Started a new job last year and the office is stacked out on these Soji chairs. I knew I was on to something once I tried them, even without me realizing they were Haworth chairs. Great value, not sure if I would grab it for a home office due to the limited recline options and firmer seat but in an office environment where I take frequent breaks they really flourish.
One option that's not touched upon in the review (which you often touch on) is that the chair is really nice for 'alternative' seating positions as well. I can comfortably sit on my legs, cross-leg or whatever else weird thing when I'm focusing.
I did really like the Soji, but it has one major issue and that’s the tilt tension is too weak. Even on max tension it was just way too loose still. Decided to try out the Eurotech Vera which I just got from Btod and man is it amazing, would 100% recommend the Vera over the Soji. Decided to get the headrest that I just ordered for the Vera as well.
Hi,
Thanks for the review.
Could you indicate which wheels did you use during this review? It looks like you didn't mount the original ones or was it an option?
Thanks in advance 😊
Hey, thanks for the review! What kind of carpet are you using in this video? My chairs tend to damage my hardwood floors, the carpet you have in this set looks really clean.
BTOD Rollerblade wheels -GK
Does BTOD recommend home theatre chairs, or can you direct me to someone who does? I’ve been happy with my refurbed Amia, love your content, but the home theatre space seems to be mostly influencers, instead of tough critics.
Do you guys find the eurotech vera or the haworth soji more comfortable?
What color is this? Mist or Charcoal?
I upgraded from a Staples Hyken to a Haworth Soji after about 4 years in the Hyken. After about a year, the gas spring is letting me down - literally. I'll put it about half-way up and within 2 hours, I'm at the bottom of the spring. (I've checked the weight specs and I'm within their recommendations). I also find that I have to repeatedly move the back rest into position. I'll sit down and the lumbar support is back at the bottom.
It may be a fluke, but it's something to look out for!
Chair tip for you. You could check if you can order a new gas spring, from warranty free or buy the part from Haworth. I also had my high end BodyBilt chair (in my opinion S tier or A tier) repaired and the repair rep told me that the cylinder height on all chairs should be adjusted up and down a few times repeatedly once per week. This maintenance will make the cylinders last longer.
@@thewhitewolffl Today I learned re: the cylinder thing. Thanks!
My Soji has some problems but I’m pretty happy with it. The biggest one being that my arm rests don’t seem to be the same, one side gets lower than the other. Also, my padding on my seat is finally starting to get flat.
Thought I was going insane with feeling that my arms weren't even. Glad it wasn't just me.
@@bottomtext5872 oh my god, I had no idea it wasn’t a one off thing. I’ve been meaning to contact support but i think I’m out of the warranty period.
This is common on every single gaming chair I've tried. Even my herman miller embody didn't have even arms and they refused to exchange it for another one because the discrepancy between the arms wasn't large enough. So I returned it and told them for a 1600$ chair the arms should be dead even. What a joke
Noticed that as well.
The free 30 day trial and the 12 year warranty speak for itself. However, you also stated that Ergohuman GEN2 is the Best Mesh Chair you had ever used. Will you compare the two?
Great question. It was Greg from here at BTOD who called the Ergohuman the best mesh chair. The Ergohuman is a little different as it is ALL mesh. This would be a good comparison for us to make down the road. - RG
@@btodtv Looking for it.
I really wanted to love this chair so bad. Every review praised it as the goldilocks chair in terms of value, quality, and comfort. It just did not work out from me. Tailbone pain about 30 minutes in, even with the right adjustments.
The seat sits firm, which we have talked about quite a bit since releasing videos on the Soji. You might want to consider the Eurotech Vera, as it has a softer seat and a lot of the other options -Greg
i had the same problem and had to return it, really sucks that it was the only option I could find in its canadian price range too
Hey @@theholygrail, I am in Canada too so I feel you. I picked the chair up around xmas for around 660 off Haworth's Canadian site so I was sad to return it after that. If you are still looking, I went with the ICON Q2 from atWork. Would've loved something from BTOD or Crandall but alas. This will do for now until I can get something at the higher price point.
@@anderson8383 what a neat coincidence
I'll check out the icon, thanks man
How are you liking the Icon Q2? Also in Canada and was debating on getting a new office chair.
Btod starting to sell Haworth? Or just being paid for the add?
We do not sell Haworth and we were not paid to make this video. We try our best to give honest reviews of the products we spend hours testing. If it turns out that our review sounds like an "ad" for a product we don't even sell... so be it. - RG
Do sell only. Top sit and back part ( Not bottom part) or any other part
Soji isnt great. The most upright recline lock is way too upright. The lumbar attachment is a flimsy joke. The seat is okay though.
it's a 600 usd chair it should be better than average
No headrest, no thanks.
I have it I use it for gaming and productivity a headrest is not needed if I’m gonna be laying back then I’ll just lay on my bed
@@Danny-cl4cl squeezing my hog on a chair with no headrest is a very unpleasant experience.
you don't have to lean back much to benefit from a head rest just move it closer to your head @@Danny-cl4cl
@@SomeFrenchDudebased and relatable😂
@@SomeFrenchDude headrests are overrated and unneeded. A good ergonomic chair does not require a headrest. Just look at Herman miller chairs. If you feel you need a headrest, then you’re not sitting in the chair properly. Don’t blame the chair, blame yourself.
