And now Igor's the head coach for the Phoenix Suns! Hope he brings a bit of this kind of success to Devin Booker, Josh Jackson, and our upcoming selection this year, Luka or otherwise.
Goran is Serbian
@@aleksatepavac005 Father Serbian, mother Slovenian, born and grew up in Slovenia. Is nationality inherited by father's line? He is what HE (and not you) says he is.
I'm a Serbian and it was a well-deserved win for Slovenia, it was a really fun game to watch, our guys made a lot of mistakes, Dragic was unstoppable and Prepelic had incredible three-pointers, all in all they outplayed us.
If you call Dragic dropping 30 on contested mid jumpers and Prepelic scoring 4/8 from 30 feet outplaying us then yeah.
I'm Slovenian and I was amazed how well Serbia played without 6 of it's best players in the team. Well played, was a great final game, both teams were amazing. Serbia will get there in 2021. Pozdrav iz Slo!
It was a really tough game, kept me at the edge of my seat for whole second half, true final! Great play from Serbia, I was expecting more roughness from your players and it was nice to see that you didn't try to kill our guys :D
Cheers from Slo!
Second only to US is hardly "ain't shit".
HlddenTalent check out Indianapolis 2002 semi final game. Then we can talk who's what
congratulations Slovenia, very very nice and spectacular tournament, totally deserved. From France.
Although Dragic and Doncic were great all tournament, for me most impressive part of this Slovenian journey was last ~4 min of finals, when Serbia tied the game, Doncic was hurt and coach took out Dragic bc his hero ball was actually hurting team at time and Slovenia finished the game really strong wo 2 best players, gutsy performance by Prepelic, Vidmar, Randolph...and gutsy move by coach Kokoshkov!
he put him(dragic) out becouse he had cramps and he could not move acctualy :D
Tom 68 Kokoškov*
Yeah this was epic
Dragic and Doncic put Slovenua in the driving seat but when they got hurt there were players like Prepelic, Vidmar Randolf (and Nikolic and Dimec too) that made sure the cup goes the right way :)
And now Igor's coaching the Suns moving forward!
You can't imagine how much this medal means to us. In the last 15 years I just almost got used to us losing in big games. It happend at every tournament even tough I feel like in past years we had some roster that were probably even more talented then 2017 team. But for whatever reasons this was the year that everything clicked. One chapter has closed with Dragić gone but is only the begining now with Luka Dončić. Coach thank you for doing this breakdown.
+armin38822 thanks for watching!! 👍🏀
Yeah everything clicked. Teodosic, Kalinic, Nedovic, Bjelica got hurt. Jokic refused to play to work on his own body... And two toughest defenders in Serbian team got hurt in the tournament. ... And extra day break than Serbia before the finals. Yes, you were better than us and I am very bitter. :)
In that case Serbia would be a favourite just like Spain was but guess what ? Spain still lost.
armin38822 my country Canada has been similar to Slovenia we always lost in big game but than this year Canada won the u19 World Cup and Slovenia won euro basket
Canada will be fine as long as everybody keeps playing for the team. Lots of talent there and more to come.
Fast fwd 3 years and now this kid just tied the series with the clippers with a 40 point triple double, hurt ankle, buzzard beater 3pt, no kp ... future rings and mvps in his road!
Well Doncic numbers not impressive? He scored 27 points and grabbed 9 rebs to send Porzingis home in quarterfinals. I'd say that's kinda impressive
Slovenia shot 21(!) more freethrows that game... What a mess by the refs. Yes, i'm still mad. Congrats Slovenia on the gold though.
They was lucky to win latvia
+Pick And Popovich his overall stats for the tournament weren't fantastic
BBALLBREAKDOWN He didnt shoot as well as he can but 14.3p - 8.1r - 3.6a in less than 30 minutes against the best players in Europe to me that's impressive. At that age his rivals for the #1 draft pick next year are playing against high school kids, just as a reminder. And let's not forget he was injured in the finals and that kinda ruined his stats a little bit. In my humble opinion he did great in this tournament and he was a huge part of the reason why Slovenia got the gold in this one.
