This is by far the best video on RCM I have come across on CZcams. Thank you Mr. Mike. Please can you do a video on MSG 1,2 & 3

Guys RCM is not used anymore in modern aircraft. Ever since the 747 we have MSG based aircraft maintenance programs, with MSG-3 being the latest. We might even change the name to MSG-4 soon based on all the changes / versions of MSG-3. We still do FMEA/FTA reliability analysis in addition to MSG-3 as part of safety requirement, this is a regulatory requirement.

Mike, this is a really interesing presentation. Thank you for posting it. I am an RCM Practitioner within the UK Aviation industry, and found you approach very informative. Especially the references to piston-powered system components which, I dont tend to deal with. Thanks again!

This is an awesome video on RCM. I’m in mining, and in reliability specifically. We have failed EGT sensors on many of our haul truck engines... and subsequently have had a few failures without warning. Can you link to the video on engine condition monitoring? Very interested in that.

The litigious nature of our culture drives A&P to manage repairs very conservatively against their highest risks - the law suit. Not against failure probability or condition reliability indices. IMHO the greatest cost and risk in GA is abuse of the legal system.

Why aren't Aeronautical Engineers allowed to talk to Maintenance by stature? Does it still hold today? Just curious.

Time before Overhaul. How long the manufacturers recommend you run the engine before removing it for overhaul.

You didn’t cover one aspect of the manufacturer’s maintenance guide and that is CYA. You didn’t tell me to inspect this and it failed so it’s your fault.
