    When I first invested in NIO during covid shut down. I imagined one day, NIO vehicles will be able to drive itself to.the nearest pss at any giving time and swap out a fully charged battery. This is the main reason I invested in NIO. The second reason is for NIO to increase their sales.

    NIO also needs to put digital screens on the side or front of the swap station and run ads 24/7...That could generate a huge amount of revenue...

    Apparently, Robo Taxi is a no go at this time.
    Not sure if that's true but I am super happy that they are not focusing on Robo Taxi at this time.
    Robo Taxi is no smooth sailing and NIO is not in a position to take up on yet another 'potential' income stream.
    There are other areas that the business needs to focus on and get better at.
    NIO needs to have a narrow focus area and the biggest thing they should focus on is profitability through car sales.

    When commercializing robot taxis, comparing the charging system with the battery replacement system seems to provide the answer. If battery replacement is fully automated, the robot taxi can autonomously go to a battery replacement station, swap batteries within 3 minutes, and resume operations, yielding substantial profits. However, for the charging system, additional components such as robotic arms or wireless charging facilities need to be installed, incurring significant costs. Moreover, charging time would take at least 20 minutes for a full recharge. Which system would you entrust your robot taxi to?

    I hope this works but I’m still not sure how this is a benefit over DCFC, especially if there is an attendant. But yes in areas where destination chargers are rare a car driving itself to a charger or swap station for service is very convenient feature

    All retail investors losing a unbelievable lot of money, is not easy still believe in Nio. Hopefully we see once 10-15 again but when ONVO is not a success such as ET5 and 7 we can forget it

    One concern about existing NIO owners is that the new Sub-brand coming will create long lines for swapping. If you can send your car to swap on its own while you sleep could cut those lines down during the day. Although, if NIO takes advantage of low cost charging of batteries during non-peak times at night will there be time to charge batteries at night.🤔

    Are there not just twenty one or so battery stored in a swap station?
    Assume 3 minutes per swap, swap out battery needs to be charged fully within an hour.
    Is that how it will work in order to get a continuous battery swap?

    I just picked up a few more shares this morning and brought my average to $8.50. I have high hopes for Nio. Be greedy when all others are scared and be scared when others are being greedy.... or something like that.

    IF BATTERY PPRICES KEEP PLUNGING SWAP IS V BIG, NO? I saw that China battery prices will HALVE. If this is correct and if batteries keep dropping in price, then presumably swap could have big advantage. If, say, batteries are only a quarter price in 3/4 years, then a Nio with swap wont drop much in 2/hand price whereas other cars will drop drastically. If this is all true, could you please make some projections, Marcel? Are battery price drops a major cause of the continuous price cuts to evs?

    Please shed some light NIO investors with thoughtful discussion on NIO BAAS revenue - NIO sells battery to 19.84% owner Mirattery (Wuhan Weineng Battery Asset) company who operates BAAS and earn rev via subscription fees. So, how NIO will earn money with wide adoption of BAAS among new partners & FSD increasing users cases.

    The question is after they go out to grab coffee, where would the automation put the car back and would they have enough parking spaces since there will be a line of cars to be swapped next

    Although they make a profit on their cars NIO loses around $1Billion USD per quarter because of their battery swap stations.
    It sounds like a good idea until you turn up to a swap station and there are 12 people ahead of you, including pre-staging and exiting the facility that's 1 hour before your turn, it's like every petrol station having 1 bowser and everyone needs to line up single file for their turn, meanwhile 50-60 cars have come and gone at the same time at a 20 stall supercharger station which costs the same as 1 swap station.
    The battery rentals are the same as a new battery every 7 years. When you do go to trade / sell your 7 year old car the new buyer has a monthly rental of $200 on top of any payments, you can lease a whole new EV for $199 a month, $299 for a whole new Tesla or Polestar - instead you are leasing just a battery for $200..... forever.
    Sure there is less risk from a defective battery after 8 years but an LFP battery should last 1million miles and 20 years of service on average.
    As battery charging gets faster and faster and batteries now outlast the car this makes less and less sense.

      You do know at 3 minutes per swap and 12 people ahead of you is only about 36 minutes... thats still faster than most superchargers can do. And that's if there's only 1 line... im sure China of all places with their population knows how to get things done in a timely manner. Plus Leasing has always been a bad deal but guess what? People still do it on a regular basis. Not everyone has the money to own so they rent... Nio will be profitable in the next 2-3 years and the ones that missed out will all be kicking themselves

    NIO car doing a battery swap during night own its own seems a bit weird, I mean why not just plugin and charge at home if the car owner is at home.

      Home charging is always the best option, however not available to everyone, especially in China. The point rather is that the car can accomplish a task without the need for user attendance. So the use cases are manifold.

      @@DONGXiiTheChinaOpportunity Yeah it does makes sense that if the NIO owner don't have a charger at home, but I don't think this is something we will see anytime soon because of regulations etc to allow cars with no drivers.
      I think similar to the topic there is a point that is less talked about is that any EV car maker that are doing in-house NOP/FSD are also an AI company, and AI is all the hyper right now and I believe this to be the reason that NIO were able to integrate Nomi with GPT AI so quickly as they have AI talent, and it could be that Elon had realised this ages ago and probably one of the reasons he started OpenAI

    I thought NIO was going to persue Automated taxies, but recently the CEO said they will not. AI is going to change civilization in the next 4 years. this means people may not own car but just use them as a service. NIO is perfect for taxi service sinece they have automated swap. Do you have any idea why LEE would choose that path?

    This content does not make sense. All that is happening is that the car goes to the swap station at night instead of during the day. You didn't explain how this will translate to double the money. Because my car goes at night instead of during the day does not mean im swapping twice as much. It only means i swap at 3am and not at 3pm.

      I believe this may have something to do with the overhead cost of NIO charging & swapping at night versus during the day.
      The cost difference might be drastic enough that it would have a significant impact on probability.
