    This is exactly what ive been waiting for, doesnt stick out the dash and doesnt leave the original buttons useless! Get christmas out the way and il be saving for one of these. Question though if i get the digital tv upgrade does that include dab or are they separate?

    • @iceboxauto
      @iceboxauto  Před 8 měsíci +3

      They would be separate, the DAB goes in through one of the USBs and sticks on the windshield, or you can find an adaptor to work with the original DAB antenna also, in all honesty the Digital TV isn't all that good, I wouldn't recommend it in good faith

    Will this unit still be able to change my lights and customise my car settings still?

    I'm mulling over whether to buy this or the Tesla style unit.
    Got a 2011 Insignia CDTI as my workhorse and the Sat Nav (CD 500 Navi) was pretty decent (2019 maps) until the dynamic guidance stopped working due to Teletrac Navman no longer providing traffic data via RDS-TMC. Now the stock Nav isn't especially useful as I've been caught in a couple of traffic jams that it'd have originally routed me away from.
    I don't have sport buttons or eco mode so the Tesla type screen isn't an issue for me. I do like playing CD's though and often have the USB playing in the glovebox.
    Out of this unit and the Tesla syle, which do you think is the better system? Which is more reliable? Has more functionality?
    Cheers. 🙂

      We do have a few systems for that car, if you've the Navigation version of the car, the THV1977A or THV1977B depending on what colour frame you're after, Black or Brown, would work in the car, we'd need to know if you've got the upgraded Infinity Sound System in the car also: www.iceboxauto.com/iba-vauxhall-entertainment-systems#/specFilters=2!#-!152!-#!1!#-!16!-#!4!#-!88
      as for the USB, the systems will give you USB inputs to use, usually wired either into the Glove, or Wired elsewhere depending on extensions etc. and if you've got no ECO or SPORT, the style of the system is up to you, you're not losing anything with either this one, or something more OEM, like this one here, which only replaces the top half, they're similar in function, not form: www.iceboxauto.com/vauxhall-opel-insignia-2008-13-gps-navi-android-10-oem-style-radio-vx019

      @@iceboxauto - Many thanks for the comprehensive response. It's definitely something I'm considering now that the stock Sat Nav has lost a great deal of functionality through the loss of RDS-TMC traffic data. It'd also be nice to have Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and A2DP Music Streaming. I had thought of the Tesla screen but I do like how this one keeps the stock look + integrates with the buttons on the dash.
      I'll be in touch should I decide to go ahead. Thanks once again. 🙂

    Would that unit work on a 2012 model Insignia because I'm gutted how shite the radio output is...my 2008 golf has better speaker quality need help big time !!

    • @iceboxauto
      @iceboxauto  Před 6 měsíci

      It should do, only thing to consider is if you've got the original navigation or the Bose speakers, as it won't work with either of those versions of the car

    Does this work with a 2012 navi 900 infotainment system? (many options from the market don’t suport this system, just want to be sure).

    • @iceboxauto
      @iceboxauto  Před měsícem +1

      It will, only thing this one doesn't work in is cars with the upgraded stock speaker system, usually the Infinity Sound System in this case

    Just got a 2010 insignia with same unit fitted. Unfortunately, the original radio buttons dont work, has it been installed wrong? Any advice appreciated

      It would seem that way, either that, or you need to go into the canbus settings and ensure it's selected on the correct version

      @iceboxauto forgot to mention the steering wheel controls are the only buttons that work none of the faceplate ones work not even volume knob

      you'd need to get the factory settings password off the supplier, and then go into the factory settings to check on this
