why Samsung can't adpot the SIM tray design like this phone on the S series..... They absolutely have the space to design like this to put in
Is this better than the A34 5g?
Samsung could work on the thick bezels.
i am confused between redmi note 13 pro+ and samsung a55 witch one i should buy?
A55 is better in every way except charging speed.
Mr. TechDaily is it worth it to buy a55 or should I wait to a56?
Id say wait for the a56 and if you dont like that one you could just buy this and it will be cheaper
I bought it today, maybe tomorrow i have it.
Wait, in my country it supports e-sim
I'm new to Samsung. In your opinion, is the A55 better than the S23 FE? I'm purchasing for my grandson. Thanks in advance!
In terms of camera and usage, they are very similar. If you care more about gaming performance, go for the S23fe. If you care more about battery life, go for the A55.
Can you watch CZcams videos in 4K on the app with this phone?
There's no point. The screen resolution is 1080x2340. That's not even enough for 1440p resolution
You can select 2160p resolution, but the video itself isn’t being displayed or viewed in that resolution since the screen is 1080p and only shows so many pixels
Guys, s21 fe 888 version is better and cheaper , premium build except plastic back, meaningful camera setup as i compared with s23 side-by-side it match primary camera very closely but other. whats on your thoughts 😊
If you are in the US IDK why you would get this over a OnePlus 12r especially since you need to buy it unlocked
But the Exynos isn't fluid and responsive. A54 was horrible so I got rid of it.
That bump on the pwr and vol controls......My God, anything to make a budget phone NOT look premium right Samsung?
USD 395 in my country. Got it for my daughter, no brainer
I REALLY dig the changes of the A55’s frames. Making them all metal as well??! Oh Sammy (Smasnug) ((I mean Samsung)) girl you spoil us so!
does T-mobile 5G work on this global mobile phone?
Maybe. Check the bands. T Mobile doesn't have a whitelist that will block you from using unapproved phones like ATT and Verizon have
I finally settled with the A34 that's arriving tomorrow from Amazon. It didn't come out here in the USA but it will still work perfectly with my service (Google Fi). It took awhile to make a decision, I bought the A25 two weeks ago and hated the phone because of two reasons, those thick black borders were atrocious to look at and ruined my viewing experience while reading articles on the phone, etc and the second is that terrible processor they have been using lately in all of these new phones, exynos! I'd take the better performance and battery optimization in mediatek chips any day over the terrible chips in these new mid range phones. Only mediatek and snapdragon for me from now on, never trying another exynos chipped phone. They suck!
no esim? there's esim support for it atleast in indonesia
It wasn’t showing on mine, but I see a lot of people mentioning this. Need to investigate
