  • Behind the scenes - Factory Training Ventrac 4500
    Today we are welcoming two brand new employees to the Marketing Department at Ventrac.
    Typically when we have a new employee at Ventrac, we make sure they get some time on the equipment. It’s important that anyone working at Ventrac knows exactly how cool the equipment is that they are building, selling, and representing. And it’s essential that our Marketing Department knows exactly what they are representing.
    Our new employees Sidney and Andrew have read the Operator’s Manual prior to this training and understand the procedures and fundamentals of operating a Ventrac. They’ve also watched our series of educational Simple Start videos on CZcams.
    We recommend all new operators do at least those things before and learn from an experienced operator or dealer prior to getting on their first Ventrac. Also, spend some time getting comfortable operating the machine of flat grounds prior to operating on slopes.
    Operating a Ventrac is a very intuitive experience. The machine is incredibly easy to run. Andrew points out that it feels foreign to him because there is no foot pedal. He is used to operating traditional compact tractors that offer foot pedal control. And Aaron explains why our hands are so much better at operating a Ventrac because of our quick reaction time and intuitive nature of hand controls with the SDLA lever.
    The benefits to driving a center articulating and oscillating tractor are much more than the eye can see. Operators feel the difference in the seat of the tractor with FlexFrame and experience a smoother, better ride over uneven turf surfaces. The tractor’s ability to follow a matching wheel path means it is gentle on turf and will not damage or tear the surface. FlexFrame also allows the operator to feel more confident on slopes with greater stability and traction.
    To get the full experience, you’ll want to demo a 4500 on your own property. To find a dealer near you, or to answer any other questions you might have, visit our website at ventrac.com.

    I had seen so many ventrac videos, that when we actually got a ventrac at our golf course, I was immediately comfortable with it and going up and down slopes with no issues within the first 5 minutes of getting the machine 😂
    I love the ventrac! It’s such an awesome machine. Has a few quirks that could be major or minor depending on your needs.

  • @lifeonblossommountain7203

    Great video Aaron! It’s so true, my prior zero turn wouldn’t come close to what the VenTrac does. I’ve got one 35 degree slope that I’m certain the VenTrac would conquer, but the pucker factor is too great and the slope indicator keeps barking at me.

    I'm curious if side hill mowing would be a no go with this same rig. Never doubted the up/down hill capability. Great machine. Nice add to the team with the new recruits.

    • @ventrac
      @ventrac  Před 3 lety +1

      It's rated for 30 degrees in any direction. It's also stable and works well mowing sideways but traction is always more difficult going sideways so if the conditions are too wet then you can experience some loss of traction. In that case, the tractor will "crab" but you can continue working as long as you're okay with the impact on the turf.

    So would it be safe to go up that 30 deg hill with no front attachment and a fully loaded power bucket mounted on the rear of the tractor?

    • @ventrac
      @ventrac  Před 3 lety +3

      No...in fact, it's best to always have an attachment on the front of the tractor for weight balance.

    Is breathing in Dust a big problem on the Ventrac since the mower is in the front?

    • @ventrac
      @ventrac  Před 3 lety +1

      The mower decks aren't too bad unless you suffer from allergies and there's a lot of pollen around. A respirator is a good idea on some of the dustier jobs like power raking or ballpark groomer when the conditions are very dry.

    Take something good and make it great. Always room for improvement. Take this 4500 and put it on tracks. Many of other trackers manufacturers are putting tracks inplace of tires. No flats and doesn’t get stuck. I would also like to see a much more powerful Diesel engine options. All my equipment is diesel. I’m in the market for a tractor and like some of the stuff yall are doing but I the options I just started.

  • @cerberus2881

    You can't be on the payroll if you can't do the Hill. I wish I hadn't sold the Grasshopper now, I feel challenged
    to back it up the hill, and mow vertically down the slope on it. The chevron tires seemed to give it more ability in reverse.

  • @johnpitcher5171
    @johnpitcher5171 Před 3 lety +1

    Good video, but what about "altoz" zero turns on tracks? They claim extremely steep terrain climbing as well. Still would prefer the ventrac overall. But the question persists.

    • @ventrac
      @ventrac  Před 3 lety +2

      Weight bias is still a problem with those when going straight up but they are considerably better than wheeled zero turns overall. The tracks also tear turf up pretty significantly unless you slow to a crawl for every turn (like really, really slow).

    How does the weight transfer work?

    • @ventrac
      @ventrac  Před 3 lety

      We use a big spring assembly located inside the main frame of the tractor and it helps to support some of the weight of the attachment. Because of the geometry of this system, it concentrates the extra force onto the front axle area of the machine and off the attachment, providing better traction, among other things. czcams.com/video/q_iolxuDtGM/video.html
