Gilles,I looked all four parts on rehairing. This is the most professionaly explaned and done rehair work on the internet!
Remember to insert the ferrule the correct way before you continue, to avoid having to remove the hair from the tip later after you discover your mistake. The eased corners point toward the tip of the bow.
Many many thanks superbly executed procedures I am looking forward to the second bow re-hair God willing I will be performing; thank you sir!
Thank you very much for sharing your wisdom with us! Doing a rehair "the other way round" seems unconventional to me but it actually appears to be a great technique. I really have to try this! All the best to you!
Thanks for share!
Thank you
Is it wrong if I insert the ferrule & spread wedge after tie the head knots ?? To me its one very convenient way to do it :P
I saw some other rehair tutorial where they actually done insert the hair & head plug then only back to do this part (insert this triangle wedge), by doing so its easier for them to hide those crossing hair is it ??
By the way i dont get it why suddenly women come out from nowhere in all these video, some kind of advertisement ?? Not really any problem to me but kind of weird in tutorial like this :P
Thanks again. Very helpful video especially for new rehair beginner like me. The best among all the video i had watched!!
It's not an advertisement at all. Just my wife (and even our kids in part 4) having fun participating in my videos. Some people like it some don't I can't erase it anyway unless I erase the whole videos.
Is the wedge for the furrel made from oak?
It can be.
In this case it seems to be beech wood. I used limewood for the most part, but I've been told it's good to take harder wood for the wedge, since it has to keep the hair spread in place. Especially in the corners of the ferrule. Gilles Nehr is a great craftsman!
beech
What is the name of the tool you use to know how much hair you need?
