  • Hopefully you don't need this much persuasion to pursue working in a national park, if that's what you want. Either way, I'm here to try and convince you.

    I'm going from working "regular" jobs for 10 years ( I'm 27 ) and just discovered seasonal work recently, and I'm starting at Grand Canyon in 3 1/2 weeks. I'm so excited

    Working in a national park is amazing, I work for NSW National parks and wildlife service in Australia as a permanent field officer. Best job ever by far in this country, I always have people say I have the best job ever. So to everyone thinking about applying do it make a career of it you won't regret it.
    Just make sure you have the right mindset, to care for the environment and protect indigenous (native) lands.

    I got an offer to work in Yellowstone this season but couldn't go cause I was given a full time employment here in New York City. Its a good job, but no longer my dream job as i imagined back in my high school days. Working in Yellowstone is my new dream job and someday soon, I will work there by Gods will. Life is short and I wanna fulfill with soul enriching experiences like these ones. Making an annually salary isnt all that exciting anymore. Your videos are awesome, keep up the good work. I definitely recommend people do these kinds of things

    This'll tells you I'm old but back in 1998 I drove from Topeka Kansas all the way to Zion National Park to work at the lodge. I'm 45 and I must say you are absolutely right that you never forget you never lose those images and those moments that you had while you're working at the National Park. The only thing that's on my mind more often than Zion National Park are my kids. My son is 18 and it would be a dream of mine to get him to live and or work with me even his choice of National Park.

This is a random question and I am sorry I advance but how is the air there? Is it a super dry type of air? Would you recommend bringing or shipping there one of those super small humidifiers for my employee housing room if I am offered a job?

    This is awesome and inspiring! Two questions though - I'm almost 29, is that still an ok age for a girl to do something like this solo?? Also is it possible to get your own room (I couldn't handle sharing a room for someone for months at this point, I'm an introvert!!) Thanks!

    • @CasuallyCarolyn
      @CasuallyCarolyn  Před 5 lety +2

      Of course! 29 is so young. It's possible to do this solo basically your whole life! As for getting a single room, I'm not sure how you go about that. It would probably be best to shoot Xanterra an email once you get the job and ask about it
