  • 3rd gen 4runner lift. In this video, I show you how I installed a suspension lift on my 3rd Gen Toyota 4runner (96-02). The process is very similar to many other Toyota vehicles including Tacoma,
    FJ Cruiser and newer 4Runners. I'm running 285/75/R16 which measure out to about 32.8"
    I used Bilstein 5100 shocks and struts, Ome 2883 coils front & 2890 rear.
    Total Lift: Front should be 3" lift and rear should be 3-3.5" lift depending on weight.
    *Bilstein 24-248730 & 24-249966 Pair of B8 5100 Front & Rear Monotube Shocks for 96-02 Toyota 4Runner
    Sway bar end links ( front 3rd gen 4runner links to the rear) ( rear 2nd gen 4runner links to front)

    Nice camera angles! Visualises nicely how it's done.
    How do those 883's ride? They are the heaviest spring for the 3rd gen with heavy bumpers, right? So they would have a lot of preload when on the shock, no? I'm looking for the smoothest off-road ride and can't really find comfort related reviews, it seems everyone is just concerned with lift.

    This video was very helpful, I’m new to your channel and I really appreciate it, were new CV axles or extensions required ?

      @@Beacon_Offroad Good to hear, ive heard people on forums saying they tear their CV boots due to the lift.

      @Beacon_Offroad  Před 3 lety +2

      @@pikinachu9850 same. I assume eventually the boots will fail but I definitely have pulled mine off. Is heard of that happening. If it does apparently you can get extended heavy boots and that's what I'll do.

    How’s the angle on the uca ball joint? And how’s the alignment. Just bought the exact kit and was wondering if i needed uca’s on my 01

    Where did you get the kit for the rear track bar that you installed it ? How do I find that 2 pieces that need to be welded on right?

    I Had my lift put in last week in my 2000 4RNR. So somehow the abs light is on? So the shop made me pay for the sensors for all 4. Which the light wasn’t on before prior to lift install. Now when I drove away the abs light came back on? Pretty frustrated with this. KB do you recommend anything for my situation? Thanks in advanced

    • @Beacon_Offroad
      @Beacon_Offroad  Před 2 lety

      Hard to say forsure but what youre saying doesnt make sense. The chances of having 4 bad sensors is almost impossible, cant see that even happening all at once and no chance the lift would cause that.

    I've been watching for about a month. Juat got an amazing condition 02 T4R. The only thing I cam tell that's bad is the rack and pinion and paint. Stil have to take it to do smog test and register to make it legal, maintenance, and then mods 😀
    Also, what do you know think of the front diff drop kit? Did it make a difference and if it did, was it worth it?

      The front 883s would be good, I'd opt for the 891s in the rear. I'll be switching to those as well as I carry a lot of gear.

      At that point they were stock. I did change them shortly after but it worked fine without.
