  • John makes a chesty season record prediction for the Lions. The crew talks concerns with Aaron Glenn's true ability as a coordinator now that he has pieces to work with on defense.

    My takeaway from this week is that every game on the Lions schedule is winnable, and Vegas agrees. They have the Lions favored in 13 games, but I think 13-4 is the bar. They could've done it last year if not for DAL shenanigans, so raise the bar another win. Fight for that #1 seed. Besides, I would never bet against a Dan Campbell-led team.

      And all evidence shows the players reported properly and the ref screwed it up...while the NFL tried to cover his butt after the game only to reiterate that the Lions did everything right in reporting, but the ref screwed it up.

      @@thomaswatkins3686 I guess You Tube didn't like a word I used last time, so take 2: That's exactly what a trick play is, trying to pull a fast one while the defense is not expecting it. And all evidence shows the Lions players reported correctly, but the ref called the wrong number as an eligible player. Even the NFL "training video" that came out after shows the Lions did everything correctly, but the ref did not. Lions should have won that game if it wasn't for ref interference. But we're used to that kind of stuff happening in DAL and GB.🙄🤦🤷

    What a time to live.
    An honest expectation that the lions get 14 wins. From a normally fairly reserved show.
    I just hope that the every-sunday-magic of simply wanting to see the lions win doesnt erode into an expectation that the only game that matters is the last one.

    I say if Lions want to show they are SB worthy, they need to beat SEA (0-7 vs SEA in past decade), DAL, and SF (possibly a game for #1 seed and bye) in the regular season.
    Last year it was KC (win), SEA (OT loss), and DAL (ref interfence), so falling just short of the SB could've been expected.

    • @adgee5401
      @adgee5401 Před 19 dny

      Seattle and Dallas didn’t matter last season. You really missed the bowl over 4 plays. Not because of who they did or didn’t beat during the regular season

    • @jeremyzier8706
      @jeremyzier8706 Před 19 dny +1

      @@adgee5401 All games are proof of concept games...Do you have the talent, the plan, and the desire to win vs good teams? Lions had a plan and a desire to win, but they needed more defensive talent to help contain opposing passing games. The trio of SEA WRs that DET had trouble containing and the 97yd TD vs DAL are evidence of that. The secondary got rebuilt with FAs and Rookies this offseason, so a run of SEA, DAL, and SF in the regular will test if they can contain passing games, or if QBs will throw for 300-400 yds per game vs DET.

    15-2 because two hiccups happen. So they will get three byes. Week 5, mini-bye (2 weeks after Thanksgiving), and the third in week 19 after clinching the #1 seed. That way they get maximum rest and game planning for the Super Bowl push. It was looking pretty bad and somehow AG got the most out of Jerry, Sutton, Vildor.

  • @itinerantpatriot1196
    @itinerantpatriot1196 Před 22 dny +1

    14-3? I would love that but I think playing in the NFC North is going to dampen that one. Green Bay is going to be tough. The Bears are going to be tough. The Vikings are the one team I think they can sweep. The schedule gets tough toward the end with one stretch where they are playing four out of five on the road. I see 11-6 but a team that is better than they were last year in spite of the one additional loss. It's a tough schedule. Dallas, Frisco, Green Bay, Jacksonville, Buffalo, and Houston are all teams I believe will be in the playoffs. If they can go 4-2 against them I'd say that's a pretty good run. I think they are going to have to win on the road to get to the Super Bowl but I also believe they can win on the road. They have as good a chance as any to make it to the big game. Unfortunately, Dallas and Frisco are going to have the advantage of playing in weak divisions. I think one of those two will have home filed throughout.
