- Hello Skaters! I have a unique one for you today! Today we are going over the Half Toe Walley and the Full Toe Walley jump. Never heard of them? I am not surprised, they are not done often, and we don't usually see them turned into doubles, triples, etc. I am not sure why. But they are related to the Toe Loop jump, and a funky cool trick to try.

I love how kind and clear your instructions are! sometimes my coach just pulls me into the position she wants and I get confused and she gets frustrated so these videos are a nice change of pace for me when I get confused in practice! :)
Glad it was helpful!
Yah! Happy to see this. Back in the late 70’s-80’s, this was my favorite double jump! So easy to get height and power, and not as awkward as the 2toe entry! Do a double!❤🎉😊
This is awesome. Now I want to try it as a double. You have inspired me.
please do Choctaws
I loved it. It seems that is one that I can do as a simple 1 turn jump. I had my program that it would be really nice to put another jump in. Thank you, coach Julia ❤!
I Loved the toe Walley as a late 80’s 90’s jump when it was rotational I did a double and then a triple ;triple toe Walley double loop double toe combo ,Novice -junior Ladies
Oh my gosh that is awesome. I would love to see a tripled or doubled Toe Walley!
@@CoachJulia I was a great jumper ,spins i did not appreciate the beauty and the difficulty .I just got new boots and I am working on my spins now and it’s been 15 years and omg they are so difficult ! I have been coaching since the mid 90s but at some point I just stopped doing more than a scratch spin or a Waltz jump .I have a new understanding of how difficult this sport is and how much strength it really takes.
Thanks for the video, Julia! I'll be trying this on the ice soon!
I hope it goes well for you!
awesome!
4th thanks for the new jump to avoid learning my axle!
Hah! You are welcome! Anything to avoid the daunting Axel. Lol.
@@CoachJulia you know it something about hurling myself into the air and trying to spin so fast I get dizzy doesn’t realy speak to me for some reason 🤭
Only heard of the jump, but first time to actually see it. I can't help trying to come up with what a botched-toe-wally-turned-into-toe-loop should be called. You know, how a botched lutz is flutz..."toe lolly" maybe? I also love the yanking power pull. Love the sound it makes on the ice.
BTW, the "turned in/out toe" is something I'm trying to get into my jumps. (Turned in RBO edge for loops, Turned out L toe tap for toe loops(not 100% confident about turned out...maybe turned in is preferable?), Turned in R toe tap for flips and lutzes) Coach never specifically told me to do it, but I just came up with it a few weeks ago and they seem to work. I'm glad you mentioned it in this video and hopefully I'm not doing anything stupid.
Finally, my first comp in less than a week! Already been feeling the adrenaline rush since last Friday!
I hope your competition went well!
@@CoachJulia let’s just say it went okay. Didn’t fall, but jumps weren’t as clean as I would’ve liked. Unfortunately, I crashed during practice without my buttpad, and bruised my left hip pretty bad. Messed up waltz and salchow because of that. (Lame excuses, I know)
This jump looks really awkward. I can't wait to try it out.
Lol. It is kinda awkward. I feel like people must have collectively said … Nah, let’s not double that one. 😁
I realized a jump I have seen (in video) @ hanyuyuzuru2624 do during warm-ups seems to be the (not toe) walley jump:

Yes! This is the Walley jump! Very challenging actually.
😍😍😍
