You are a very good teacher
For me the easiest way to do the intro would be RLL. But you have to do something similar to reverse whip stroke in order to get the sound you want.

One suggestion: you need to start breaking some drum sticks! More energy in the drum kit, play angry!
At the time this video was made I did not have good recording quality so I played softer :)

Love what you do, but please change the sound of your room. Toms do not come out, but espacially the snare sound terrible. The sound of the cymbals sound cheap and they are not. You would have so much more listeners, I am sure of it.
Theirs always this guy..everyone has their own audio preference. What he hears is probably exactly what he wants to hear, I actually love his mix. Take your negativity else where, Patrick.
