2 one is the correct one why because I am playing like how my friends are playing . Got it ? Sir/ Madam
The correct expression is: My friend and I are playing. But, when do you say this?. You have to think about the whole situation or scenario to get the expression correct. If you look at any sentence in isolation and try to find out which one is correct, you won't get the answer correct most of the times. In any case, the 2nd one (i.e I as well as my friends am playing) is absolutely wrong.

After the conjunction word "and" there has to be a verb in this sentence. So "was" comes.
