I had no idea about the V cut in lobsters before i watched your vids. gained a lot of knowledge from your videos thank you John
Every day is a school day mate. 😊🦞
I think you deserve a medal, about the size of a frying pan, for dealing with those congers so well. As always, captivating and great entertainment, thank you so very much.
M
Haha. They are a handful.
Your videos always help me when I'm homesick for the coast and the ocean. Thank you for all you do!
It is our pleasure. I am glad that we can remind you of that happy place.
I am landlocked in mid south west France and a long way from the Med and the Atlantic and can only agree with your comment Maevan as I grew up on the south coast of the UK and spent lots of my younger life in and around the south coast
Hi John
Love this and all your videos , I have introduced my 2 grandsons (4 &6) to the joys of these interesting, educational and very enjoyable videos.
Take very good care .Thanks
Mike
I hope they enjoy the videos Michael. 👍🏻🦞
great video john!! missing the coastal foraging and beach cook-ups! 💪🏼
It’s the summer season mate. Won’t be long now until we can get back on the shore.
I'm bringing my little family to Cornwall next week. You've inspired me to have a little dabble while I'm there. Fingers crossed, keep up the good work!!
Best of luck to you all. 😊
John, I always enjoy the crab😮/lobster pot videos. (My favorite is foraging though.) However, today's video was a lot of fun to see. Absolutely love that pink lobster. Beautiful coloring. I also like the sides of the tail for the genetic mutation lobster. The conger eel is neat, but not something I would want to handle. I love that you are able to use the wrasse and second eel for your bait! Thanks for taking us along on your adventures!! All the best to the Fish Locker family!! ❤
The wrasse I would normally return alive but he had sustained a little bit of damage in the pot. So he was recycled.
Everybody loves the pot draws. Kudos, John!
Cheers mate.

Good to see signs of a healthy sustainable ecosystem. Great video.
Thanks mate
The way the camera is positioned when going thru the pots is awesome. Makes you feel like your on the boat great job sir keep it up.
I am glad you like it. I made the setup like that on purpose.
John ! Not just hauling pots, your videos are an education.
Could it be that apart from the conga's, that your change of location could be the reason for the varied colour lobsters ie
Maybe their diet? or is their more fresh water running in ?Could that be a reason. Sounds silly but when you chute a different location and you catch those, their must be a reason.
Anyway thankyou once again,so happy to have found your channel....❤
The congers were 100% becuase of the different location. But as for the colour variation of that special lobster he was just a rare freak.
Hi John, before I watch this video I want to tell you I just watched a podcast video with a guy who makes really good videos about fishing, positive energy and all things good. You kept that quiet! Anyway it was fantastic! I didn't think it was possible to admire you more than I already did.
That story about the youngster you took out fishing was quite something.
Just sharing what we love doing 😊
@waterboy8999 Link, please?
@@TheFishLocker I already new that John, that's probably why so many love what you do and how you do it, nothing fancy dancy or gimmicks. You've got into fishing when I'm sailing now, although nothing very interesting to report yet......
@@kimkinsey6652 the Fish Locker, Powerful lives Podcast, enjoy!
I am really getting into watching your videos. I learn something new every time. thanks again to the Anstey Sea Anglers for introducing me to your videos.

Thank you john, same to you bud.
Enjoyed as always John, hope you enjoyed the 2 lobsters 🦞.
Thanks Stuart.
Really enjoyed the video John 😀Must have been a very fun haul!! I can't remember seeing a european lobster with the white and green colour before so that was fun to watch.I'm glad that there was an opening in the weather condition so you were able to haul your pots.I'ts always exiting to see what is in your pots.Have a great day😀
I have never seen one quite like that. It was a very special one.
Beautiful lobsters! 👍 Caught my first ever lobster snorkelling yesterday. No measure with me but think it was just slightly undersize with only one battered claw. Let it go but it was exhilarating! Thank you for all the inspiration. Mark
Well done mate. Now you’ve cracked how to do it you’ll find lots more.
That little lobster was a beautiful colour and definitely a first seeing congers in the pots
He was a stunner wasnt he
wow, love the exotic colours in those lobsters this time, fantastic to see
Stunners weren’t they.
It‘s always a delight seeing one of your videos pop up. Keep up the good work!
I am glad that you enjoy them so much.
That sunrise😲😍
Beautiful isn’t it.
Enjoyable video as always. You never know what you will find
It’s like a lucky dip every time.
'Nice calm day' you picked mate. At least it gave you the opportunity to get out & check your pots & what an interesting mixture from the unusual lobster to the 2 legal boys Plus two eels. Looks like you had just enough time before scooting back to shore. Great video again thanks John, as usual but great viewing, Regards to all the family as well, cheers, Don from South Aust.
Yes mate it all worked out well didn’t it. 😊👍🏻🦞
Hello John! I love your channel! It is always interesting. I have never been fishing and have a shellfish allergy, but STILL love your content. Thank you for sharing your passions and your family with us. ❤
It is our pleasure Natalie. 😊🦞
Informative as always. Great video 😊

