Tearing down our past is endemic now. I’m 81 years old Australian and it’s the same here. People ignorant of history tearing it apart. Guilt layered on for “attitudes” that are 50-60 years plus. My generation worked towards changing and improving. We didn’t destroy what had gone on before. This generation will reap what they sowing today

I am an American in my 50's and everyone my age and older has great respect for Winston Churchill. History is important. He was the bulldog and refused to capitulate. Great Britain payed a high price, but they remained a sovereign nation. The Americans jumped in because we knew Churchill and the British people would fight, but needed support. Most Americans realize if the UK ever falls, it's curtains for western society. I hope this mess in France can come to an end, but really they always get bailed out by everyone else while they refuse to do any hard work.

I live in France 🇫🇷 and the vast majority don't participate in things like what is happening. I'm in a village and we don't see or participate in things like this, it's happening in Cities, not everywhere.

When I was at grammar school in the '60's we read " My Early Life" the autobiography of Winston Spencer Churchill as part of the GCE curriculum. It was later used as the story for the film "Young Winston". They were the days when we appreciated what great people had done.

I am from Belgium and I just love 'Plank of the Week' and just so you know, we also call a small piece of wood a 'plank' in Dutch, but for the French-speaking, it's called 'une planchette'😊

That’s what happens when people are ignorant & arrogant, Churchill was, may I say.. our saviour from Hitler. That’s why we & the Woke enjoy our freedom.
In my opinion, Churchill was one of Britain's finest. Every day of his life, he battled what he described as his 'black dog', yet put his love of country above his deep depression. His retorts in parliament were witty. My personal favourite was when Nancy Astor told him that if she was married to him, she would give him poison. Winnie replied, "Madam, if I was married to you, I'd drink it!"
Someone of his stature should not be remembered for a sarcastic insult.
I love this program! It's the only series I stream weekly. I'm American and can't stand US news anymore. Perhaps we've lost our sense of humor over here.

In The Chase on Thursday (29 June), the contestants were all teachers. It became very clear that George Bernard Shaw was correct: Those that can, do; those that can't, teach.
They have a curriculum to learn, same every year. Once they have mastered that there home and dry.

Schools have banned kids from going to school for not wearing wearing a blazer when it was 30 degrees for wearing shorts nail polish and pierced ears and yet they can dress as a cat dog or any ridiculous thing they want it’s about time parents took a stand and insisted that teacher did what the title of their jobs implies when they turn up late for work and blame it on the fact that it took longer to get there as they were walking very slowly and backwards

Civil servants disobeying government policy or caught leaking confidential information should be summarily dismissed with their pensions revoked. We have this issue with our civil servants here in Canada. They do in the US. Fairly certain Australia is facing this as well. We have a generation of university created activists that must be purged and possibly prosecuted
Possibly prosecuted ? If they are caught doing what you suggest then there should be no possibly about it. Prosecute them if they are taking matters into their own hands which they seem to be . The thing is the courts and institutions including judges are full of lefties just like these so called civil servants who are actually hard left activists getting paid through our taxes so they may clear them anyway. But they can't clear them all or the judges will out themselves , they will have to prosecute some honestly and without favour .

Its amazing how in just a few years the amount of plankery has gone from a Bird Box to a Garden Shed and we are now bordering on Ski Chalet plankery levels. No wonder the rain forests are disappearing at such a fast rate. Dear Thames Water, as one of your hard pressed customers, I really don't give a flying f..k if you "celebrate" your employees, or ensure they have a good "work/life" balance. What I do care about is you providing the service I pay for, and not the 'crappy' ( pun intended), one currently on offer. Further, stop pushing my bills ever higher, simply so you can make the sort of profits designed to please your shareholders, instead of using that money to actually make the improvements necessary to offer a good service. Do you think you might "celebrate" your customers, you know, the people who give you a business, and thus provide you all with jobs.

Don't let the immigrants off the taxi [ RNLI] en masse. Get them off one by one, interview them at the dock, those who fail their initial interview [ no documents = fail] onto a coach, and off to Manston where there is a serviceable runway. Have a plane waiting and as soon as it's full, off to Rwanda. There are usually around 80 - 100 per taxi. That's 10 interviews per interviewer [ shouldn't need more than 10] most interviews will take moments - no documents, Albanian, Indian/ Pakistani, all over in 10 minutes. If some are on the taxi overnight - so be it. If they fled France in fear of their lives, an overnight won't hurt them. One plane a day to Rwanda, where they can lodge an appeal. The leftie lawyers can set up shop in Rwanda to do the appeals. Any women & obvious children can get off first, & go to a different coach & then to a Centre. Stop those here in hotels or military bases from being free to wander & abscond. They are illegal aliens, so need to be under guard. If they complain, straight on a plane to Rwanda from a civil airport. Job done. The stated costs are ludicrous, but even at that, the deterrent factor & the fact that it's a one - off payment, not ongoing & increasing costs makes it worthwhile. We must stop them just getting off the taxis.

Winston made a few mistakes,as we all do in life, but when almost all was demoraliased he rallied us and made it possible for democrisy to prevail. One cold go so far as to say that without him theres a good good we'd be speaking German today. Winston was truly a man of his times.

I am in favour of retraining camps for university teacher training lecturers, with essays required on how Africa, Slav, Indian's would have fared under Nazi rule. Another would be if Hitler extended his plans for Scandinavians where he would deport them to borders with Asia so the genocide could go on behind them, and how Brits would be used as accessories in the same way with genocide quotas alongside plantation production in the Empire.

Great show again. Regarding Lush, they had a spell where they endorsed BLM on their home page a few years ago. I've not bought anything from them since. OK, I only spent about £50 a year there for 'er indoors, so they're about £200 worse off now.

How interesting to actually say out aloud that you believe that you are a cat. Well, all cats have to go to the vet for their once in a lifetime, "excision of" surgery. I am sure they would drop their voice and say "I was only kidding". As for children who are adamant that they are a cat, only feed them cat food, let him toilet in a litter box, don't let them wear warm clothes and put them outside at night. I am sure they would soon change their mind.
