  • In this video, I will show you what it takes to remove a ceramic or graphene coating from your car, truck or motorcycle. We have to remove them here at our shop for various reasons. Either we are doing a repair on scratches, removing the coating in favor of paint protection film. There could be numerous reasons. This is how it is done.

I applied the Apex metal oxide coating in artificial light. Looked great but once in cloudy outdoor light there was major streaking on the hood. I used TW Hybrid solutions one and done compound with two separate uro 50-50 pads and a DA polisher which took all the streaking away. Re-applied the coating in outdoor cloudy light and it looks great. Thanks Brian for an excellent vid.

Excellent as always, have you used a more horse soap like Carpro Descale for bonded minerals ? I’m going to experiment with it on coated cars, washed in hard water. I’d like to get to them when the mineral contamination is slight, but noticeably dulling the finish and affecting water behavior as well. It has promise of a prep soap to take off or help remove older sealants and waxes but that is another issue.

Honestly, why would you allow somebody to wet sand your
clear coat to remove a ceramic
    coating?
Leave your paint alone and stop
    applying coats of different crap-
    products that protects against
    nothing .
Detailers cannot figure out that slapping on layers of waxes , poly
    - waxes, and ceramic and graphene
    coatings cause swirl marks and
marring when you have to wash
    the vehicle.
    Correction wears your clear coat
