      From my understanding they used to have support workers. I’ve heard they might hire some in the future but for now we all can be support. Including managers, salesmen, reset team, and other people I’ve seen that I don’t know what they do. Although I don’t believe that’s normal just for emergency situations. I was also surprised to find not all pepsi locations pay the same. Also the way things operate from plant to plant might be different too. Overall I’m very fortunate and blessed

    I thought for overtime the numbers should be different. It should be 8 hours paid at a rate of 14.43 + 28.86 = 43.29. What should have been $346.32 for working 8 hours over 40 in one week.

    • @LS2U
      @LS2U  Před měsícem +2

      That’s what it is they just separate the half time. Basically the whole 48 is calculated at the 28.85 then the 8hrs OT half time is added to it. That’s just the way they break it down but it’s all the same.

    • @LS2U
      @LS2U  Před měsícem +1

      Pepsi hires drivers without experience like myself. You should be good to apply. For the OT they just break it down in a weird way. Basically they calculate your full hours for the week at regular pay including the OT hours. Then they add the half time separately. It adds up the same just broken down differently

  • @sev812

    On average how many miles do you drive in a day and how much of it is Town/City driving or do you drive more Freeway/Highway ?

    • @LS2U
      @LS2U  Před 18 dny

      That’s a great question. From the warehouse to our first stop can be anywhere from about 1 - 50 miles. In between stops can be anything from less than a mile to 30 or so miles. It all depends on the route and how it’s routed. At times you’ll drive past a stop that’s later in the route. As for city vs highway miles that also depends on the route. If your stops are close to the warehouse you probably won’t be on the highway that much. Also some areas don’t have immediate access to the freeway. So you’ll mostly be driving through backroads. Tennessee is a very interesting place to drive trucks in. A lot of roads are kinda questionable. The more direct answer to your question is, on the manifest it tells you the total miles for the route. I’ve seen anywhere from 35 - 185. Most of the highway miles is usually from the warehouse to the first stop. Plus back to the warehouse at the end of the day.

    • @LS2U
      @LS2U  Před měsícem

      During orientation we just watched some videos. Then answered some questions based on what we learned. For physical testing they might just look at you and say “yeah you can do this job”. If they do decide to test you they’ll probably have you move some cases in the warehouse. Overall I wouldn’t stress it but it depends on the management there.

      @davidwatson1268 Před měsícem

      Yeah, I think you are doing route sales delivery delivering to Dollar General, Family Dollar, chain convenience stores, mom & pop stores but you gotta put that product on the shelves tho. If you had a route that delivers to the big chain grocery stores plus Walmarts, Targets, Sam's Clubs, Costco, BJ's etc all you have to do is drop the product off & get it checked in but the merchandisers put that product up. I think some trucks might have enough orders on the truck for about 3 grocery stores then they go back to get another load to deliver to 3 more stores.

      Depends on the position. My brother is also a truck driver and works for pepsi. If you've been there a few years and have a dedicated route, then you'll work longer hours and get paid more. New guys do routes that the older guys can't get to at the moment, and they also work less hours (4 ten hour shifts when my brother started).

    • @LS2U
      @LS2U  Před měsícem

      I think the location you work for, seniority, availability, time of year, and management are major factors. For example in the beginning I was working 4 days while training. Then Saturday became an option so I started working 5 days till now. Recently hours are being cut so i'm back to 4 but I can finesse 3, which I did this week. I did 6 days maybe one week but that was purely by choice and optional. Overall you have to get a good understanding of the work environment you're in and make it work for you.
