  • Jack Roosevelt Robinson (January 31, 1919 - October 24, 1972) was an American professional baseball player who became the first African American to play in Major League Baseball (MLB) in the modern era.[1] Robinson broke the baseball color line when he started at first base for the Brooklyn Dodgers on April 15, 1947.[2] When the Dodgers signed Robinson, they heralded the end of racial segregation in professional baseball that had relegated black players to the Negro leagues since the 1880s.[3] Robinson was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962.

The Junior High School I went to was named after Jackie Robinson. It was such a pleasure meeting his wife, Mrs. Rachel Robinson, when she visited our school that day. She was so kind, beautiful, and amazing. She is still alive at the age of 97. I wish her all the best.

It's hard to think of a person who deserves hall of fame as much as as Jackie Robinson. It must have been a particularly sweet victory that seemed like heaven to him 😁

@@reelblack - Maybe You are, *_no disrespect to You and Your channel._* My GrandFather knew him personally and I trust what he said.
Yes Robinson spoke up about civil rights but only to the degree of being equal to being able to sit in the beasts restaurants and be fed by them after they spit, or worse in the food. There will never be equality in a sewage system of injustice on stolen land.
He hated real Stand Up Black men like Paul Robeson, Elijah Muhammad, Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X, etc.
He even testified in court against Paul Robeson. Being the *_"KNEEgro"_* he was.
In order for a Black person to break into the circles of the beasts they are *_VETTED._*
Show anything regarding Your love & respect for Your Black People, You ain't getting the job, not being elected, etc. You have to always be on the side of the beasts and against Your Own People at all costs.
For J. Robinson the pay was better than the Baseball teams he originated from. Nothing wrong with wanting more money from a career but You don't have to step on Your people at the behest of the beasts.

@Tom Somhairle - I will always point out the truth of people places events & things.
Most people would rather live in oblivious la la land or vicariously via others and never accept what is the truth.
