As a 33 years old Guy, who grew up listening to Bob Marley, it's astonishing to know some people never heard of him. Long live the King!!!!
I love this song but 3 little birds is my favorite. It’s one of those song that no matter what messed up thing happened to me or I saw or heard, when it came on the radio or my playlist it made me smile and sing along . I’m 40 btw so we both had parents that played him I’m guessing.
@@TreyM1609 I know what you are talking about. I get this same vibe with Is this love! The type of song that you will never skip on your playlist.
Elvis Presley said:I'm not the king, Jesus Christ is the king,I'm just an entertainer!Peace, love!
I once heard an old black radio dj say that in the seventies they were paid to keep Bob Marley off black radio.
I wonder if the same was true for gangster rap ten years later.
Marley was a pure and kind soul, one love. Three Little Birds, Buffalo Soldier and Redemption Song are just a few classics that come to mind :)
Buffalo soldier is one of my favorite songs by him
Three Little Birds! ❤️
Rat race
Babylon system is his best song Bob Marley was a Pan Africanist a true black liberation fighter
Pure? How many children did he have? And with how many women? 😂
Gone way too early….if we had more people like him, the world would be a better place….Peace and Love, Bob ❤️
Asia's smile through this song was perfect. That's what a lot of Bob's music is supposed to do.
Yes, her smile was lovely. Just the right response to this, to Bob ✊🏾❤🤗
@@noelleparris9451 facts!!!
There's many other artists that are good
Love Bob Marley. The best reggae artist ever. His son Ziggy is carrying on his music.
Rip Bob🎶🌴🎶
His son Damian Jr. Gong Marley is the one carrying the torch now
@@CardinalBlack36 I was going to say the same thing but you beat me to it Damian Marley is the best out of the Marley Brothers Ziggy Marley he's just average
There's 100s of other reggae artists that are good like Marley his entire family literally sings check out don carlos
@@omarjohnson8845 jo mersa Marley is to that his grandson
MORE BOB MARLEY !!! You will not be disappointed.
Bob Marley is one of the only voices to put my kid in a genuinely happy place when she's had enough of the world. One Love. Stir It Up. No Woman, No Cry. Those are the ones I put on my list most of the time.
I'm so glad that you're reacting to some reggae. It's a genre of music that gets overlooked in reaction videos. I mainly listen to rock music but I've enjoyed reggae since I was a teenager. The West Indian community in London (where I grew up) brought reggae to the UK and it's influenced a lot of British music, including punk rock.
I knew I would see someone from the UK chiming in, and so glad to see it too.
Growing up during the 2nd Generation of punk (the Hardcore years, ala Bad Brains), most of our older friends were turning us all onto the Clash and a lot of other post-punk UK acts that were heavily influenced by the Ska/Rock Steady/Reggae sound.. which inevitably caused us all to dive in and research Jamaican music very extensively.. though many of us were already hooked on the UK 80’s Ska (Dance Craze) sound with The Specials, Madness, and The Selecter.. and everyone I knew loved our great US Ska band: Fishbone (“Party At Ground Zero”)
I truly hope Asia and BJ explore some more older Jamaican sounds.. there’s plenty of great Bob tunes that fully deserve reacts, as well as tons of older stuff like the big International hit by Johnny Nash “I Can See Clearly Now”, Peter Tosh “Stepping Razor” or other classics like Junior Murvin “Police And Theives”, Toots & The Maytals “Pressure Drop”, The Ethiopians “Free Man”, or Niney The Observer “Blood And Fire”.
@@CANDOKNOWHOW Well said, mate 😊
been listening for over 40 years, he is my first teacher, he teaches just because you are suffering does not mean you have to be angry. "When the music hits you feel no pain" - Bob Marley.
Buffalo Soldier- always a good time for a history lesson
Facts
All his songs are.
Bob's music runs the whole alphabet. Happy, sad, deadly serious etc. To get a feel of Bob Marley in America, check out his live concert on Harvard campus 1979. Mind blowing
Genius. An all world talent. Gone too soon. His soul was too beautiful for this world.
No Woman No Cry and Redemption Song are very good
Grew up listening to Bob Marley and im 44 now. I love Bob with all my heart 💕
His music was so beautiful and pure.. what a legend. JAH RASTA FARI.
Gimme a break!
IRIE!!!
