It should be noted that while most Sonic games do indeed show him unable to swim, this game's tutorials specifically tell you Sonic can't *breathe underwater*
Well duh, most hedgehog can’t. However some hedgehogs can swim in the water by repelling with their limbs

@CircusClownCarnival the underwater levels are timed and heavily pressured levels, cause if you're underwater too long or without an airbubble then Sonic dies after a short countdown.

It is impossible to move through a solid. Even when you are digging, with a shovel for instance, you are simply relocating the solid dirt and moving through the air, not moving through the solid directly.
@@yoshifan3611Counterpoint: the same logic applies to swimming. The limits of the human language force us to say that you're "moving through the water", but what you're actually doing is moving the water out of the way by pushing against it.

While you can't move through a solid, you _can_ move through a pile of small solid objects. Think of ball pits, or even just burying your feet in the sand!

Colors was and still is good. The remaster just soured people’s opinions, but ONLY the remaster was bad due to being rushed. The original still holds up.
