It's like what I tell people, I don't care what you call me, just don't call me late for dinner. There's definitely culture and heritage to names but if it's good, it's good
Big facts
@@surfhappens202 Is texas and california still battling for second best burrito after New Mexico's
New Mexican here, I love green chile, steamed potatoes, eggs, bacon, sometimes whole pintos, and either longhorn or just cheddar cheese. I am drooling as I type this, sooo good!
breakfast burritos in new mexico are the best
Yoooooo I've never had potato in a burrito before, that sounds so good
Yup, NM burritos best burritos, gotta smother that sh in christmas
My breakfast burritos are:
Cook sausage, put aside
Cook diced vegetables (onion, bell pepper, maybe poblano or jalapeno, depending on if my wife/kids are eating them)
Add diced potatoes
Cook for ~10-15 minutes, covered, until soft
Add sausage
Add scrambled (not yet cooked) eggs
Heat until eggs are cooked
Serve on tortillas with cheese and salsa
Grew up in SoCal & the Central Valley with breakfast burritos & now live in TX where everything is all about the breakfast tacos.
Both amazing. No complaints. ❤️
Dear Arnie, thank you so much for your joyful and tasteful videos, you bring a lot of happiness to our screens!
I love your energy for the show. It a lot of work. Thank you
SoCal is the best..right down by TJ..The best!❤ Thank you for this fun..cool video!
It’s a problem down here- Chula Vista, San Ysidro area with all the taco shop’s and their breakfast burritos! Lunch, dinner why just have them for breakfast? I gained weight and had to go on a diet because of our little burrito/carne asada fries problem. Artie is the mf man!
The Workers Burrito. Refried beans, Mexican rice, carne asada. … And that’s it!
Just enough to keep you working hard in them fields.
The thing I miss most from Texas is fresh tortillas. Arnie's videos always make me hungry and nostalgic.
Those deep fried looking burritos look more like what I'd call chimichangas.
If you’re ever in Las Cruces, NM, they have gas stations that sell burritos. You need to get a mankind burrito! OMG you’ll love it! Steak, Chicken, Potato, Pico, Green Chile, Salsa, Cheese
I'd smash every one of those burritos, but as a Yay Area (semi)native the Mission burrito is part of my soul. Carnitas, whole pinto beans, rice, queso Oaxaca (I think?), pico, and Tapatio splashed on every bite.
In my opinion....
A burrito is wrapped 🌯 while a taco is folded 🌮
@@MichaelTheophilus906 Not true, in Mexico some tacos have rice & beans.
@@MichaelTheophilus906 not talking about (mex/amer) crispy corn tortilla tacos...talking bout real authentic mexican tacos...they, more than not, have rice & beans
Tacos can also be rolled.
@@pimaxuma that's a taquito, or can be a flauta, not the same
Yes bacon fat is key to delucious refried beans or manteca my nana had a tub of it lol thats how she used to cook back then and i miss it anything cooked in bacon fat is delicious😀👍
Used to get huge burritos in Odessa for $1, and they were delicious every morning going to work before the sun came up. Miss those days.
I was raised in grandfalls. I loved going to coyanosa and pecos. Going to farms and cafe...loved to people. Arnie and his family make me homesick
Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado all definitely have their own styles. All of my different favorites are great and unique. I don't particularly care for them loaded down with rice. It's nice to have that and the beans on the side. If you don't mind rice in one heat up leftover kung pao loaded with some fresh meat It makes a very fast meal with a little heat to it
I was born and raised (and spent most of my life) in Central Texas and South Texas, but have lived in NorCal for the past 2 decades. I had to get used to ordering breakfast burritos instead of breakfast tacos, but I love it all! The Mexican cuisines are different between the two states, but both are really good, and when I go back to Texas to visit my family, you know I'm going all out on everything I miss or can't get here. 😋 One thing I really love about CA Mexican food is the huge variety of seafood dishes that are different from the kind you can get on the Gulf. But, on the other hand, I really miss well, everything from South Texas. Like I said, both are good, I love it all! 😂❤
Okay, a great big lead on video content. My wife, who isn’t the best cook, ehh, she’s really not. She saw on tic tok that HEB now has hybrid corn-flour tortillas. She fried some chicken fluatas last night with these tortillas and they were absolutely delicious. It was a job very well done. These tortillas are game changers and a smart investor would try to put money behind the product. Freaking awesome taste.