BBALLBREAKDOWN I know it's really hard for you beacuse of the schedule and time difference, but I'd recomend you to watch some Real Madrid games this upcoming season since Doncic will have to carry the team's offense now that Llull is badly injured and Rodriguez plays in the NBA.
Just here for the ad transition
right if the video has it is great already
+Matthew Romano haha awesome
First one that didn't make me cringe lol
ad transition? what ad transition? All I know is that Slovenia is fun to watch and if I want to see Dragic and Waiters make life hell in the back court, I better use seat geek.
Dragic is one of the most underrated players in the NBA
Watching this in last hour of 2018. And doncic is having the best Rookies season ever.
👍👍🏀🏀🏀
watching this 3 years later and still feeling emotional :P Luka going into 3rd year in NBA as one of the best guys in the league! just crazy
Awesome tournament by Slovenians. They have played much better basketball than most teams, and they didn't even have good centers. They played like Golden State Warriors. High volume of threes, fast, fast in transition. Very pleasing basketball on the eye. Dragic played amazing tournament. I gotta say that i was 100% sure that those 3 pointers (2 meters from the 3-point line) would not win Slovenia a final as finals are usually tough games where defensive bball wins, however Serbia played great defense, but Slovenia had great offense.
I am Serbian who is very, very sad that we didn't win, I am not denying it. I thought we deserved it after 2 silver medals at World Championship in 2014 and Olympics and after that crushing defeat to Lithuania in 2015 where we were out-muscled. Everything looked like it was going to happen, but Slovenia played like they had nothing to lose, and Serbian players played like they had everything to lose. Sports can be cruel sometimes. We were given a chance... but freaking Prepelic would not f*****g miss. Never even heard of that guy until game against Latvia.
We from Serbia are very happy with silver metal from our guys because a lot of our best players didn't/couldn't play (most importantly Teodosic who will play for L.A. Clippers; Jokic whom everyone knows from Denver Nuggets; and Bjelica from Minnesota Timberwolves; as well as some others) so we didn't expect anything special from them this time, and yet they made us very proud.
Congratulations to Slovenia, they played very well and did deserve this !
I have to mention referees, because of FIBA/Euroleague dispute best referees from Europe weren't at this championship, and those ones from final were clearly less experienced and made a lot of mistakes.
Also, it's worth mentioning that Slovenia's head coach is actually a Serb who knows very well all out players, and is an assisting coach at Utah Jazz for a few years now. His name is Igor Kokoskov, and I expect him to be first non-American head coach of an NBA team in upcoming years.
Čestitke i Slovencima i nama !
5:00 What a fucking pass
I asked you for this video, you promised, and you achieved! Muchas gracias coach! 🇦🇷
+Nico Berrutti 👍🏀💪
Dragic has to be in the conversation for best players to not make the all star game
John Wall, IT, Kyrie, Kyle Lowry, Kemba Walker and even D Rose are better than him
Marlon Ndoro pretty sure he means dragic's Phoenix days.
Marlon Ndoro All of them are all stars - Rose better? lmao u trippin hard dumbass
ED Also, Dragic found himself this year again - compare his PER to his 2014 season
timjax991 I named all the all stars that dragic will never touch in the east. Rose better by far considering the stats he put up in the triangle offense. You're the real dumbass lmao
I hope you are proud or recognized for appreciated to be the first( from the USA) to see what a talent Luka Dončič was and is!!! THX
Dragic is like Jordan in the 2k18 weekly challenge featuring the heat. He plays like these highlights every possession.
Klasican primjer sto znaci ekipa, tim . bravo Slovenija
These guys have a fan from Croatia, beautiful basketball, they make it look easy. I really enjoyed them givin Spain a lesson😎
Vedran Gračanin me too :)
Me too 🙂
Still can't believe 3 teams passed him especially looking at these highlight since he showed alot of poise and his basketball I.Q. is very noticable in the vid. Inexcusable especially now since at years 20 old, he's already in the running MVP!