What a neat lobster
He was a very cool fella wasnt he
Brilliant John , quite an eventful uneventful day and extremely interesting. If only conga's ....da da da da daaaaa da oi! lol knew they were climbing into the pot for later bait they might not . The baby 'bino hopefully gets a long happy life, might even be famous in one of your books of educational thingamijigs. Thanks for a great trip. 👍
Who knows we may see him later in life? 😊🦞
Excellent catch there. Lots of nice things in the pots today!
This a real mixed bag wasnt it.

I find these vids to be very relaxing. The sound of the water, the sea-scape and interesting information.
And the beautiful sea animals.
I appreciate the lobster color discussion ...
My pleasure.
I’ve got some pots i need to get back into it. That’s what’s good about your videos. It gets people encouraged to get out.
If that’s the influence I have then I am happy with that. 👍🏻🦀🦞
Great video as always 👍 Keep up the good work pal 👍
My pleasure Ben.
Always enjoy your videos John.. thanks
Thank you Jim.
Love hearing about mutations and pigments. That's why I'm doing a biology degree and you actually inspired me John, so thanks mate 👍
Brilliant. Well done and good luck. 👍🏻
@@TheFishLocker thanks mate 👍
What I love about your vids is the depth of your knowledge that you give with engaging humour John 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I am simply sharing what I love doing. 😊
That lobster was amazing! You were talking about the pure blue ones, we have a species of crayfish in my area called cambarus monongalensis( or simply the blue crayfish), that look like small royal blue lobsters. They're kind of rare in my area, but go a little north and they're actually not too hard to find if you're willing to look. They like to hide in the extra hard to get to spots LOL. Great video and can't wait for more! As always I'm jealous and would love to love a life on the sea like you. Keep up the good work!
I bet they are cool looking little guys. 👍🏻
Nice pair of lobsters I was already cooking them in my mind 😂
Haha. 👌🏻😊🦞
Look at the guns all this dude… Hell yeah John, you’re kicking ass! Keep hand pulling those traps
💪🏻
Man!!! You about made me break my phone 😅😅😅 that monster snake came out of that pod it looked like it was about to come through the camera 😂😂😂 I straight screamed and tossed my phone away lmfao
Haha. They are mean looking aren’t they.
That rare one looked like it had seen a ghost. 😂
It was a very special one wasnt it.
Lovely shade of blue indeed John, I finally have two fresh aquariums of my own. The ocean has my respect cause keeping my fish healthy has proven quite challenging 😊.
Really enjoy your VIDEOS.
It is a fine line type of thing isn’t it. Great when it’s balanced but hard to maintain.
100% @@TheFishLocker , a fine line indeed. Now I test my water every morning now, praying I don’t do harm to any of them 😌.
Another awesome video. Thank you very much.
My pleasure Mike.
Always a pleasure watching your videos John. Never known conger eels in pots before
You get them from time to time.
After watching you haul your pots, I think my only chance at winning an arm wrestle with you would be just after 😂
Haha. Good luck.
Hello John, your videos are always so interesting. Thank you😀 and all the best to you.
Thank you very much.
Nice catch.
Thanks mate.
Thanks John. I enjoy EVERY pot run, it NEVER gets old. Would so enjoy some fresh lobster today, to bad I'm not in your neighborhood, hopefully some day.
Really enjoyed the various lobsters today. That rare one was beautifully colored. Happy you posted the photo of him at the end. His tail, like a peacock, made him stand out among the others. That flash of blue sure elevated him above the rest.
My best to the family, and safe sailing home, may it always be so.
Thank you Nancy and have a wonderful day. 😊🦞
Great show John!!
Thank you.
These videos are always nice but the kitchen is my favorite lol

