I think the fact that Samsung is not selling A55 in the US is that they intend to market more of the upcoming S24fe than the A55. Unlike last year's mistake they sold more A54.

If You say the S23fe performs better because it had Snapdragon chip, You need a reality check. First, the A55 had bigger vapor chamber it's the first time they upgraded the cooling system on the A Series. Second, the A55 is the first A series with AMD GPU, and it perform outstandingly on Genshin Impact. It could run Genshin Impact on the highest graphics and You still get 38-40fps with 36-38°c (around 98°f), not to mention the Exynos 1480 is super new and had not been optimized yet. Exynos Processor had a bad reputation due to how Samsung just silently use them on their super high-end device with subpar performance, the Exynos in the A55 is a different breed. It was supposed to be budget, but it performs outstandingly for the price. I would say with certainty, the Exynoss for the Midrange Samsung Phones worth every penny
4:45 Correction, the A55 actually had the stronger glass. The S23 FE uses Gorilla Glass 5, as for the A55 they use the Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both sides

I could argue that Fe is pointless kinda like the pixel, a series of phones also upper a series m and f series, and if Samsung could sell the s22 brand new for $349 s22+ for $399 and the s23 for $499 and s23+ $549 this will end the stereotype of samsung phones being laggy most users who say that are from a series phone and switch to iPhones. This is what happens when you make 50 phones you make alot of junk an cannabilize your sales. We have the a0x a1x n a2x line at $200 or cheaper no needs for m n f considering those phones are better in every single ways, replace the a3x and a5x with either older non ultra phones such as the s22/s22+ and s23/s23+ or release the fe line up a month after the flagship line at $599 and give it bezels of the flagship with s21 fe sized chin which still make it look cheaper than flagship while making it look superior to a series and make the bulky in between a series and s series the s23fe looks like a re branded a54 and not like the watered down s23. Once people get their hands on slightly older flagship or a proper fe at $599 which goes on sale for $449 that would eliminate the need of making so many garbage phone and selling 1 good phone w iPhone level performance stop people from viewing android as laggy.

A55's battery will last more, there are loads of battery comparisons between both phones.
Not even that, the Exynos 1480 is weirdly efficient for the amount of performance it provides.
One problem I have with both variants of the S23FE is the terrible thermal management on that phone, as sustained performance will drop to less than half of the peak because of high temperatures, while the A55 will keep around 90% of it's peak performance, making it better for longer gaming/video recording sessions (Source: GSMArena)

Coming from an S20FE it was a NO brainer for me to go with the S23FE. I pickup up the S23FE in early Nov. of last year and snagged an factory unlocked 256Gb Snapdragon Gen1 for just $509!
One glaring feature you did NOT mention is the S23FE also has Samsung DEX where NONE of the 'A' models have and is a HUGE feature if you have a use for DEX. Me for example can plug my phone into my computer at work and run DEX on one of my monitors. DEX is the deal-breaker for me as well as the wireless charging option and the Snapdragon CPU. Before the S20FE I was a TRUE flagship guy who always had the NOTE series but never really used the S-Pen and dropping my last Note jacked it up and REFUSED to pay 1K+ for the high end.
I have NO use for 4K or 8K video and the 50Mp main camera is quite an upgrade from the 12Mp offered previously and is more than exceptable for my personal needs. The S23FE is plenty snappy enough and can throw just about anything at it. The PLUS and ULTRA models IMO are just priced too far out there for my needs for horsepower and features I don't use in the first place.

By default the A series is colour accurate whilst the S series go for eye catching saturated colour profiles as the default display option (so not colour accurate). A55 sucks with its useless macro and no 4k60 recording. S23FE is gwnerally a better performer, plus they improved temperature dissipation by enlarging the vapor chamber compared to s22, so the temperature is harnessed, battery drain couldn't be helped though. The exynos from A55 isn't that streamlined either, like every exynos, they may improved it a little bit, but don't expect wonders when it comes to temperatures or battery life. But even with all that S23FE has poor performance/price ratio, same for A55. Go for regular S23 or when you wanna cheap out, pick S21FE. If you don't care about updates and want a good budget phone, I can recommend S20FE on snap865 I know, it's old and stuck on android 13, but it's perfect budget phone. No overheating, no battery draining. Still great performer. You can have buttery smooth experience in games like genshin impact or pubg and it doesn't overheat on you. Camera setup and its quality is satisfactory, similar to regular S21. I got mine for like $80, that's a real steal for what it offers. If you are willing to buy S23FE or A55, just don't. Buy used s23 or wait and save up to snatch one. This device gonna last you for years with excellent future proof performance and great camera quality.