Oh man Dragic... one of the most underrated players in NBA of all time, for me a hall of famer and a member of first team from EU of all time with Nowitzky, Sabonis, Petrovič and Parker....
No Gasol xdddd best FIBA player ever
Psysso That's ridiculous. He just isn't HoF calibre.
Luka Doncic why? because he isnt american? if a american was doing the things goran is doing he would instantly be a hof
Psysso i think he's the most underrated player in the league, top 10 pgs and top 30 players for sure , but he's not hall of fame, unless heat make at least two deep playoffs run with him carrying his team, and i dont think think this will happens, he's the second best european pg ever , but not hall of fame for sure
+izi810 -Fifa Vids :D
Mike Conley is doing what dragoic is doing and he's definitely not HoF. You Euros overrate the fuck out of your players.
The Dragon. Still remember what he did to the Spurs a couple of years back.
Look at Doncic man, so inspirational
Love from Slovenia.
I expected a bit more on Doncic as I thought he was really amazing... His rebounding and vision were spectacular... Number 1 for sure
Biaatch more? Really? 18 years! Gold!
Daniel Ramalan I meant more on him in this video bro :)... As far as the performance goes he did way more than anyone could expect...
But you forgot one thing...Slovenia won without both of them at the end when it was neck and neck (dončič go injured and dragić was too tired)
i watched slovenia games, dragic was amazing but man give credit to vidmar! he was the anchor on defense and how hard he made pau bleed for points
ChelseyBunny true! He schooled big stars like Gasol, Porzings.....
1:07 So are we just gonna act like that did not just happen lmao.
Insane haha I was eating too hahaha rip my food
No one needs to tell it cause they see the full greatness they respect it by not talking about it.
Macnugot Macnugot2 bro you talked to shit on the lebron man step video you are a total fucking idiot haha annoying as too opening your mouth when you don't know what you talking about and even talk any English grammar at all
It wasn't a surprise to see Slovenia win. They have been ascending for a while and finally put it all together. By the way, the size of the country means little in European basketball - see Slovenia, Lithuania, Latvia, Georgia, etc.
From the future, Luka Magic breaking the NBA!!!
I didn't believe that my country could beat Spain but thought we had a solid shot for the bronze. Then Spain got spanked and there was shot for the gold, which the team grabbed. It wasn't just the two main guys, it was the whole team who pulled through in the end. Dončič was out with an injury and Dragič had cramps, so the role player (Blažič, Nikolič and Prepelič) has to close the game out and they did. Also, this for sure wouldn't have been possible without Randolph. Not sure how I feel about signing outsiders just for basketball games, but he sure did his job in this tournament.
Dončić, Dragić*
humma4 SAME HERE :)
My god. The music 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗. Thanks Coach Nick. I appreciate you so much. You're one of my favorite people in this world, truly mean that!
+Rolando Robles thanks!!! 👍🏀💪
Mega like. Greetings from Croatia
"Look at the cojones in this guy" bruh 😂
This 2 played great but actualy it was Prepelic with epic 3s who killed defense in opposing teams
Dragic, doncic, prepelic were top players
prepelic is the best shooter.. real arsenal guy
It was the whole team not just 3 players!
Good transition game from Coach Nick as usual
+Daniel Yang 👍🏀
I am from slovenia and i can tell u something about it..... Slovenia is my city😂😁💓
Slovenia is not a city
Pzdun still people that don't understand the joke ahhahaha
Thats a shitty joke mate
xD well and with so much forest this city has beautiful parks :D
raco :)
Whoa whoa whoa....
Did Ricky Rubio grow a lumberjack beard?
And get a Full Sleeve?!
when did he grow up?!
He's a hipster now.
Luka will make it big in the NBA. Rookie of the year to start. 😃
Slovenia ❤❤
ŠAMPION!!!
Congratulations Slovenia!
He’s a great point guard. One of the best today but he isn’t on a good enough team and therefore doesn’t get the recognition that he deserves.
Same with Mike Connelly.
These guys need to be in winning teams.