If you like the slow loving songs, you have to do No Woman, No Cry…..ASAP
Bob is a legend try no woman no cry
YES, this is LOVE! We need a lot more of this powerful influence in our lives... Bob, the King of Reggae! Thanks, Y'all! 😎😎😎
In my all-time top-40. How high it lies within, changes from day to day, but, along with Wait In Vain and Three Little Birds, it's always somewhere on the list.
Brilliance. Pure and simple.
the ultimate chillmaster RIP BoB...
Bob was everything in my household as a kid. He was the best, a kind soul & someone we need in today's society. He left us all too soon
Bob never sang a song, he preached it, he was such a huge influence. One great soccer player. This is my favorite of his many, I loved ‘Babylon by Bus’, this was on it, I think the beauty comes from his simplicity of a song well written. God bless.
Bob Marley is legendary... beautiful songs.. waiting in vain is an awesome song
This is one of my favorite Marley songs.
You guys gotta react to “Waiting In Vain” and “So Much Trouble In The World” These are a couple of my top Bob Marley and The Wailers songs.
Growing up in the early nineties in Bradford England Robert nesta Marley was god in the summer every door open playing UB40 and bob marley he’s not only the greatest reggae artist ever he’s music royalty
No one, and I mean no one, makes me feel as good about being alive as Bob Marley. If his music is part of your daily life, your life will be better.
Bob Marley was a beautiful soul .. too bad the world wasn’t ready for peace .. and still not ready for peace .. one day I was stressing out about life .. I was on my way to do something real important and life changing.. and “ Three Little Birds “ started playing on a mix I made .. “ Don’t worry about a thing cause every little things is gonna be alright “ made me tear up .. knowing that I can get through this .. the love Bob Marley have to the world is priceless … RIP Legend 🐐 ❤️
Asia's smile alone tell yuh everything yuh need to know...that's why Bob is the greatest! I'm proud to be Jamaican..we are little but wi influence the world!
A great documentary called “when Bob Marley came to britain” is definitely worth a watch, feel like a lot of people outside of britain and Jamaica wouldn’t know much about his relationship with britain and how big reggae and ska was here 👍
Mate try nz biggest reggae country outside of jamaica👌🏽💪🏽 (per capita)
@@lacedgoods9155 isn’t really relevant to my point lol who’s the big New Zealand reggae and ska artists and bands? You can’t have had the same Jamaican influence on your country like England had
@@RedDevil_Joe Marley came to NZ in 1979 at his peak, and he was an absolutely massive, massive influence on all NZ music that followed... not to mention throughout all the South Pacific. His NZ concert features in the guided tour of his house in Kingston (I know this cos I visited his house, now a shrine to the Marley Empire). So, for sure he was as much of an influence if not more than the UK (not to diminish that of course). The Herbs, Katchafire, Trinity Roots, Cornerstone Roots, House of Shem, Kora, L.A.B - they pioneered the distinctive Pacific Reggae style... which then inspired the Reggae-Dub style sounds that followed, such as Salmanella Dub, Kora, Fat Freddy's Drop, Black Seeds ... the list goes on. Mate, you have no idea how popular Reggae is out here in the South Pacific - Hawaii, Fiji, Melanesia, Polynesia - all heavily inspired by the Jamaican sound. So to your assertion that NZ couldn't have had the same influence on its music than Reggae had on the UK scene - mate, I beg to differ. Anyway its all good, but if you like reggae then please check out some of the bands I listed above, you won't be disappointed!
@@Coconautify but tbf he built himself up as an international star from being in England when he first came in 1972 I think it was. Because the wind rush generation who were the Jamaicans who started moving to London after world war 2, he lived around plenty of Jamaican people and made several albums living in London. I will check out those bands cause I love reggae, check out the documentary I mentioned too though 👍
Where can you watch it?
Almost impossible to think anybody wouldnt have heard this song before.
Watch a lot of reactions to music I grew up with. You two are the best couple doing it. Spot on with the comments on the music you post. I can tell when you're really digging it. Marley was an original and nobody can touch his reggae.
Plenty of great Bob Marley songs but my favourites are "So Much Trouble in the World", "Could you be Loved", and "Who the Cap Fit". Bob's music is always uplifting, even his rebel songs will lift you up. His message was brilliant and he was a true philosopher. My favourite Bob Marley quote is "In the abundance of water, the fool is thirsty"
One of my all time favorites!
