The opening day of Palimpsest, a residency at Flock House Omaha at Bemis Center for Contemporary Art - Old Market, Omaha, NE, Karen Bahr organized a Ceremony for community building. As a member of Faerie Tones and a yoga teacher, she combined music and a group yoga practice that provides physical support for yoga poses. She invited participants to make Faerie wing ear cuffs.. Hula hoops and the arrival of corgi dogs added fun and surprise to the mix.
Palimpsest is a many layered inquiry into Flock House structures as elements of transformation. They are educational sculptures with utility to bring abundant agriculture, food security, creative spaces and mobile structures into the urban landscape.
