- In this episode I’m back in South Carolina hunting rabbits behind my buddy Trey Courtney’s dogs. I also end up cooking the rabbits up back on the tugboat. #doghunt
Special thanks to Trey and Troy for letting me tag along on a rabbit hunt!
When I was 2 years old my Grandfather gave me a Beagle for my birthday and he was named Boomer Boy. He was the best rabbit hunter and listened to both me and my Grandfather and no one else. He died from injuries protecting me from a german shepard and I miss him still to this day 50 years later. I have always loved this breed as I was around them from the first day I was born.
Sounds like an amazing dog
I salute to your dog he was a good hunter and a good boy 😢
I haven't been rabbit hunting since my friend passed away. Loved hearing the dogs barking in the woods. Great video. Thanks for the memories, even though I wasn't there it was great.
Thanks for tuning in!
Love rabbit hunting!
Those dogs get so excited! Swamp rabbits and cottontails ! Nice!
I love it now too!
Oh how I love to hear hunting dogs on the scent. It's been way too many years since I heard that beautiful chorus. I used to love to hear them on a deer or rabbit. We had both beagles and walkers and you talk about about fun. We had two cross breeds (walker/beagle mix) Sheena and I can't for the life of me remember the other one's name. Those crazy dogs would run and run and people would call us three and four counties over when they would quit running. It was crazy but so much fun. Thank you for the memories my dear. Everytime I watch your videos you bring up such beautiful memories of my younger days. Honey I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas and a beautiful New Year.
Merry Christmas!
I was into hunting rabbits, as well as field trials with my cousin, who got me into dog hunting with beagles. He was like a second Daddy to me . He passed and I just lost interest. Thanks for the video. Brought back some great memories.
Great memories!
When my sister and I was young my dadst hunting buddy gave him two beagle puppies to train to hunt within two months queen and princess had been turned into our pets. Needless to say they never went hunting. My dad and sister are both gone to heaven but I want to thank you for reminding me of this memory with your video. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Merry Christmas!
Thank you for lovely Sunday after noon. For us old boys up here in Manyland, we call that a 2 for 1 day, because we go for pheasant with the dogs and they stir up the rabbits too ! So we get both for hunting that day. So what you made today is called rabbit fricassee and I love it all the way.
That sounds like my kind of Sunday
The 13” Beagle 😊 how exciting. My dad raised them when I was a kid.
Cool!
I can tell that's a genuine laugh from Ian.
🤣
I’ll add that to my crockpot dinner list! When we hunted around home (S.E. Pennsylvania) our mom made a lot of good Pa Dutch
recipes and one of my favorites was the baked pot pies. She made them with either rabbit, squirrel or pheasant, whatever we brought home from the field. It was par-cooked on stovetop, cubed/shredded and put in pie dish with shredded potatoes, carrots and onions, salt/pepper and poured over a milk/flour mixture to make the “gravy”. Then covered it with pie crust. Baked maybe 30-40 min, not sure on the time? Was always a good Sunday dinner during hunting season!
Yum!
Those swamp rabbits are beasts! Hunting with dogs is such a great time. They're pretty amazing. Our family enjoyed this video!
Thanks!!
Oh damn, you did say Cuba.. love those peeps!!! Caught bones one tarpon one permit and had cast on two snook on flies that I tied. That place is the Bomb!!!
That hound sound is music used to love deer hunting with beagle walker mixed
Yes sir
Nothing funner than hunting with beagles. Great hunt and praise God for the game.
It was a blast
That was a great job tug. I absolutely love your videos.
Thanks
G'day mate, Love hunting with dogs it's so much fun. We usually spotlight for rabbits over here and get heaps. Definitely gotta try that recipe looks great. God bless you guys.🦘👍
Merry Christmas down there!
@@TugTrashOutdoors Merry Christmas mate.
Bring that bunny home Ian! Years ago I had an Aunt who raised them commercially for food,
my hubby
for the summer each year, I love the meat, but like anything the wild always is better, easy to get spoiled on that like fishing. Nature's grocery store is my favorite!
Oh wow!
Love those beagles. Grew up hunting st johns river swamp with beagles and walkers. Makes the hair stand up on my neck when i hear them jump.😊
Doesn’t get old
Great work Tugg! Love seeing ya cook on the boat.
Glad you enjoyed it
It is cool that your friends on the tug are joining in on your videos.
They love it
You brought back some fond memories with this one! Thanks! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Merry Christmas!
