    Does the pull initiate the twist of the torso, followed by the kick - or is it the kick that initiates the torso twist, followed by the pull?

    Recently back in the pool after a 15 year lay off (now in my 60s) and gave this technique a go after watching your videos. 4th time back in the pool and did 2k and only stopped because the session was over. It really does feel a very efficient way to swim longer distances. Thank you.

    Great to see the catch-pull so clearly and in many different water types. I see how you keep your arm out and balanced until the catch. Pull doesn’t start until it reaches parallel with the catch arm. Nice demonstration. Thank you!

    You do a wonderful demonstration, Adam, but just tell me: do you only turn to 90 degrees sideways when catching a breath - and on the non-breathing sides - turn just to about 45 degrees? On another video you stress the always "still head" so turning sideways would apply to every stroke.

    • @adamwalker32
      @adamwalker32  Před 3 lety +8

      No completely different mechanics. Feet turn to take fromt arm in to the water. No spearing of front arm or driving. Only pulling on your side, therefore pulling less body mass, maximising more momentum and glide. Front arm is deeper, recovery arm wider. More things but gives you an idea.

      @@karlashmeedavlasta6365, hand position in recovery, gliding, you can see body rotation in gliding, this allow you to extend your hands and gliding few cm more. Head position, but not in this video, cause he swimming in open water, and he has to raise his head slightly more. Kicking, you can see he extends his leg and do single kick but strong synchronising with gliding.
      All the above allowed you to swim faster, longer, with less effort, and this is the difference, for people like me who are not competitive swimmer.
