I like how you felt bad for Kelvin after hitting him with that log and making him lose the stereo, so you built him a chair so he could just rest and hang out.
the better version of this is having the sticks inside the structure because when they are fortified with stones the stones must get hit for damage to be applied to the spikes themselves. so its best to have the rocks "armored" behind other structures to ensure you dont have to replace them
@@chadmurphy8927 nah i dont do youtube. but this video over complicates shit tbh. lay a line of logs down where you want the spike wall at. put sticks infront of the logs but as close as possible, once you place those sharpen them and then put sticks in between those so theres no gaps for enemies to get into. sharpen those and then add rocks once that ground layer is made now place a stick near the log and try to get the dotted line to line up so the placement marker is ontop of those ground logs. place the stick and jump on the log and now you can place them on the log its self. once you get the sticks on the log, sharpen them and add rocks to them, then do it again so theres also no gaps on this row. once foritied with rocks again then add quarter logs and then another row of full logs and repeat the stick steps. you dont want to go higher than 2 log layers, this will trick the AI into thinking they can do their climb over animation over your "fence" but because of the sticks they cant. behind your spike fence add stairs or a ramp so you can attack from behind and your golden you can even put down a row of normal log walls first, THEN put down horizontal logs directly behind them and add sticks ontop of those so when you sharpen them they clip through the log wall i have it so i removed every other log from the log wall so i can still spear through my walls or shoot arrows through. ultimately you wana have another row of spike walls around 2-3 logs infront of your main spike wall for when those long john guys come along. they will glitch through your first wall
@@chadmurphy8927 make a defensive wall then just place sticks behind it so when you axe them into spikes they'll clip through the defensive wall so the pointy end is outside your base while the base of the spike is inside and protected.
I know there's 'better' ways to do it where you clip the spikes through walls, but this is the most aesthetically pleasing one for me. It's straight up a spiked wall, and looks awesome. The amount of editing you did when you were jumpcutting for your stick placements and sharpening is also respectable. Hahaha
Dope video! I like the no dialogue and the playful nodding along with the tunes - just gameplay that explains itself. 8:35 almost made me spit out my milk.
Great build! Seeing you methodically build it shows you've memorized and optimized the design. Checking out your other videos, you're really good at mastering things. Also, I like the no dialogue approach. I've thought about making similar videos to this with Sons of the Forest or Valheim. I haven't gotten used to my commentary voice yet, but using it could open up a lot more potential. I subscribed, let's see where you take it!
Thank you for taking your time to make this. I made a stucture sort of like this, took some time.... The canibals don't much care, they jump over them :/
Dude I don’t know why but why tf was this hitting the right spot, at first the sound of the rain and then the boom box on kelvin too 😎 lol great vid bro 🤘
if you use a creek that has a decent size trench you can line the sides with spiked walls, have it lead to a gate and leave it open to have a automatic cannibal cheese grader ;)
Spiked walls like this are better than the regular palisades because the spikes prevent the mutants and cannibals from just phasing through your walls. The AI is also dumb and will keep ramming themselves into the spikes until they die. It also takes less logs to build just a spiked wall and you just have to farm up stones+sticks in advance.

take him with u when u go to a place where a boom box is and there u can tell him to take it with him. ;) both of u have to be pretty close to the box.
nice design but without stones you would have to keep doing them again, maybe put the stairs in last if you can so you can reach to put stones in then put stairs in?
I think the best part of this is Kel just hanging out with his boom box.

Why would we need a blueprint if we can already do it

Amazing fence
However, I Think you need a line of 1/4 log spikes out front to force the babies to jump further back so they hit the spikes
Got a sub from me. Great defensive wall plus your very funny without talking 😅
I’ve never seen so much output of emotion through no talking at all and only actions
the choice of music on some of those radios are too good man

looks great, you just need rocks to fortify it so youre not always repairing it.
How would you fortify them with the sticks in the planks?

Wont they break after one use, unless you add stone for reinforcing the stick

Wait, can we get the radio to our base??? Would be so cool to have some music there!

I love you for the build, I hate you for the grenade
Are the spikes able to be reinforced by rocks still while they're in the wooden structure?
uh huh
nice so i just need 500 logs, 550000 sticks and 1,5 million stones to cover my base with it! nice idea thank you

Idk why, but after he spent so much time doing it my first thought when he finished it was, "blow.it.up" and he did as I said it 😂😂

7:55 that beat drop was 🔥
They added so many tracks for this game its incredible if you like em you can look for the OST its over 40 songs.
Noice!
Put your stakes underneath so they dont get damaged. Less maintenance that way
DJ ..Calvin … ez does it buddy.
can you just put sticks on any ramped surface? Or does it have to be low enough to "trick" the game into thinking you are putting them in the ground?
nope
It would be ideal if they made a blueprint for the spikes, too hazardous to have to be around em building
I love how kelvin just bring your boombox but he can't hear anything
Did enemies remove the sticks when climbing on them or sth?
the sticks get destroyed after hitting an enemie 3 times, unless there reenforced with stones, makes them last longer
I might be capping but I am pretty sure you can hold more than 2 quarter logs at a time.
Back here for Version 1.0. I want this wall xD
When he broke the boombox that's best moment of this video
Spend hours completey fortifies camp.
Cannibals spawn inside walls.
waaaait.... how did you give kelvin the radio???
do spiked walls actually do something against enemies or are they just there to look good?
They'll get hurt by them. Especially the little crawling dudes, they die to them pretty easily.
My first time seeing Canibal destroy the spike in ok ne swing.
so i wanted to see how effective it was, took out my tech armor and knocked me out. pretty good lmao!
That is a dumb way to lose your tech armor 🙄
That is where I built my base it's the best place. You can get water to drink from a puddle with a dead body in it literally 15 second run
dunno, the head-bopping at 7:10 to Kelvin was the best part somehow