My go-to breakfast burrito is chorizo, potatoes, scrambled eggs, and cheese. I like it with red chile salsa, and sometimes crema, too. Simple, but perfect.
@ArnieTex thank you for your videos! You do a great job! I live in West Texas, I call them Burritos. My burrito of choice I have nicknamed “Rancho Verde”
Bacon- double order
Eggs
Cheese
Potatoes
Beans
Pico De Gallo
& Avocados
P.S. your red salsa with chile de arbol was a big hit yesterday for my fajitas!!
I live in Odessa and love your videos and recipes so much!
Your show is amazing and the best home made food and 😋😋😋😋 yummy 👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍
It’s funny how everything considered California style includes avocado. Sushi, burgers, burritos…. I’m from Nor Cal. Stockton to be exact and they’re good no doubt but not on everything. My ideal Mexican breakfast is chorizo eggs beans and potatoes served with or in a flour tortilla. Damn.. now im hungry. Thanks a lot Arnie! Goes my diet.
Arnie I love your recipes and I still make your mamas Mexican rice ❤ I’m not able to do any cooking right now but as soon as my situation turns for the better I know that I can open up your channel and find something delicious.
Chorizo, egg's, and Pico for breakfast! I make it every year at Deer Camp here in Michigan!! 😊
I lived in SF from 1998-2002. The burritos were huge and usually about $5. I moved to LA in 2002, and the first place I went to was Burrito King. Awesome breakfast burritos. Eggs, Crispy Greasy Hash Browns, Bacon, and Avocado. Back in 2002, probably $5 as well. Excellent hangover breakfast option.
A friend of mine from Durango, Mejico told me the same thing. He he;ld up a Taco de pollo and said now if I put it in a flour tortilla, it's a burro. Es lo mismo. Dijo
Over here in Corpus you don't see a whole lot of burritos, at least not from local spots. When you do find them they're usually served like an enchilada with the chili gravy and cheese over top, so no eating with your hands with these burritos.
Great vid Arnie. One thing about the rolling. The way your folded the burritos is what I see in most placesing in texas (folding over the end after rolling. Most places in California, whill fold the ends in first, then roll the burrito. It is tighter, neater, and won't open up/leak on it's own. Cheers.
I grew up on green burros in Arizona- they’re all good
I had to give up on a lot of food because of my health but chorizo i still have at least once a month. The last time i had it was a pound of it put in my chili along with venison i got myself
I’ve been working in Pecos for most of my 25 yr career, La Fiesta has my favorite burrito, the pancho villa! Great barbacoa and michelada also!
Ánimo Tío Arnie. Coincidentally I made a Burrito earlier today to eat, mine consisted of frijoles Fritos (fried beans) arroz rojo (red rice) cebolla (onion), cilantro, salsa roja (red sauce), queso Oaxaca (Oaxaca cheese, Sonoran style tortilla de arina (flour tortilla Sonaran Style) on a Comal (Griddle)
🌯
What about NM burritos with green chile??? 🙂
Hatch?
@@madtownangler You know it! But remember they grow all kinds of chiles down there, and they're all great!
I have been learning so much from this channel. I have lately been saving any hashbrowms i have left over when we go out to breakfast on the weekends and mixing that with eggs, onion, tomatoes, diced jalapeños and I add some pablano crema that I made watching some of the things I learned on here. I am obsessed with pablanos lately.
Love to hear the shout out to West Texas! When I was a kid my grandpa drove a mail truck and whenever there was a school holiday my little brother and I would tag along with him and Pecos was on his route. Had some pretty memorable camping trips out to the Pecos River and Fort Davis too. You're making me jealous with that big plancha set up though! Love your videos, Arnie!
