Gordon Lightfoot fans pay tribute to the late musician in his hometown

- A public visitation will be held for Canadian folk music icon Gordon Lightfoot from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St. Paul's United Church in Orillia, Ont. Lightfoot died on Monday at age 84, and tributes have been pouring in from around the world ever since.

Lightfoot was certainly one of Canada's greatest and most loved exports. I loved his effortless musical weaving of stories. My late mother (🏴), my late wife (🇨🇦), my children (🇨🇦🇬🇧🇦🇺🇰🇪), and even their sons enjoyed and continue to enjoy his talents. Few artists can claim to have had fans across four generations.
50 years ago started playing guitar and his music is what I started playing and singing.
RIP Gorden Lightfoot. you will be sorely missed. Your music will live on and touch the lives of others for many years to come ❤

I remember when John Prine passed it was so sad and then I thought of all that music he left us. I feel the same way about Gordon Lightfoot, his music will always be here. Condolences to his family and friends. What an incredible life he had!

I went on a Caribbean vacation and Kobe Bryant died. I went to Hawaii and Gordon Lightfoot died. I wonder if famous people should pay me to not go on beach vacations?