The atmosphere was so, so, nicely smokeey.😊..
At his concerts ...
No woman No Cry - my favorite song
Should definitely react to The Speicals - ‘Ghost Town’ and ‘A Message To Rudy’
I’d add “Doesn’t Make It Alright” and “Nite Club” to that mix!
Once in a lifetime talent. Three little birds is my alarm on my phone in the morning. The redemption song, it'll move you. No woman no cry is so pure...etc...
No woman no cry!!!!!!!!!!!
I listened to a ton of Bob Marley in high school because you know.
Small Axe is probably one of my favorite Bob Marley songs.
Some of the best lyrics I’ve heard in music, simple but deep at the same time
Having grown up in Florida and traveled to Jamaica, I can never get enough Reggae and, yes it is a VIBE! It is a life vibe, a good vibe, a chill vibe. It is love.
Very beautiful song. Always makes me happy.
Bob is a philosopher, philanthropist and prophet also. He’s the GOAT! Try War, Redemption Song, Could you be Loved and Three Little Birds
I alway get a happy vibe hearing Bob Marley. Allen Stone did a cover of this at Bonaroo. 🔥
What a pure and joyful reaction! We see the love you both have. Big smiles and in the groove... Way cool!!!
The great bob Marley
Love me some Bob Marley and Reggae! Love to hear Buffalo Soldier, No Woman No Cry, One Love, Jamming. Another group to listen to that is Reggae based in Great Britain is UB40. They will take R&B songs and make them Reggae like Red Red Wine, The Way You Do The Things You Do, Hear I Am (Come And Take Me- by Al Green).
Definitely react to Three Little Birds by Marley. You won't regret it. Beautiful song.
First video I've seen where Asia smiles from start to finish of the song.
Oooooooh....it's nice to see a Bob Marley reaction from you both! Awesome~
Gone but never forgotten R.I.P bob
He was in my home town in the video. He was truly a modern day prophet 💕💕
Dope reaction great song kerp them coming r.i.p bob marley🙏
😲 I was LEGIT surprised you never heard one of his biggest hits. Honestly I was starring at your mouth Asia to see if you were singing along and it didn't happen. This video warms my heart. Those precious children are in their mid - late 50's now. I proudly come from a mixed family. Bob was a Shaman on Earth and now an Angel in the afterlife. 💙 Love you both!
Gone too soon, RIP Bob.
Comin in from the cold is my fave, brings back many memories 😍💜
A radio station that I used to listen to had what they called a "Bob Break". Always made me feel good after listening to the song. A sort of reboot.
My mom has his greatest hits album and always plays that song. I knew the words by 7 I feel like. Loveeee this song. And him
The Reggae King RIP!
He had 13 kids I believe 11 of them are in the music scene! This brings me back to childhood on the beach all day everyday♥️♥️♥️ oh and also one of his grandsons is doing music now too! It’s beautiful to see their legacy♥️
BOB is reggae ....and this music isnt the same vibe without him....he is the genre Three lil birdies yall If anyone can still bring me peace in today's world it Bob
I have been to his tomb in Nine Mile, Jamaica back in 2010 our tour guide was a guy named Captain Crazy he is on here on YT,
Reggae Legend
Asia has about the prettiest smile I've ever seen on a reaction video. Gets a sub. Well that and this white boy wishes I could have met/heard Marley before he passed. Sad and too soon
Bob Marley was an icon. Crazy Bald Heads, One Drop, Lion from Zion. Revolutionaries of Love
HI HEAR IS ANOTHER GREAT HIT OF BOB NATURAL MYSTIC ITS A MUST
Miss you Bob.
I love bob marleys music 🎶🥰🏝
Who the Cap Fit, One Drop, Natural Mystic, some great Marley tunes
Damn, I love Bob Marley's music.
Bob Forever.
You're reacting to one of the world greatest legends,a global superstar..