06:05 give that man an oscar award 😂 love him!
Absolutely fantastic Arnie! Deliciousness!
Love you sir. Give cowboy Kent a message. You guys could take over the world with North American cuisine.
So there's tacos, burrito's, chimichangas & flautas. Just some of the variations of how tortilla's are used...
I’m from No CA and I grew up eating burritos like the second one you featured with refried beans, eggs, meat and salsa. Papas too. My favorite way to make burritos is with corned beef hash with potatoes and eggs. My grandma used to make them for my grandfather for work but she used canned corned beef. They were definitely delicious but nothing beats a homemade corned beef brisket burrito. My husband and his family are always asked me to make them.
I love the gas station burritos, talking to people from out of state about them they think I'm crazy but they're super good!
I'm from the "Old" 714 Orange County California, those first small Burritos 2:39 were on our Lunch Trucks from the late 70's, they would fry them for you fresh and serve them in a paper tray and you could ask for Sour Cream, Salsa, Cheese or even that Avocado Green Sauce for Taquitos, they were called Fried Burritos. In the 714 a Burrito was a Big Flour Tortilla, filled, rolled and wrapped. Tacos were Corn Tortillas served open and you folded in half and ate. The real 714 issue was Flautas vs. Taquitos 😁
Arnie, The first time I had a breakfast burrito I was working on a film and the caterer would make breakfast burritos for the crew in the morning. It was churrizo, eggs, cheddar cheese and sometimes diced potatoes. Thirty years later, that's still my favorite way to have a breakfast burrito.
Arnie, back in the day when I worked in the Aerospace industry, Irma on our food truck made the breakfast burrito of your dreams! Equal parts bacon, ham, and skin-on breakfast sausage links, crispy hash browns, eggs, and some pico de gallo. Probably the best thing I have ever tasted.
Love the sponsor as it’s related and great for the video. We need more of those types of sponsors
To answer your question, what I like about breakfast burritos I love mine with the standard eggs, sausage pico de gallo with Serano peppers, jalapeños, Jero peppers, little bit Anaheim peppers with some refried beans I like it spicy with a side of queso
Always love your videos
so glad that there are salsa lovers out there in the world!
I absolutely love burritos! My favorite breakfast burrito is chorizo, cheese and eggs with just a few potatoes. Some fresh Pico de Gallo and you have a winner!
One thing I can't understand is why people would ever put lettuce in a burrito. It becomes a soggy mess and the lettuce loses all it's texture and adds no flavor at all. Lettuce on a crunchy taco? Sure, it adds freshness and texture to it.
To me, nothing beats a classic Roberto’s style California burrito with red and green salsa
Arnie I like my breakfast with everything you have their but I also add some hash browns and onions and jalapeños Lou’s some jalapeños juice from the pickled jalapeños
Muy rico burrito. 🌯🌯🙂
For my personal tastes I don't like beans on breakfast burritos, it just tastes funky to me mixed with the egg, when I make breakfast burritos at home it's breakfast sausage, scrambled egg, fried potatoes, cheese and salsa.
Living in the Central Valley of California my whole life, We don't usually get many mission burritos with yellow cheese, in fact here in Central Cali sometimes they don't use cheese at all, or if they do it's a Queso Fresco Casero or Queso Fresco Cremoso.
Our tacos are also very different, the style here is more of your Northern Mexico style carne asada street taco, grilled Carne Asada cut up, diced raw white onion, and sometimes grilled onion in the meat, Cilantro, and cabbage with a red or green salsa and usually on a smaller grilled corn tortilla so you can eat like five or six of them in a sitting lol.
Hey man, how are ya? I make your chili recipe all the time. It’s great. I’ll definitely be trying these burritos recipes. Thank man! Have a good day
What's inside may not be healthy but it looks delicious yum
can you make a flour tortilla recipe video arnie ???
