EUROPEAN Reacts to the Night BIN LADEN Was KILLED (EMOTIONAL)
On May 1, 2011, during a Sunday night baseball game, an extraordinary announcement stopped Americans in their tracks. News broke that a covert operation by U.S. Navy SEALs had successfully killed Osama Bin Laden in Abbottabad, Pakistan. President Obama confirmed the news, bringing a sense of closure to many. The nation erupted in spontaneous celebrations, with crowds gathering outside the White House and in Times Square, turning an ordinary night into a historic moment of unity and relief.

I grew up in in the North Bay, so I was an A's fan, because my dad was. By the time I really got into baseball I was living down in L.A. and it just so happened to be during the Dodgers' best years. A friend's friend had season tickets, so I had the opportunity to go to a bunch of games during the '88 season. Kirk Gibson and Steve Sax are still my favorite players.

I'm American so my heart beat faster and was filled with pride watching this video. I didn't know anything about the game and it's unfolding drama. Thanks so much for airing this.
I'm a 70 year old man from PA. I feel equally passionate about a number of goverment atrocities but when we're on the side of right that's when the American, freedom loving spirit kicks in like the crowd at the game. One thing about most Americans is do not ever threaten our freedom. We are freedom loving people and we treasure it more than anything.
An invasion by foreign forces would be beaten down by all the gun owners, including gang members, the American spirit would be almost impossible to beat on our own soil.

Remember that 2 planes hit the towers in New York, where the Mets are, and one plane was crashed in Pennsylvania, where the Phillies are. It had a very special meaning to both states.
By the way, in baseball one team bats for 3 outs. Then the other team bats for 3 outs. That is one inning. There are typically 9 innings in a game but it can't end in a tie so you keep playing until it is won. That night it took 12 innings to win.

Hello My European Friend 👋 I'm Giving You The Basic Rules of Baseball 👌 You Play 9 Scheduled Inning's, Each Inning Consist of a Top & a Bottom of The Inning, The Visiting Team Bats 1st Which Is The Top of The 1st Inning, The Objective Is To Score as Many Runs Before Your Team Makes 3 Outs, But Once You Do, Then The Home Team Comes In From Playing Defense To Now Bat at The Bottom of The 1st Inning, Trying To Score as Many Runs Just Like Their Opponent Did, So Once You've Played 9 Innings Which Ends at The Bottom of The 9th Inning After 3 Outs, Whichever Team With The Most Runs/Scores Wins, But If Both Teams are Tied at The End of 9 Innings, The Game Continues With Extra Innings Until 1 Team Has The Most Runs/Score After The Bottom of Whatever Innings It Takes, Example After Teams are Tied After The Bottom of The 9th, Then It To Goes To The 10th Inning & On & On & On If It's Necessary Until A Team Wins, Remember The Visiting Team Bats In The Top of Every Inning, Then Plays Defense at The Bottom Inning, & The Home Team Plays Defense In The Top Inning & Bat In The Bottom Inning, Now If The Batter Hits The Ball & Makes It To 1st Base Before The Ball Does, That's a Single, But If The Batter Makes It 2nd Base That's a Double & If The Batter Makes It To 3rd Base That's a Triple (That Means All Before The Ball Does) & If The Batter Hits The Ball Out of The Ball Park Within The Foul Lines That's a Home Run👌Now 3 Strives The Batter Is Out, But If The Pitcher Throws 4 Balls Outside The Strike Zone Without The Batter Fouling Them Off, Before The Umpire Call 3 Strikes, Then That's a Walk (Meaning The Batter Gets a Free Pass To 1st Base) & If The Batter Is Hit By The Pitch That's Also a Free Pass To 1st, Now While a Runner Is On Base, He Can Try To Steal The Next Base (That's Beating The Catcher or Another Defensive Player'
s Throw To Whichever Base He Was Stealing/Running To, But When Stealing a Base The Baseman Must Tag The Stealer With The Ball Before He Touch The Base, To Be Called Out & With a Home Run Every Batter That's On Base Scores Along With The Hitter(That's a Grand Slam) Each Time A Player Goes Around The Bases & Cross Home Plate Before Being Tagged With The Ball, Is 1 Point 👌 Now That's The Basics & It's a Great Sport To Watch, That's Why It's Called "America's Pass Time" 👌

