- Elon Musk spoke at the amazing 2016 SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition.
This is an edited version, showing his replies to questions about his preference of levitation technology. He prefers wheels as being more achievable technology for subsonic speeds, and said that successful companies need to limit the number of "miracles in series".

Compresser engine wall with wheels. Sucks remaining pressure from the front to the rear. This sounds fun!
Graphite skid pads 4 up front two on the back if not 4 since wind resistance will not be a factor. The pads would work easily and wouldn't add to much weight to the Pods . Being in a Vacuum or near solves many issues . This would provide stability and could be used for braking and control of G-forces during turns or curves . I have alot of ideas for this but have no job so wish I could get with a company like Hyperloop who's doing stuff with this Tech here in Texas I believe ?