Ian thank you for taking me alone. It was another great video. God Bless
Thanks for coming
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Stan
Them wabbits are waskily . You missed a chance to wear an Elmer Fudd hat and say " SHHH ! Be verwy Qwiet . We're hunting wabbits ."
Man it was very tempting
Hasenpfeffer!!!! Well pretty close lol, Looks killer Tug! Yumm
Yeah that!
The gravy turned out nice and thick...shoulda checked before continuing to film 😂, but the end result was great. Garlic Rabbit is a good name for this dish studying the ingredients. Keep em coming Ian. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching
Any kind of hunting with dogs is a blast. 💥 Dogs 🐕 always amaze me with their sense of smell!! Awesome channel here Tug
They are the real stars
@@TugTrashOutdoors unless you have the stomach for it don’t do a wild hog hunt with (catch dogs). 🐕 it can be
very gruesome!!
I'm betting the crew on the tug love it when you cook. Enjoying the videos, keep it going and growing!
They are lucky to have me 🤣
Great video Ian. Beagels sure bark funny.
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice job. Food looked awesome too 👍
Thank you
Woods Rabbits are the best eating ( excluding domestic raised ). Loads of fun hunting with dogs. Beagles are pretty fast running dogs ( fast action ). Using Basset Hounds are slower running and gives the rabbit more time to stop and rest, they're for easer to be seen and shoot . Making for a more relaxed hunt and usually more shots and more meat in the pot ! Great video.
Interesting
Awesome buddy🤠🐶🐇
Thanks 👍
Hunted for rabbits like that all my life it’s the greatest
Was a blast
This video made me Smile the whole time I was watching it. I had a pair of Beagles years ago. To watch them work those bunnies was amazing. Honestly the best rabbit dog I have ever had was a Saint Bernard. She was slow enough to get the rabbits out in front of her. She caught a couple on the ice. She loved the heads. Crazy.
That is awesome!
Great job looks great
Thank you!
Omg I was thinking you would be making rabbit stew I still have a hard time watching you cook lol enjoy your dinner
🙌🏽
i love the tug cooking
🙌🏽
Great video, you need to get a couple Norwegian Elkhounds. You'd be pleasantly surprised by their hunting skills!
I bet!
Great video
Letting hunting do what they were breed for > 😤💯🔥🔥
Looks fantastic
It was!
Great video Tug! You are certainly putting out some variety of content. Love the rabbit hunt, sometimes it’s just hunting, just like fishing… not catching. Too bad you weren’t able to get one yourself. That plate of food you made looked so delicious. And carrots roasted have so much better flavour. Next time, try slicing down the middle as it creates more surface to flavour. And it’s faster.
Thanks for sharing!!!
Man I’m just filming my life. Will be back to fishing soon as hunting season comes to an end. Thanks for the tip on the carrots
Awesome video
Thanks!
Music to my ears I've done this a lot here in NC foothills
Awesome
Aloha Ian. Beagles used to be one of those dogs you saw everywhere, like basset hounds and Dalmatians. Just don’t see em much anymore. We raised and ate our own rabbits in Ohio when I was a kid. Had to tell my brother it was special chicken.
It’s so good!
Awesome
🤙🏽
Loved the Beagles. They are so enthusiastic. My great uncle, Ben Willard, was Miami’s only Criminal Court judge for 30 years or so. He lived right next to the Orange Bowl and had kennels full of fox hounds. They are noisy as hell. When people moved near they would 4:03 4:05 😮 call the police to complain about the constant barking, but he was the judge so nothing happened. The hunt was weird. They would take the dogs out to the woods down around Homestead build a bonfire and sit around listening to the dogs. Later they would gather them up. If the ever caught a fox I never saw one. Your recipe looked great and would work for almost any meat.
That’s is super cool. Your uncle was part of the last of a dying breed here in Florida
@@TugTrashOutdoors , He was on the 1906 or 07 Stetson football team and a WW 1 veteran. Really great man. I throughly enjoy your fishing, hunting, crabbing, cooking adventures. Thanks for your efforts in sharing.
Super cool catch clean and then cook 1000+ miles away guessing.
Probably 1300 or more!
Gotta love them Beagles......hahahaha....noisy as heck...good trackers though, better luck next time on them rabbits...funny video...👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks
Love the video I love running my beagles and your Wash your sister sauce 😂
The best!
You need 3 or so beagles of your own out back. I bet crystal would be happy to take care or them when you’re on the tug.
