So true!!! That's why I luv the story of The 🌈 Bridge so much. I picture lots of pet homes, streams & lakes with lots of green grass & pretty trees & pet toys. A nice open building where food bowls & bowls of water are and the pets can meet there and they're all happy & safe. Then when it's time for us to pass, we go over The Rainbow Bridge and meet up with any & all our beloved fur babies where there is no sickness or sorrow ever again.
I started rescuing cats in 1990. It has never been easy to lose them, either. Somehow I grieve the loss of an animal many times more acutely than that of a person. Please realize that you gave Fiffa a life of safety, love, and devotion that might not have happened otherwise. They know what we do for them. Animals usually hide themselves when the end is approaching, but I have had cats that overrode their own instincts to be close to me. They can never be replaced, but I have always believed that to honor a life that's ended, I save one that's endangered. I hope you can also fill that gap in your family when you're ready.
So sorry. I know this decision is one of the hardest and most loving decisions we make for our furbabies. What a wonderful life you gave her. She loved you as much as you loved her. RIP sweet Fiffa.

The vet said the kindest thing was to help her go; I could see the pain and sadness in her eyes and knew it was the right thing to do. We've all been there mate and it's never easy. The main thing is that you give them a good life while they're with you. I'm a cat person myself, but my Father's always had dogs. Looking back, I always wondered why He never got emotionally close to animals. Always gentle with them and looked after them, but never bonded. Now I know why. He kept a distance so that losing them wouldn't be too hard. Wise in a way.

Lost my first after 17.5yrs boxing day.. so I celebrated by doing all the things I couldn't do while caring for her and found myself still walking her route to keep close with her😢 I now have a 12yr old who's slowing down fast but I'm stronger this time. I am deeply sorry for your loss and I it was so beautifully explained by you Oddie. I lost my girl back in March it's the hardest part of having a fluffy kid. I was with her when she went after deciding to end her suffering, like you did. Its the kindest way for them. My girl Izzy was only 11 😢 I have her sister who's 14 and shes displaying signs of doggy dementia the vet was saying. Thanks for sharing your journey with your little one ♡♡♡

Very sorry for your loss. I strongly feel Fiffa closed her precious eyes to this world and immediately opened them in "doggy" Heaven. There she was met with all your past pets to welcome her as they await your arrival - one day. My greatly loved boy is like Fiffa, cushings, blind, deaf and recently his back legs have been betraying him. Losing him will devastate me. As all pet people know who view them as family, the pain is great. I hope you take comfort in knowing you provided Fiffa with an awesome life. Filled with loads of cuddles, walkies, good food, care and protection. Take care.

I am deeply sorry for your loss and I it was so beautifully explained by you Oddie. I lost my girl back in March it's the hardest part of having a fluffy kid. I was with her when she went after deciding to end her suffering, like you did. Its the kindest way for them. My girl Izzy was only 11 😢
I have her sister who's 14 and shes displaying signs of doggy dementia the vet was saying. Thanks for sharing your journey with your little one ♡♡♡
