    Do you have a camp or classes? If so, what country? I'm a Pro bodybuilder and triathlete. I have 2 Ironman under my belt, but the swim needs work. I don't feel like the pool translates well in the ocean. I could be wrong but I get in the ocean and it feels very different. Any info on what you offer besides vimeo would be greatly appreciated.

    I just did my biggest open sea swim 10 mins ago... I think I am mastering your stroke now.... I know when I'm wrong.. and I just know when it's right... as it just feels like your dancing in the water... like bouncing.... I just swam across the Santa Ponca Bay to Peguera then back... and this is someone who couldn't even swim any freestyle prior to trying yours last Summer!! It was the foot flick I wasn't sure if I was getting it right.... but I think I have it now.... and your right.. it just feels brilliant when it all clicks in! I am not tired atall....my first 5km open sea swim... and now I wanna go even further!! I did have a wee bit of a panic when I was right in the middle.... but I just got my rhythm and breathing real good...My biggest problem was this was first time with a Swim Buoy... and the bloody waist strap wasn't tight enough!! haha....almost slipping down over my ass!! so had to sort that out mid water!! but great things... had my home made isotonic water bottle in it and a towel etc.... LOVED IT!! Like I said last summer... I'm struggling to get on my bikes (and it's my job!!) as all I want to do is swim...haha.... Thanks again Adam.. I'm glad I found your channel... u made this old bloke a happy camper! and I'd still love to come to one of your camps... (if u ever do 1 in Mallorca!!) - cheers Martin-Mallorca-Guiding

    hello, you are a courageous person and a great athlete, I read your book, man against the ocean, your problems with the arm and your will gave an unexpected effect, creating a unique, effective, beautiful crawl swimming technique (due to the impulse from the hips and not only) I would like more people to know about it and we learned, it’s a pity not everyone has the opportunity to meet with you or get lessons) I would like more videos with individual elements of the technique, even using the example of other swimmers, the popularization of swimming was and has become, I consider one of the goals of training. Sincerely.

    Thank you for the tips. Would be great if you can post a footage demonstrating the underwater movements, especially the rotation (max. 90 degrees?), the arm pull and its upper arm angle relative to the shoulder. I am curious to know when you actually apply the force of pull - ie. at what angle of torso (shoulder) the force is applied. Thank you.

    t's so sad, that there is nothing new with a free video, all just the same :( I think i got the technique and it feels good, but i am too slow, cant imagine to do a kilometer in 15 mins, it takes twice longer for me. Swimming in a lake for about 2,5km total and it takes ~1 hour. Everything feels great but the speed

    • @henchfit4983
      @henchfit4983 Před 5 dny

      I have the same problem; nothing I do can increase my speed. It has stopped me having any shoulder problems, which is great, but I'm beginning to think that the stroke doesn't work for everyone in terms of speed as everyone's shape and biomechanics are slightly different. Due to the time it takes to rotate your entire body it is also hard to increase your stroke rate.

    • @adamwalker32
      @adamwalker32 Před 4 dny

      Hi. Body mechanics’s doesn’t effect doing the stroke. It’s learning how to kick effectively and get the timing correct with the pull. I have athletes from all abilities and body mechanics who have mastered the stroke. The athlete I’m with now is 5 foot 5 inches tall doing a big glide with great speed. Have you followed my system on Vimeo or learnt the steps with me in person? All the best

      Hi Adam. I have been learning the stroke from your vimeo tutorials and practicing it for 1.5 years now. Still cannot do any faster than 2 minutes per 100m, which is very frustrating. I live in NZ and was in the UK last xmas and tried to get a private lesson but you were unavailable. At this point I don't think the stroke will allow me to get the speed I need. Is everyone meant to have the same stroke rate as you (43 spm), or do you think as a more muscular person I should try aiming for 50 + ?

    • @nomnq
      @nomnq Před 3 dny

      @@henchfit4983 Your stroke rate is bound to rotation speed. I think it is possible to rotate slower, but if you try to rotate faster you will see what is the point. I come up with the idea, that there is a optimal rotation speed, a comfortable one

    Good technique to adapt. Tried this week while being in Spain. While learning swimming as a kid, now I am 44, rolling from side to side on 3-stroke crawl is a bit difficult. 2 stroke, either left or right side is much easier. Yes, body rotation unloads pressure from arms effectively.

    One of the big differences is learning how to play the waves and currents. Generally, yes you need to go under the top of the wave so it doesnt push you backwards. But some of the top swimmers power over the top of the crest of the wave and then can accelerate on the down slope back of the wave and at the same time cresting the wave gives you a momenrtary good vision of where the buoys or your direction markers are. If you spend too long going under the waves you can end up well off course, so you need to develop both skills, going under and cresting.

    I partially agree. I'm also open water swimmer, BUT i swim also when the sea is VERY agitated, situation when the only stroke available is STRIGHT HAND high up , as some swimmers do for high peace/speed. That way the big waves didn't block your hands in classical high elbow stroke.

    • @adamwalker32
      @adamwalker32 Před měsícem

      If you swim flat then the shoulder is lower and I agree you have to lift. I’m on my side when I do my recovery arm so shoulder is much higher and therefore I don’t have to do a straight hand up high the recovery arm can be more of a sweeping motion. Try it 👍

I always swim with body horizontally, never sinking my hips (not even in breaststroke- there i developed few own variations which works very well, good speed and help training my core muscles)