Doncic looks incredible
This is my favourite video you've ever done ... I might be a little biased since I'm a proud Slovenian :D
I'm Slovenian and i was amazed how our country won! :D I watched all the live streams and the finale too. I would never think our country would win, even though we only have 2 million resididents we are a good country! Serbians nearly broke Luka's leg but they also played verry good, with alot of mistakes .-.
Love it man. Great job man. Respect
Love from Slovenia 😆✌
Dragic is the best full speed dribbler of all time.
Two of my favorite players!!!
Also coach nick forgot to mention that this team is extreamly well coached by Igor Kokoskov who is premier non-american assistant coach in the NBA.
And now he's finally coaching in the NBA properly! :)
The us should have a tournament between all 50 states similar to the euro one
lol stupid
+Giovanni Herrera that would be really interesting!! Or maybe by region
Giovanni Herrera Cali would dominate every game tho
Closest thing to it is the March Madness tournament
They do...it's call NBA. In fact it's tournament between major cities across states
Coach Nick getting every name right. True legend.
Woooow great video!!!
It means a little more to win for your home country than the NBA finals...(IMO)
Looking back 5 yers, you were so right.
You forgot to include Klemen Prepelič. He was best 6th man in the tournament in my opinion. He was the key.
+plestipg well, I mention him at the very end
Lol this video will be reccomended again once dragic and Doncic are teammates again in Dallas
coach could you give an early early prediction of the award winners for next season?
+Omri BP thisbis a good idea....
just like Dražen Petrovič mother say, the best basketball is playing in Jugoslavija.
Goran bulked up big time! You can see his athleticism and improved speed damn!
No surprise given they have dragic.... what a monster.... anyone who has played 2k18 yet will agree....
whos their shooting coach? all of them have beautiful strokes!!!
YES ! Thank YOU !!!!!!
Man i remember my Macedonia getting 4th place in 2012 eurobasket,we also have about 2 million people but not as talented as slovenia
GG9000 Professional Bo Mccalebb
Pavements Chase yessir lol
damm the great macedonia of alexander has only 2 mill people??
GG9000 Professional waiting for a serb to come and say that slovenian players are in fact serbs..lol
Random even less but the last time it was checked in 2002 we were at 2mil now im pretty sure we are about 1.5 mil
it vas an awsome game :)
slovenija najača
I bet slovenia at 7-1 odds to win the title at the quarterfinals
Dragic game is the point guard version of ginobili
Well for the Dragic slowly passing the torch to Doncic it seems unliky Dragic stated that this was is final Eurobasket no quenstions he leave the team in good hand.
Little did u know luka will be a mvp candidate
He is amazing. The "lefties" can be amazing. I think of Gail Goodrich, Lionel Hollins, Nate Archibald, and now, perhaps the best, Goran Dragic. Wow - what is he going to do next? Inside, outside, drop-step after a stop and a fake, quick & fast, and accurate inside, outside, and 10-footer. A joy to watch.
Miami has another fantastic, up tempo, point guard in Kendrick Nunn. When I heard his name in trade rumors, I dismissed it as wishful thinking. He's a quick and accurate lefty who can run the floor and be a leaper, and there was no way Miami was going to trade him. The game ... basking in the beautiful bountiful game (*except for tats - me no fan of tatoos).
Feels good to be a heat fan.
They scored more points in a lot of games
Avery Bradley's Son L
he has that upper body strength and body control. He can friggin finish over the biggest guys in the NBA
The Dragon! Crafty, skilled and tough!
Omg beast history
Something has to be said for the Serbs who came within 8 points of the Eurobasket title without 7 of their 10 best players! Coach, would you say that after a performance like this, if the Serbs could get Teodosic, Jokic, Raduljica, Bogdanovic etc on the court all together would they have a chance at being more of a 1b to USA's 1a in international basketball, as opposed to it being the US and then everyone else like it's been for many years? Not taking away anything from an incredible Slovenian performance throughout the tournament, just want to shed some light on a potential powerhouse brewing. I mean outside of Europe, the Aussies are the only team that is really promising atm, so I'd say this is a pretty good barometer of how good the Serbian team can be.
