If you want to try facial Gua Sha but have a beard, can you just apply the technique to all non hairy parts of the face, or would that throw the practice out of balance and then cause it to be an actual negative thing to do?

Usually in the evening after cleansing I use serum, retinol and last moisturizer. Could I use Gua Sha after my skincare? Usually I don't use oil as I have combinationskin and get breakouts from oil
Hi! You can definitely use retinol with your gua sha. We love ending our routine with gua sha, it will also help the products integrate into the skin. Just make sure that your skin has a nice slip to it for the tool. You can also check out our website (shop.lanshin.com) to find oils that are formulated specifically for oily/combo/acne prone skin :)

The Pro tool definitely makes a difference. We’ve noticed this in our professional treatments. We use the Pro tool more than the Intro.
If price is a factor I‘d recommend starting with the Intro tool bc it’s simpler and good technique is everything with Gua Sha.
See how you like Gua Sha in your life, then when you’re ready and you want more, try the Pro! Your Intro can then be your travel-size (its smaller and more compact) or you can wash it and share it with a friend who is new to the practice.

Some of my clients enjoy practicing Facial Gua Sha in the morning; it’s a relaxing way to wake your face, it gets your circulation going... Plus it’s AMAZING as skin prep prior to makeup, etc.
Other clients look forward to doing it at the end of the day. You can wash the day off, sit down with tv or a podcast, and massage your face into relaxation.

What an informative video. Is this massage for lymphatic drainage? I’ve always heard to massage downwards, never upwards so I’ve probably been doing the ritual incorrectly.
Gua Sha isn't a lymphatic drainage technique so it's not necessary to always stroke downward... But you can stroke downward too. Even with upward strokes you‘ll still release tissue tension and cause the circulation to move better both upward to deliver nutrients, fresh oxygen, blood floow and fluids to the head/face - as well as drain excess accumulations down.

R Carrigan to clean your tools she recommended to wash with warm water and soap , dry and store in a safe place for next use also any facial oil I’m sure would work... hope this helps.

How to clean crystals Gua sha when we use oil for face and massaging... And how many times we should wash and how to charge it
- For at-home use, washing your Gua Sha tool with hot, soapy water is ideal, but if that’s not available you can spray rubbing alcohol or an essential oil spray.
- To “energetically cleanse” your Gua Sha tool, you can bathe it in direct sunlight for at least 20 minutes, or expose it to running water for a minute or two.
