It looks like there might be a step missing when putting on the front wheel…you showed us the quick release but left out the taking out the bolt secured with two nuts. The way the bolt is set in there and secured by nuts, do I even need the quick release and can I just attach the wheel using the bolt already in place ?
The front wheel bolts are fixed in place and Not movable.
Yes you have to use the supplied quick release.
It is good and surprisingly handy to be able to quickly remove the wheel for transport

I have just bought a Valk. The disc break in in the slot but the wheel is stiff in the disc break rotator. The wheel doesn't spin freely. Any tips?
Make sure the wheel is aligned correctly. Ie that it is straight. Also that there is no packaging left anywhere. Other than that adjust the breaks at the handle bars to loosen them off a bit.

I’ve just purchased a valt xt6 dual suspension bike. Do you know how to get air into the back shock, I let some air out of the valve and it dropped straight away and is now sitting metal on metal and I’ve tried pumping air back into it and it’s not going back up.

It sounds like the valve is still open allowing it to get out as soon as you put it in?
