- There is a lot to keep track of in life and I've decided to keep things simple and use Apple Notes. I use it lists, groceries, video production planning, professional note taking, and so much more. I walk through why I use Apple Notes and folder structure I've set up for my life.

This is golden. I have been bouncing back and forth between Bear, Apple Notes, and Crafts. Given all I need to accomplish can be done in Apple Notes, I think that is what I will stick to... at least for now. Thank you for showing a few use cases that would actually be useful for me as well.
I've been using Apple Notes for over 10 years....I have over 14,000 notes.
hey,cant we change the white pages to any other colour or black? i am new to it but i cant see any options :(
@@theplan2990 If you change your Mac display to dark mode your apple notes will show up black but that's the only customization you can do as far as theme color. You can change the color, size and font style of your text as well to customize a little more.
@@shannonastraea2103 yes, thank you shannon :). wish we could do more customizations and change the pages colour and zoom in the notes. idk why apple doesn't look into it
I love Notes and Reminders. I use Reminders for lists such as shopping or for things that I need to be REMINDED about 😉
Aaron, fine video. Clearly, you're a professional at such stuff.
Here's a couple other ideas for your to consider with Apple Notes that you may want to try out to see if they would be helpful for you.
#1 - Tags - - - This is now a standard function of Notes. They are a great way to categorize Notes. Finding specific Notes is easier with Tags than typing in a search word. - - - I also really like clicking on 2 Tags to get a list of Notes that have both.
#2 - Template Folder - There may be some types of Notes that you duplicate for use in a slightly different situation. Perhaps create a template for such Notes and placing them all in a separate folder would be helpful.
Thanks the suggestion! I haven't really tested out the tags feature yet. I'll definitely consider adding that to my organization system. For the Template, I've found the only real place that I use the same type of note is with the video planning so there is a template note for that. Other than that, most things start from scratch. Thanks again
The one feature that makes apple notes my #1 is the ability to start a note from lock screen. THAT alone makes it the closest to a pen and paper system more than anything!

Great video and I feel the same. I want the structure of a Second Brain approach, but implemented in a minimal way. Apple Notes is perfect for that.
I went the same route. Used Obsidian + TeuxDeux until I got my MacBook Pro half a year ago. Since I am fully entrenched in the Apple ecosystem now, I realised using Apple Notes would be the best, easiest, fastest solution.

Great video on notes, as a new iPad / iPhone user after years of Windblows and Droids, this video showed me better use of this app. I’m currently using notes for different things like my passwords lists and groceries and things I want to remember but as a planner, this is unique!
This video is simple but really helpful, thank you for the walk through. originally watched this a couple weeks ago and have now come back to revisit it as I adjust my system.
I have been finding that adapting to a simple system is easier than to simplify a complex one.
I could use Notion for example and do an all-in-one system for task and project management. But it’s a bit like driving a super car to the grocery store.

Only a small technical suggestion about your video: every couple of seconds, your video goes a bit out of focus. This is very annoying, specially if watched on a bigger screen. The suggestion is to fix the focus point on your camera (do not let it go automatic).
I would definitely be interested in hearing more about working for nonprofit/service orgs as a digital marketer.

Awesome video. Something different and refreshing in approach to looking for a simple yet effective note taking solution which does not force down our collective throats the myriad of note taking apps that are so numerous and often confusing to choose. I just wish the Apple would just create cross-platform apps (for Windows and Android, like they did with their Apple Music app) this I think would make them slowly pivot from being a company that just sells a lot of iPhones and slowly lure more users into their ecosystem and make inroads as a company that also makes excellent SaaS solutions for the masses. Imagine if they compete directly with Facebook’s (sorry, Meta’s) WhatsApp with their also very good iMessage app. Meaning I can collaborate with others regardless of where they are iPhone users or not…
