I never understood why the hitchhiker couldnt just say, "There is a serial killer and his crazy family the way you're headed" instead of just mumbling some vague words
She was severely traumatized. Victims sometimes couldn't just admit what have happened to them and just shut down making them freeze.
When you experience your friends die in front of you and dead body's and a serial killer is one the loose you aren't thinking right. Victims of this get traumatizes to the point that they shut down completely. Or they are in severe shock they can't even talk.
Because the movie had to happen. If she'd said that, they would've kept driving and everyone would've been safe. That would have led to more than one poor Rotten Tomato user review.

At 9:15 there’s another problem with the gun, and it’s the fact that the weapon should be considered evidence and carefully bagged. He puts it in his boot which tells you he either isn’t a sheriff or isn’t planning on investigating (extremely sketchy).
These movies can simply be prevented if people just stayed in their houses

However, Lee Ermey (the actor who played the sherrif) was an ex-staff sergeant in the marines so regardless of appearance he could probably kick somebodies ass who isn't a semi-decent fighter/brawler. I know its irrelevant for the character he's playing but it's just a point out to always be cautious as you don't know who you're dealing with.
The Sheriff in the Movie Mentions he fought in Korea so it is relevant

I need to know what brand of chainsaw he uses. I can’t get mine started with 14 pulls but his starts every single time and doesn’t get jammed up EVER!
If mine's already been running it'll start with one or two pills but a cold start, prime it, choke, 2-3 pulls, open choke, 2-3 more pulls... By the time I get it started my victim is 1/4 mile away....

Or have a fully loaded m4 with a eotech zoom sight combo 45 round mags because drums are bulky and hard to reload. Have plate carrier and at least 3 mags of 556 or 223 for lower recoil. Make sure your pc has a bladder backpack with water and storage for a med kit and a extra flashlight and batteries make sure you rifle has a peg box (flashlight laser combo) and be trained with it. Most hottie movies would end in minutes with this set up even a quiet place

Also kinda of a bad assumption the m4 is the most common rifle in the usa so really anyone can be a expert with enough time with one. the fact that none of this would have happened if they just drove the other way with the woman or kept on driving past her annoys me because they literally would have easily survived.
Fun fact: Leatherface’s name changes so many times in the series. He has been named Bubba Sawyer Jr in the first movie, then it changed to Thomas Lawrence, John Hayne, and Thomas Hewitt.
Also, the location of the movies changed in multiple movies. It first took place in Granger, Moreno county, TX (which isn’t real), but this changes to Fuller, TX (which does exist)

This is one of those horror movies where you say to yourself “Oh-that can really happen”. It’s why it’s one of my favorite horror movies.
I always find it funny that practically all horror movie situations could be avoided if the characters just went back where they were coming from

And then all of sudden your dog starts barking, you try to see what he's barking at, but you don't see anything, so then you just ignore the dog and go upstairs for about 20 min. and then you come back down stairs and THERE'S LEATHERFACE WITH A CHAINSAW. ( you have no gun or you only have 3 bullets left) What would you do to survive?

These videos are great! Even if they did not pick up the hitchhiker I still think they would have ended up being harassed by that crazy cop at some point. This is one of the better horror remakes I remember feeling stressed out throughout the movie and even though Id seen the original several times this kept me on the edge of my seat. This is a great video pointed out somethings I did not pick up on,
Fun fact: Gunnar Hansen, the guy who played leatherface, frequently found himself having to slow way down while running after the other cast members because, even though he was carrying a real chainsaw and wearing giant boots with a leather face mask, he was running much faster than everyone else.
Edit: This was in the original 1974 movie, not the specific remake addressed in this video. Sorry for any confusion.

@@tacomn, I was actually referring to the original 1974 leatherface, not the remake, sorry for the confusion. He was in the 1988 spinoff "Hollywood Chainsaw Massacre," he played The Stranger, and in the 2013 remake as Boss Sawyer.

It’s also made all the more sad because obviously the boyfriend was going to propose to her but she was also strongly hinted at as being pregnant. In the conversation among the group before the hitchhiker shows up they offer her beer and pot and she refused stating she’s nauseous, they ask if she’s doing ok because she’s nauseous, she says she is fine, they ask if it’s something she ate or drank, one of the others points out she barely ate anything and only drank bottled water on their trip. All of this strongly points to her knowing she’s pregnant and taking measures to protect the fetus growing inside her.
That might be why she also saved the child. Obviously remorse and revenge play a key role, but she might've been more compelled to do it as a future parent.

@@vince3523 not necessarily. It is true that stress and trauma may increase the risk of a miscarriage (what you mistakenly called an abortion) but it’s not a sure thing. Lots of women go through horrific ordeals and still carry a healthy baby to term.

Wouldn't shooting your own friends in the leg be a detriment, if they cant run they aren't a priority you are, if I was the killer and my goal was 100% completion I'll focus the guy who can get away before the few who can't. What you'd be better off doing is telling them all to hide while you booked it. The killer would be more focused on finding and chasing them, especially if you move in a stealthy manner.

Same. Especially without telling him what genre it is. Imagine it's not a movie that poses a threat to the characters. In the Context of a horror movie it's always easy to make decisions or suggestions what to do, but that context is much harder to recognize in real life 😅
@@FinnReinhardt exactly. First time watching a movie (especially a horror movie), it's hard to see and predict what clues are actually there and which ones are useful. Like the girl walking - I'd not have picked up on her short steps, straight back, no sweat. Only looking back could I have figured out that something was up.
if you're a naturally analytical person, then small signs like those are often noticeable. but he probably wouldn't catch onto a lot of other stuff. So I want to see him do all this in real time
To be fair tho. This movies red flags are super noticeable like u would have to be an absolute idiot not to see them.
@@danielsemakula1526 this movie I agree. There's tons of other instances though where clues would probably go unnoticed by the audience (including him) during the first viewing. For example in his how to be "Hostel", one clue that something was wrong was a picture where the foreground and background were in focus. I ASSUME that he only noticed after viewing the movie for a second (or more) time.
I just noticed how much inspiration Dead By Daylight got from this movie, with the hooks, and hiding in the lockers, that's pretty cool.
lol, not laughing at you just more or less kind of shocked when there are like notion of someone playing a game that was purposely a game based off cult classic horror movies and yet a whole boat of players will not even understand any of the references or cultural significance. Similar to when someone would go "O I love that song" then I go yeah Nirvana is pretty great, and they go "No... that is from guitar hero". This was actually the first movie I saw with Sergeant R. Lee Ermey. Honestly , his character creeped me out more than any other in the movie. The dialogue he uses while getting the dead body is so disturbing.He was an amazing actor and I have seen his other films since then. However, this character still freaks me out even as an adult!