What are some other acronyms like POTUS?
The oldest -OTUS ("of the United States") acronym is SCOTUS ("Supreme Court of the United States"), in use since the 1870s. POTUS ("President of the United States") is the second oldest, coming some twenty years after SCOTUS. FLOTUS ("First Lady of the United States") is another, thought to have originated in the 1980s. Less common than these, but still occasionally found, is VPOTUS ("Vice President of the United States").
    Is POTUS always capitalized?
The most common form of the word is POTUS, although it is also found as Potus. Less common, and formerly used more frequently in the early 20th century, is potus.
What is the origin of the word POTUS?
POTUS is an acronym created by taking the first letter of each word in "President of the United States." According to our earliest records of its use, it came into being in the 1890s as an abbreviation used by telegraph operators. POTUS was likely based on the slightly older SCOTUS (Supreme Court of the United States), which had been used by telegraph operators since the 1870s.

There has to be poetic justice involved in the time period of when it was announced of Bin Laden's demise. Let me explain, on Sep 11, the events took place in the morning, seeing as NYC, Washington DC, and Pennsylvania are one the East Coast, every American with the exception of Hawaii was starting their day when the events happened. We had to go through a whole day traumatized what we witnessed, truly fearful of any other possible misplacement, only to wake up in a daze the next day hoping that what we witnessed was a nightmare and was devastated waking up the next day to realize that it did happen and we had to accept it. I was a kid at the time, was very confused how much there were people who hated us Americans that much that it exposed our naive mindset that the world liked Americans. Honestly it's been non stop in exposing how many foreigners hated us that it's now become a thing that even those we thought were allies were joining in. Yet the funny thing about everyone's perspective about 9/11 is that we Americans had to go through a whole day traumatized with vain hope it was a nightmare.
So when we got the news about Bin Ladin's death, whose been responsible for traumatizing our nation, we were getting ready for bed and preparing for the next week as it was a Sunday. It was one of the first nights I think many of us felt some relief that at least one of our tormentors is now gone, the influence he had ended up dying with him too, and we finally had one bit of justice. It won't take back the pain and the loss we went through, likely sparked an identity crisis in many Americans, but many of us could feel some peace knowing that at least Bin Laden and his power is gone from hurting any more people.
In the end, it proved as a testament to the resilience we Americans sometimes unknowingly find ourselves to have, in this case, we never give up in pursuit of justice. It might not come right away, but after 10 years we finally had one dangerous terrorists we don't have to worry about and was able make an example to any other potential threats that we will abide the time it takes to take our enemies down.

P.S. There are 9 innings in a game. Each inning the visiting team gets to bat and try to score runs (runs are basically points.) , the home team then gets to bat next. If the game is tied after 9 innings, the game continues into extra innings. I simplified it so you might understand it a little. This game went 14 innings. That is a very long game in baseball. Bin Laden was somewhat of a boogeyman for many Americans, myself included. I was 6yo when 9/11 happened, growing up in a military family, I spent most of my childhood hoping my father would make it back home safely. When the news of Bin Laden's death popped up on my tv, it was like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. What I felt that night is hard to put into words, relief and joy, sadness too, because I can't help but think about 9/11 and all the people that died both that day and since then, but relief and joy is really the best I can do to name it. There was also a sense of shared identity and pride, watching the reports of people taking to the streets in state capitals in the middle of the night, singing, dancing, chanting and coming together to celebrate. I literally couldn't sleep that night because of all the emotions.

I really miss Obama. He was such a measured, eloquent, thoughtful leader, who wasn't afraid to show his emotions. I didn't agree with everything he did, but I do miss his maturity and level headed leadership. It was a breath of fresh air.

Great video! As far as baseball goes, there are a huge amount of rules. If you didn’t grow up with it in America, it’s 100% that someone would have a lot of trouble understanding the game. Maybe someday you’ll understand it at least enough to enjoy it. Cheers!
