Something else you might want to consider regarding the chain lifts is that currently the chains only contacts a small section of the powered gears, which could lead to some slipping. If you add another set of gears above the existing gearbox to feed the chains around between the powered gears and the bottom of the lifthill, that should help ensure good contact between the powered gears and the chains. I find it helpful to think of the chains as rubber pulleys, as they will expand/contract over time and with changes in temperature/humidity. You could also incorporate a moving tension wheel, but I'm not sure if that could negatively affect the synchronicity of the two chainlifts. In case you get some reliability issues with the release mechanism for the trains before the lifthill, you may want to change where the weights push on the levers. Currently the weights push against the top of them, which could lead to jams if there was increased friction. If the weights were to push against the center of the levers instead, that might make it even more reliable.
More crossties will usually make the track smoother. Also, practice shaping using the regular scaffold-lie knex structures before getting fancy with tube supports. And finally, micro-knex chains are the best chains, especially if your model is in the heat.