Not 1a and 1b, but 1 and 2 yes. Serbia needs other guards to make up for teodosic since he's getting old, but besides that, they have the most talented squad in Europe. Canada also has promising potential, but they're like 3-4 years away from having a team that can compete with the best. They could be making some noise in 2020 tho
Yannick Abele I agree, Teo is already 30 and was never exactly athletic to begin with. I'd forgotten about Canada actually, but I'm not sure if they'd have the manpower to make too much noise. However, a core of Joseph-Murray-Wiggins-Olynyk/Lyles-Thompson gives you a pretty serviceable starting 5 to begin with
Yeah, the core you mentioned + a bunch of NBA role players (Stauskas, Ennis, Wiltjer, Dillon Brooks, Nicholson...) and don't forget about RJ Barrett, who could turn out to be a borderline generational Talent a la Wiggins, or possibly better. I think if they had better management/coaching, they'd already be a force
I mean Serbia has a lot of talent but you need to remind yourself that they weren't the only team missing many players this Eurobasket, France pretty much was missing all but 2 of their NBA stars , Greece was missing Giannis (the 9th best player in the world) and all the rest of their NBA players (Koufos ,Dorsey) , Spain was missing Llull , Ibaka , Mirotic , Rudy , Calderon etc. Italy was missing Galinari and Bargnani.
So you really need to wait till you see every country compete with their full rosters in order to see who is clearly better than who.
+Chuck that is a great team for sure and I'd love to see it. I think they could definitely beat NBA talent
Doncic 🤠
been waiting for this
Kerr gave you a shoutout for this vid coach. Solid work!
Ah Yes! Luka Doncic
You got me with that plugging like Pacqiu's left hook, outanowhere!
the way you introdused seat geek in your video I'm dead hahahaha
where is the panties promo ?
Dragic is retiring from Slovenian national team !
Goran Dragic is my brosie with Hassan Whteside and Dion Waiters on the HEAT
ain't no stopping seatgeek!
Hey Coach,
Great stuff again. But can you please share the Synergy numbers for the Slovenian Team ? I am very curious of there Picknroll stats.
Thanks
Almost NBA season!!!! Time to hit up seatgeek
Boi suports our are life
Just like golden eagel
And you said Everything soo vierd taht is sloven
I just noticed how huge the difference between the size of the net in eurobasket and in the NBA..
Somebody needs to make a compilation of Coach Nick's ad transitions set to Smooth Criminal.
+Caleb It would be a thriller
coach keep an eye on luka during the olympics
Love this!
"Considering how tiny Slovenia is". Slovenia is as "tiny" as GREAT state Israel. It has actually ca the same size. It is also almost as huge as Macedonia and even bigger than Kosovo and Montenegro. Nobody is talking about "tiny" Israel or "tiny" Montenegro. Those are only complexes of so called "great" nations, which have +20 million people and who think that "they are above us all"...OK perhaps only TINY Croats have similar complexes, about their "giant" country... Slovenia has also many caves, in fact the most in the whole Europe combined; so it is much more diverse, complex terrain, with its Alps (Alps are names for mountains in Central Europe (not in the Balkans) than some people think!
Hahaha šta si se uzjebo bokte, Amerikanac je rekao da ste mali i talentirani a ti se uzjebeš, pa da je rekao za Hrvatsku da je mala i talentirana država ja bi to shvatio kao kompliment a ne kao uvredu...
It might help Doncic's court vision and quite a few other talents that he's been two years in B.C. Real Madrid. A rather successful ballclub.
It's like your Celtics or Lakers to spanish.
Dragič sadly ended career in national team
Hope to see Luka in a Kings uniform alongside former foe Bogi. Ought to make for some pretty basketball.
Here's hoping Dragic will be holding a Larry O'Brien Trophy in the very near future.
The commercial was smooth. Hahahah
👍🏀💪
That seatgeek ad is fucking egregious
