Hyperloop station, airlock, and passenger transfer

  • Hyperloop: The Alpha proposal used side opening doors, difficult with the high internal pressure (10 tons per sq M). The doors would be bulky and could cause air leaks.
The seating module can be loaded with passengers in a relaxed way.
Very short turnaround for the capsule, and virtually no vacuum pumping required.

Who came up with this? It should be considerd

    Very clever

An interesting idea. I'm thinking that there might be advantages to having the end hinge up rather than down - for both the design of the stations and what might happen in failure mode - but it looks like it might be a feasible solution. Note that some cargo airplanes - chiefly military ones - are already loaded in a similar manner.

Hi Alan, thanks for your comment. Yes, you’re right, it is better to lift up the nose, this video was my first design concept.
See my website for discussions about possible station issues and designs, I like the idea of the moving seating modules that travel to the passenger area, it could give a very efficient and compact station.

Emergency exit inside the tube is a challenge, my solution is to have an emergency walkway over the nose and tail, so passengers can get out if necessary.

Scroll down to the emergency section.

clever like an old 90s VCR loading a tape, what could possibly go wrong. well its complicated technology and the horrendous cost of per km of maglev type tube track maintenance is just not viable let alone putting it all inside a vacuum tube.
at the end of the day Jet aircraft still win the high speed passenger transportation supremacy contest.

This method is very expensive and unfeasible. Imagine the level of machinery that will be required to lower and lift that whole hind part.

Is it clear yet that hyperloop is a ridiculous idea.
You need *airlocks* to board a glorified train.
A TGV can do about half the speed with many times the passengers, and no pressure rated pipe running across the country side.

Even this no.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_92_(motorvognsett) a tiny 2 car dmu csrries more people than hyperloop. And can make stops fasaar easier