Awesome John, awesome meal coming u & family way .Happy catching from Australia Nick
Have a good one Nick and take care mate.
Cracking video John ,some lovely marked lobbies there mate
Some stunners in this one.
Brilliant Video. Thank you John
Whey there's quite a bit of knowledge shared in this episode John didn't realise you could pull the boat under when your trying to steam out a stuck pot. Looked like those Congas were ready to have a chew I don't think I'd stick my hand in there either lol. Still loving the content and looking forward to the next 👍
Thanks mate. I hope the info we share is helpful to folks.
Great vid my friend!
Thank you.
I was surprised to see you using fresh bait in these pots.
Needs must.
I doubt its anything new to anyone but in poole when we get an eel we just grab it with a towel turn it on its back and slide ur other hand from its head to its back and it just goes to sleep. Makes it well easy to get the hooks out
Tonic immobility.
@@TheFishLocker i knew it was a thing! Cheers man do you think you could show it sometime? I find it fascinting and could be useful, no doubt u can tell us lot more about it then i
@@TheFishLocker how to make sure u havent put them back the water in that state would probably the most important now ive said it i guess.
I'd call that a successful day
Me too bud
Good morning. I have been wondering if you could address how much fuel and provisions go into one of these hauls, i.e. how much does it cost for a trip? I can't imagine that it is cost effective, though the therapeutics must make it all worthwhile. Thanks.
If you measure everything you do on how much it costs you are never in profit. But not all value is in money.z
@@TheFishLocker words to live by!

The best time to be out.
Sorry about my error in what I posted!

It’s surely is mate. Every day is a school day. 😉🦞
Nice pots John
Thank you Henry.
Hi John. Have you ever been to Nova Scotia? Your videos make me miss it so much. Love your channel! 💕🇨🇦
I have not yet. But I hope to.
I am impressed by all the lobsters you catch. even though you fish on such depth. Allthough most of them seem to be undersized. When I was little, my dad used to fish for lobsters. We had 5 old-fashioned wooden barrel shaped pots, and the most we got in a season was 7. all of them keepers. But we used to get much more crabs. once we got 29 crabs and a lobster in one pot. My dad tried with newer types of pots. Square ones, soccer round ones, the kind you use, but none of them fished nearly as well as the old wooden Barrel Shaped ones. those ones never got stuck on the bottom either. But they were quite heavy to haul. Still, it sadly is impossible to find new ones nowadays. Nobody makes them anymore.
I know a man who makes those withy pots. Send me a PM to the Fishlocker Fb page.
@@TheFishLocker Thank you for the offer. But I am just wish thinking here. I am incapable of fishing with pots anyway. I don't have a boat, and I am in a wheelchair. I don't have sufficient sitting balance to pull pots. I had to look up what you meant with withy pots. And I have never seen any pots like that before. They look to be even more oldstyle than the ones I was talking about. It is cool that people still make them.
Always a cool learning adventure watching your videos. I am not sure I could handle the waves you experienced this trip. I would most like be the chum king over the side. Have fun
Haha. They weren’t too bad. The boat can handle it.
As ever top content with loads of info

Thank you Paul. I also see you have seen the scammer trying to trick people. If you see that again please report it.
@@TheFishLocker indeed I have John, strangely enough these scammers are mainly from fishing content producers like Rokkit, Thresher fishing, Outdoor chef life and even Gidos fishing adventures, but that may also be due to the amount of fishing content I watch 🤔
Great video as always. Not just entertaining but so educational. Top class bro. Tight lines 🎣🎣🎣
The sea is a fickle mistress.
Aaah, she sure is.
This went very piratey 😂
Arrrrrr..

Show mercy to those who are shipwreck, for she is a fair but fickle mistress.
Interesting catch! James needs to grow up fast so he can help papa with hauling the pots. It looks like a hell of a workout if you have to do it all yourself.
On a rough day it is hard work!!
Looks yummy to me 😁
👌🏻🦞
Great video 🤙
Thanks bud.
Despite the conditions you managed a couple of eaters. Liked that lobster.
Aye mate. Not a bad one was it.
I luv these vids awesome job
Thank you.
John have you heard about catching scallops in crab pots using disco lights!? Would love to see an experiment
Yeah I’ve heard about it.
