Did you know you can make spikes from sticks. You can place a stick in the ground and hit the end to make a spike. The spikes protect agains mutants and cannibals even the big red guys and you can reinforce the spikes with 3 rocks. Also ive been watching since episode 1 👍👍

They're very hard to see as a player though too and do a TON of damage.
I did know! I played single players messing around with stuff and found out! They do SO MUCH damage but even works on players! I think about 3 spikes with no armor kills a player
If you've been watching since episode 1, them you would know that he knows that you can make spikes from logs. He made a spike wall around his base up on the cliff. I believe it was episode 2 or 3.

I've prepared my dinner, sat on my computer and was gonna watch something while eating. And 10mins ago, you uploaded a new episode and made my evening.
as a huge lotr fan i was even more excited for this episode lol
There are some really cool ice caves on the map in wich you can build really nice and cousy interiors without using any cheats or bugs.

when i was building my mansion, i found a LOT of cases where i had to use half logs as struts on support corners, or else i couldn't remove certain supports on the interior that i didn't want in the way. looks pretty decent too
Tip: You can use the axe on tree stumps to get rid of them. It will turn to a small pile of wood (you cannot pick up) and then disappear after a few minutes
the freedom for creativity to build in this game is quite impressive! your colossal project is looking great!

When I played the first forest I would rarely chop down trees in a forest that dense if you throw a dynamite you can get 5 to 8 trees with one dynamite quick and fast.

Quick fact: The tower itself is actually called Orthanc, it's the entire fortress that's called Isengard. Keep up the good work, BB!

Rereading the trilogy now and I just finished the part where the Ents flood Isengard. It describes them trying to break the tower itself but it is protected by some magic. The tower was built by the Dunedain, Saruman just occupies it.

Been loving this series please continue!! quick tip: it seems like youve been missing the Pouches that the cannibals drop after you have sliced them. Try to go over their body and make sure the dont drop anything next time. Pouches can be opened in your inventory for extra supplies.

I know you don't "need" the corner half pieces but you can use them, plus the actual walls themselves once you get them in, to recycle some of the support pillars. Can give you a cleaner look on the inside without so many logs going from floor to ceiling.

when building always have meds on a quick slot. it helps a lot with hard and sudden attacks
I put in 10 hours on a small base with a wall around the building, reminds me of the American West forts from back in the 17 and 1800's. Was considering calling my base The Alamo. I still need to grind out more traps and reinforced spikes. The constant attacks worth 20+ mobs is tiring, especially if you started building without collecting any weapons, just default gear as soon a you start.

There should be like a privet server where builder YT for sons of the forest to showcase their builds because 1 mega project is cool, but it'd be cooler if 8 people did their own mega project and there was 8 huge structures like these. I would probably start uploading SOTF content if there was such a server.
I've been impressed by many builds the SOTF YT have been building, like Farket's big wall, your amazing structures you've built so far and other YT. But it'd be cool if all were on the same island public island instead of local.

Hey Broadbent! A building tip ive learned!
If you set up a plank on a section and then put a robe on it, you can fill the whole thing with planks and have the rope on it at the same time! Then you can make a hole on the middle of the plank to have a way for you to climb up the rope you placed!

There is a setting that you can enable in game under gameplay (maybe its only multiplayer) where you can disable structure damage. as the host it makes it so cannibals cant damage your structures which is very helpful when you want to just build. You can turn the option off at will if you need to destroy something.

@Broadbent Did you know you can put items on Quickslots now? Just hover over the item in the inventory and press a number from 1-9.

You can put 3/4 logs into the corners for bigger supports. Idk if the larger the support is the stronger it is or if they'll add that in later?
Good base location
Watching your video (and previous floating base) I came to decision to build my next base, on the ground level, with two half logs as pillars - not to build floating base, but to ensure that attacks wont torn down whole building.
Build giving me a fear of heights
To get that under slope, could you make a ramp/stairs and use that for the ascetics?

Awesome tower design Broadbent! Yeah they got to fix the phasing through walls. The Mutants and cannables can phase through defensive and any built wall as well. It is very annoying. I am going to wait to build any serious base until ENDNIGHT fixes that. Every content creator I watch has the same problem even Farket has been plagued by the Matrix Mutants.