Can't hunt them with dogs where I live, but looks like like a blast
Thanks!
We would try to always mix in a squrrel with it
That would have been a great Wednesday cooking video .......... Looks tasty ...... PEACE !!!!!!!!!!!!
🙌🏽
Smothered over rice with one of my favorites I have eaten it my whole life and I do squirrel the same way
Yes sir
🤙
🙌🏽
Great fun to see those dogs come out of their cage hehe, a good outdoor experience. After my retirement, I lived in Colombia for a few years and had the opportunity to eat rabbit. Is very good. Greetings from Argentina
Rabbit is some of the best wild game!
I'm starting to dig and appreciate your videos @ Tug Trash Outdoors. Your videos when operating the tugboat and en route to Guantanamo caught my eye as I was watching other cool video channels that I watch regularly. I like that your videos have multiple people in them, so much variety and some tasty stick to the ribs vittles too. >@^_*@
Thanks 👍
Oh Darn that Whacky Wabbit!
I never done that before I will love to try this
Fun!
You have the best catch-n-cooks on CZcams. Maybe you are tied with Sam and Joyce The Old Couple 🤣😂. That is a good thing because Joyce can throw down in the kitchen.
No but I want to make a video with them!
buhahahhahaha, sounded like” Wash your sister”!😂😂😂😂
Yep lol
Man that looked good 👍
Thanks 👍
Nothin better than sweet beagle music
Nothing
I guarantee you are the first to cook SC rabbits in Cuba on a Tugboat. Did you check with immigration before bringing in swap rabbits LMFAO. I grew up in SW Ga on a farm every year we planted rye grass for the cows after the crops were harvested. We hunted them with with a spot light and a Rem. nylon66 out of the back of a pickup truck and even from the hood of the car if last minute. Was may favorite hunting and every once in a while we would catch a possum or 2. If you use a pressure cooker the rabbits will be done about the same time as the rice. We also cook tree rat/squirrel the same way. Looked like fun for all but the rabbits LOL.
Sounds like a blast!
@@TugTrashOutdoors can't spotlight any more so a thing of the past
What did u think of that I love it
Hey Ian, wishing you & Crystal a Merry Christmas! Was just rewatching your video where you made the key lime pie. Can you share your friends website where he grows the Florida key limes? Going to ask if he ships to Houston area. Going to try your recipe but I’ll make my own crust.
Yeah he is only friends and family right now
Not really a video question, but do you get much for rough water running back and forth to Cuba? Or do you not run if it's too rough for fear of loosing cargo?
Oh yeah we get beat up but do our best to minimize it
Gud job man
🙌🏽
Cool channel dude. New sub.
Thanks for the sub!
Looks absolutely delicious
Thank you
@@TugTrashOutdoors your welcome
Would love to come and spend some quality time with y’all. I am a professional carpenter and love to fish and ain’t scared of work! If you’re in need of some maintenance work either at hunting camp or at home I’m willing and able! Love you guys and you can never have too much fun! Seriously let me know. And we will work something out, Thanks.
I’ll keep that in mind!
Tug, you think I could do that same recipe with some wild turkey I got on a steelhead fishing in ID???
Would work with turkey for sure
Aloha. Who does the grocery order on that boat? Is it a restaurant supply, or does someone physically go shopping?
We shop for it! I am working on a tugboat video now
Them dogs hit the ground and you got revved up!
My hair stood up
How many you guys on the boat at a time? Just curious
5
Good video, but you're missin 3 things

Hi there see you in few different videos with babe my question is how can I get work as cook on boat
I’m gonna do a whole video on how to get a video on a tugboat in about a week
Gotta love that rabbit meat.
Them some noisey dogs lol
Oh yeah
I’m going out my 1st time Saturday with a co-worker. Can anybody give me some quick 1st time tips?
Don’t shoot the dogs!
I need a job with you.
Rabbit hunted since I was 5 years old. If you so much as farted after that dog trailed out, Daddy slap you upside the head. That rabbit will circle back unless chased by something else. I've had rabbits run over my foot because daddy taught us to NEVER move after first bay! Scratch your nose or butt later!!!
I like your Dad! 🙌🏽
We hunted with TC Contender .410 pistols and Savage 24C/D .22/.410 over and unders. Alot of times we get that rabbit: lopping" back with the .22!@@TugTrashOutdoors
buggs got away eating carrots with rabbit vwery interesting
🤣
