  • The House of Creed have an awesome line up of fragrance's but all I seem to hear about is Aventus and Green Irish Tweed....and while both are amazing perfumes, lets explore deeper across their library of fragrances.
Both Himalaya and Royal Oud are exceptional perfumes that I would like to shine a light on
I'm in love with perfume and beautiful smells. I deeply love niche perfumes and find that they are unique and incredibly diverse. I am Marcelo and I'm the Niche Fragrance Collector.

I am a judge (magistrato in italy) and royal oud is the one i wear in the courtroom when i want to feel confident, in my suit and toga. It's like a natural projection of my personality in that moment. It's not a classic oud fragrance and i love it cuz of this. Real gem

Royal Oud is amazing. Probably the best fragrance for that James Bond look. Masculine, spicy, calming, bold.
I do agree that there isn’t the classic oud smell. Which can be misleading. But I’m very happy the scent is the scent it is, although it should be renamed to Royal Cedar. Then make an Oud fragrance that is much more intense and heavy

Himalaya is truly truly the underrated among all Creeds, I reach out to it more often than Aventus, Aventus Absolu, GIW, and SMW. Great Review

  • @JT-rx1eo
    @JT-rx1eo Před 2 lety +20

Its interesting, Aventus was released in 2010 and Royal Oud was released the next year. But Aventus' success completely overshadowed the release of Royal Oud, so it was like it didn't even exist. People were anticipating the release of Viking some years later as the "next" release after Aventus when it was Royal Oud all along. And.....many people think Royal Oud is Creed's best. I have it ranked 2nd behind Bois du Portugal. Here's the thing about Royal Oud:
It gives off a golden vibe, like literally the color gold. Creed's marketing for this invokes a Royal Persian palace, and I think Royal Oud is the most appropriate fragrance for the coronation of a King.
Himalaya is OK, but just that. I just received my bottle of Creed Royal Water, and I like that better than Himilaya. As far as "hidden gem" or underrated Creeds go, I would nominate EROLFA, Royal Water, and even Royal Oud. EROLFA, with its photorealistic ambergris sea spray smell is the greatest true aquatic/oceanic fragrance ever, in my opinion.

      100% AGREED
Bois du Portugal was my FIRST Creed purchase. While standing at the Creed boutique counter at Nordstrom, I could smell something that just stood out far and beyond the others. After spraying and sampling for what seemed like forever, I finally found it. I told the sales rep to bag it up immediately…I knew I had to have it!
Royal Oud was also a standout that same day, but my mind was set on the Bois. I eventually ordered the Royal Oud online. To me they are the TWO BEST Creed fragrances. I choose the Bois du Portugal over the Royal Oud when I’m REALLY feeling arrogant and want the everyone to know that they don’t belong in the same room as me 🤣
I acquired SMW recently. It’s good also, but BdP and Royal Oud rule.

Smells like you're sailing the Mediterranean and sea Spray and fresh maritime air sprays into your face. Further, I think CREED is great and not merely "good". Can't release frags as iconic as Green Irish Tweed, EROLFA, Royal Oud, an Aventus - which literally has been as popular and influential in men's fragrances in its first decade as Chanel No. 5 was in its first decade (it's truly the masculine analogue of Chanel No. 5), and not be objectively considered GREAT. Even if someone personally doesn't like their scents. I don't like YSL Kouros at all but have to concede its impact. Royal Oud for wintertime with 2 sprays only, especially on the jacket when you go out. And with Himalaya. If you spray it on clothes and when someone passes you. They will probably love the smell. Being from the Middle East , and living most my life in Saudi Arabia, I got accustomed to the smell of Oud decades ago. To me Royal Oud doesn’t smell like any Oud I know! I’m not sure it even has Oud. To me, I’m not sure what to call the note I get . Root beer? Licorice? Cola ?
Silver mountain water is my absolute favorite from the house, followed by Mellisime Imperial and Erolfa. Strangely enough, all of these perfumes I mentioned, plus green Irish Tweed were created by Pierre Bourdon.

However if I just take it as a composition and a fragrance, I love wearing Royal Oud; wonderfully masculine, confident scent....enjoy suiting up and wearing this one😎

HIMALAYA SHOULD BE A CROWD PLEASER. It is fresh, crispy, clean and masculine. Royal is a refind fragrance and mOre than likely an acquired taste. It is how ever a masterpiece. Creed has its own DNA. Their pricing is not for every one which is understandable. That being said the many clones mainly of Aventus smell the same or similar in first spray but just don’t have the quality or feel of Creed.

It’s always tough when choosing a fragrance. Because as you mentioned, you want it for it’s unique scent (in this case a very realistic ‘green’ fig) versus a fragrance that has ‘beast mode’ elements to it.
My thoughts are…do you like it? Can you pick up on the fragrance? Does it make you feel good?….I would go with that.
If you want a fragrance that really projects so others can pick up, then I would recommend to you Hacivat (Nishane):czcams.com/video/wq8dU-4XB9I/video.html

GIT; is vibrant, aromatic with a beautiful wood base. Classic fragrance that will never date. Masculine vibes, clean fresh
Himalaya: Bright citrus opening that stays fresh throughout the fragrance's but it has a wonderful spicy component (due to the nutmeg and black pepper) that gives a new dimension to the fragrance.
I've also found that men like the smell and gravitate to GIT but woman not so much.
