He says he’s not in love with someone else and he was enchanted to meet her as well!My heart. And the song “Long Live”…forget about it. I get emotional every time!

I have a special memory with Speak Now. It came out when I was in college. I was dealing with a crush that didn't like me back, people who were criticizing me or underestimating me because I'm autistic, and burdened with anxiety and the college burnout. I love this album so much for helping me get through it all.

About the music: when she’s the sole writer it means she wrote the music too, which is the case for Speak Now… she writes the melodies (even when she writes to track) but she also writes the music sometimes as well, it really depends on this stage in her career

P.S. I hope when it's time for TTPD, that Carmen or Jen read what Taylor wrote on release day and the epilogue(the first time we get one, for all the other albums we always got a prologue). Long live is probably the greatest dedication to fans song I've ever heard. It makes me smile so much, and when she played it at eras tour it's just a full circle for her and the band. Good for them!

She starts them all on either guitar or piano. Then she presents them whichever producer she's working with who contributes beats, extra instrumentation and sometimes lyrics. They tend to guide the finished recording into whichever style she's looking for but she IS the songwriter.
As someone who saw her in Sydney before the set list change, I’m so glad I got to sing Long Live with her! TTPD will be amazing live though and you guys will have an amazing time 🫶
I went to the eras tour last November and experiencing the speak now act was magical!! Both songs really hit me, so now every time I listen to them all the feelings of being in the concert come back to me.
I get why you don’t listen to the whole albums, but I hope you get around to it on your own time! Her greatest non-breakup-related tearjerkers, in my opinion, are featured on this album and Lover respectively. Please do react to the Eras movie too!!!

About the album: - Speak Now was Taylor's first album to sell $1M+ on it's first week of release. - The album originally was supposed to be named Enchanted, but her label thought that title too childish. Taylor went back to review the work she had done for the album and realized the theme of "things you want to say" then appropriately renamed it Speak Now. - Taylor worked on the melodies herself on this album. (actually Taylor didn't start writing to track until the album 1989; the first song she ever wrote to track was Out Of The Woods. Albums 1-4 Taylor was the one creating the melodies.) I usually give a little back story on the songs, but both of these songs and most of Speak Now is pretty self explanatory. Instead I thought I would introduce you to her band. She is not out there writing a sheet music, I don’t think. But for a lot of her songs, most of them i would say, she gets the melody in her head. Owl City is really just Adam Young, but you're correct. Taylor had a sort of crush on him, mostly coming from a point of being enamored with him as an artist and musician. Adam responded with a Enchanted (Adam's Version lol) once he found out it was about him.
This made me mad. I am shocked fans of Taylor don´t know that Taylor does not only write the lyrics. No. Taylor writes the song aka the lyrics AND melodies, producers help with instrumentals sometime and of course production, but she is highly involved in that too, they make what she wants... Taylor is a great musician and producer, not just a writer. When Aaron sent her instrumentals for folklore, she wrote the song aka main melody and lyrics over that instrumental. The instrumentals are not part of songwriting, but Taylor is a great person and thinks the instrumentals did help her to write so she gives writing credits for those eventhough it is not traditionally considered a part of the definition of songwriting. BUT, when she wrote Speak Now she wrote every melody and lyrics aka the songs and also instrumental melodies too, no matter what production was put on it. Please do not undermine her like this OMG.

This record...(the original, not Taylor's version) was my mom's & my FIRST time that we spent analyzing EVERY lyric, all of her CD booklet for the Easter eggs. Listening to ya'll hit that first song made me tear up, missing my mom.
Also I am going on a vacation today...the one I woke up from my coma in February dreaming about. I want it to be everything I dreamed about. I just want to enjoy myself with my husband and then my dad and brother on the weekend.

Songwriting isn't just about lyrics, it includes writing the melodies too, the nuances, the pauses, the delivery. So yes, when you say she wrote this album all by herself, she wrote the melody as well. That's how her songwriting process is. Of course she collaborates with producers too like the examples you gave but she definitely writes her own melodies either by piano or by guitar.