I used to make my dad potato, egg , cheese and sausage breakfast burritos which then changed to bacon and egg tacos or burritos, depending on what he wanted.
Thank you!!!!👍🏾😊
Just love his dance I look forward to it.
OMG! I lived in EP for many years. For me, El Paso had the best Mexican food. And when we went across to Juarez...oh my goodness. It just didn't get any better...unlessy granny or my MAMI made it. Good food should make you dance!!! 💃🏻
The tough questions. I'm generally less is more but the mission style is close to my heart. I'd prefer a chorizo and egg for breakfast and a mission style burro for 2am 😆
Nopales rice beans chorizo ham egg bacon and American cheese in my burrito of course with some salsa verde
Great cooking /work @ArnieTex always enjoy your videos and recipes , Gracias
Aw neat your from Pecos i worked in Pecos for four months when I first started my job I have now it was a nice little town
Amie and Claudia are may favorite cooks.
No rice or beans on our Southern California burritos. My fave are the Albertos carne asada with just carne, lots of guacamole and pico de gallo. And also the Machaka with cheese, just eggs, meat, a strong flavor Mexican cheese and some peppers. There are a few places around here that have a good fish burrito, but most are pretty bad.
Looks wonderful. Thanks Arnie.
That Salsita looks 🔥. Taco or burrito I think both can be said my dads from Ojinaga he says taco or burrito lol .
I will put practically anything in a breakfast burrito any kind of meat. My favorites are birria, adobado, machaca, and bacon. I will almost always put a lot of cheese eggs, maybe potatoes and I love to have it with cilantro
Yum that looks delicious. 😋
Based on the title was hoping for Arnie's version of a California Burrito!
Years ago, I worked with a lady from Mexico who would cook from time to time and offer me a "taco" "Quieres un taco?" she would ask but it was a burrito! When I asked her why she called it a taco, she said that all burritos were called tacos in her family's restaurant in Mexico! Either way, I never complained because her "tacos" were some of the best I have ever had!
Deep fried Mission Burritos are the shiznit.
They all a look good 🤤
This just makes me incredibly hungry! Nothing like that is available in the UK :(
WHAT? You're from Pecos? Go a little further East...I was born in Big Spring. I have family that lives all along I-10 all the way to El Paso. Mexican food is so different in every part of Texas. GREAT VIDEO! THANKS FOR SHARING!!!
In Southern California we don’t use salsa on our burritos. We mix miracle whip and soy sauce and dip them.
Orale puro pinche 956 LESSGOO HERMANO, love you're videos brother keep doing you.
I like chargrilled skirt steak, guacamole and jack cheese, with everything else on the side, my favorite salsas to pair with it is Pico de Gallo and a plain chipotle salsa, NOT escabeche or adobe marinated.
I like ham, eggs, cheese, and potatoes in my breakfast burrito.
Arnie, next time u r in Pecos try the Chile Verde at Tommy's Paradise.
Arnie, do you have a few ways to make flour tortillas? I’ve been looking up some, but I would love to see if you and your family have several different ways to make.
On the border of El Paso and New Mexico the people on the New Mexico side do not sell tacos only burritos .
Anything in a tortilla is a Taco but a big Taco is a burro 🎉 BOOM 💥
I love how you don't fill your burrito with guacamole pico de Gallo or cream. I think it makes it too wet and you can't roll it. I like it flat like that
Much love from El Paso
You really want this dude as your neighbour 6:50 :D
CHORIZO
Yum yum yum ❤❤❤❤
That looks great
Did you make the tortillas or did you buy them? Cz they are heating up nicely 👌🏽
Que rico me gusta comida de mexican mas mejor de gringo yo vive in mexico graciás ArnieTex
Add green chilis to the breakfast burrito,
Breakfast burritos need little beans, eggs, brisket. Like Valentino’s. None better.
Arnie what is a deep fried burrito???
That's called a chimichanga... 😊
Need New Mexico burritos in there.
yum looks awesome!
I like them all, but when driving thru Texas and I see a Cefco, I will stop for that fried gas station burrito