He was a father to 11, my late bro-cousin Frank spent 6 days with him & mentioned " Talk to your elders, before you know where u R going u got to know where you come from " Bob paraphrased it into Buffalo Soldier " Jamaican Rasta's come fr. Beth Sheba Queen of Ethiopia & King Solomon, decendents known as Tribe fr. The Lion ofJudah
Never thought you'd react to bob... See in kenya reggae music runs the country this was my upbringing great vid
In 1977, Marley was diagnosed with acral lentiginous melanoma; he died as a result of the illness in 1981. His fans around the world expressed their grief, and he received a state funeral in Jamaica. The greatest hits album Legend was released in 1984, and became the best-selling reggae album of all time.[12] Marley also ranks as one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with estimated sales of more than 75 million records worldwide.[13] He was posthumously honored by Jamaica soon after his death with a designated Order of Merit by his nation. In 1994, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Rolling Stone ranked him No. 11 on its list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.[14]
I think it was 1977 that I went to Jamaica just for some sun & snorklingReggae Sunsplash. What a great time, everyone of all countries, cultures & races-ALL having a good time. Cold Red Stripe, hot jerk chicken & amazing tunes!
To me this is popular culture , if you grow up listening this music you grow up in spirit manner
This song gives me the chills...every single time, since I first heard it as the 1st track on Legend when a teen in the early 90s. Fun video fact: Supermodel Naomi Campbell is one of the kids Bob is tucking in with the blanket. "Could You Be Loved" should be your next Bob track, but you can't go with any and not go wrong!
I have Bob's Babylon by Bus album. Love the songs and music. I've listened to this with my wife and we sing along over the years .Such a great artist and wonderful man.
@asiaandbj thank you for your kind words and for loving Reggae. As a Jamaican I had to clarify for Asia! What you hear a lot of is called Dancehall, it’s a totally different genre from Reggae. So Jamaicans produce two, well three now different genres of music. Dancehall is a place where people go to dance because the music is upbeat, so the genre is called Dancehall. Reggae is conscious music, positive lyrics that brings a calm! Now there is Trap and new genre that is evolving, the tone is a mix of reggae and dancehall or rather neither of the original two. I hope this clarifies.
Hows this the 1st time you have ever heard this?
From memory this is the roots of modern music like RAP. Bob and Peter Tosh were legendary :)
Forever lovin Jah -bob marley
What a vibe. So special.
The Concert at the Rockpalast(Television free in whole Europe) Live in 1980 in Dortmund in Germany is a Masterpiece.
One of my all time favourites! ❤️
Jah Rasta Uncle Bob ….. ❤️
I love this song
This makes me feel old in that literally I can't think of a song in the history of music which has had as much airplay as this song for like 30+ years. It is crazy to think there are people over 20 who haven't heard it......I'm getting old I guess.
An original member of The Wailers, along with Peter Tosh, Bob was an innovator and ambassador of the Reggae sound and culture. People in the US just think of him as the ganja guy but he was a political activist. In 1978, Bob Marley fought a campaign for peace after years of political violence in his homeland. He was shot during an assassination attempt. He convinced the Prime Minister and his opponent to stand on stage together shaking hands. Our craven and narcissistic artists of today could learn a thing or two from Bob.
Icon in N.Z. was Bob ..
Buffalo Soldier was a N.Z. Anthem..
Reggae is the "vibeyest" music, and Bob is the king. I've been a huge fan of Reggae since the 70's, so if you choose to go down this rabbit-hole, I've got a lot of classic and forgotten gems suggestions for you. And I know I'm not the only one.✌️🤙
Beautiful. Sounds like the streets of London in the 70s and 80s.
No Woman No Cry next pretty please (slow reggae... also Trun Your Lights Down Low is slower one)
Whenever I hear Bob Marley I think of Tupac .. and whenever I hear Tupac I think of Bob Marley.. they were both so real .. so Honest .. so loving .. so inspirational.. they brought people up whenever you were feeling down and out .. 🐐 🐐 ❤️
More bob marley please!
My sis' fav genre, she was enamored with the Caribbean lifestyle.
Unfortunately, she passed almost 3y this November, and she asked me to play 3 songs one last time: Buffalo Soldier; Three Birds and this one.
She adored reggae, she was at peace.
Bob's music has so many messages, my personal fav, Exodus!!
Ty, bittersweet. 🥺❤👍🏽
Pure love and wisdom. Miss one of the greatest.
Duppy Conqueror - Bob Marley
Stir it up... Means to me let's get on the dance floor. Actually I've never heard a bad Marley song I didn't love. Such a passionate man. When he sings he shares his heart
