Looks fabulous. A suggestion from a Lebanese Australian - it needs more coriander and parsley in the falafel mix. If you also add a spoonful of bicarb soda, it makes the inside of the cooked falafel light and fluffy. Also a good idea to make double or triple the recipe and freeze the unused portion of raw falafel for use at a later time for another meal. The tahini sauce needs some garlic and a little plain yoghurt can be added to the tahini sauce to tone it down if needed. Love the pickle options in your recipe.
And that's how it's perfectly done👌
I miss the pickled turnip!
Thanks for the tips, Tahini sauce is my very favourite. I also love falafel.
Just perfect, thank you for sharing
Could do with a vid from you. Sounds like you know the real shizz.
Love you Jamie, and love all your recipes and they way you present them!!! Thank you so much!!!
amazing dish , everything came together so well. the freshness of the yogurt sauce with the pickled red cabbage chilli and cucumbers was insane. this one will go down in the books and be on the table more often 🤘 no matter what they say, you're amazing Jamie! your dishes always bring a smile to me while making and to the guests at the table while eating👍
Never knew that falafel is so easy to make at home - thanks for the reciepe! ❤
I’ve been following you, Jamie from the days you were a very young chef till now, and I never get tired. You’re fantastic and creative, and I’m a much better cook because of you. Thank you!
What he said
I made these falafels (added parsley and skipped the tahini) and also did all the other sides and yogurt sauce for a group of 6 for lunch on Saturday and it was a big success!
People complaining that real falafel ´should´ be made with soaked and cooked chickpeas instead of canned ones are skimping over the fact that Jamie makes recipes really approachable for a lot of people who otherwise would never eat this. Using canned chickpeas is a lottt quicker and thus way more workable for a lot of people with busy lives.
Isn´t it nice that by doing it this way, a lot of people have acces to a nice, tasty and healthy recipe that is very similar to the real deal? The magic of Jamie is that he opens up a world of food for a lot of food for people who otherwise would have no clue that those wonderfull dishes would have existed in the first place, and that is something to celebrate, not nitpick about details wether this or that should or should not be in it or is authentic
If he would've deep fried them which is the norm, they would've disintegrated. So you're right this is a more approachable, healthier way of cooking them. But that's why you can't use canned ones for traditional falafel.
@@sonnbonn I want to try to make Falafel next week. I didn't plan on deep frying them. Do I need to? I need to make them myself, because no restaurant in town offers some, that are done without the risk of crosscontamination with chilli (I am allergic to chilli).
I work from 9am to 5:30pm and still have time to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner most days. We do falafel at home and it is very easy to leave chickpeas soaking in water overnight...the rest is done in the food processor! if you want to eat well and cook properly your food, there is no such thing as "busy life", as there is always time for everything as long as you take some time to plan. Jamie creates recipes that cater more for the lazy way most British people approach cooking and eating... In British culture, cooking and eating is a quick thing, something you do to keep you going (specially at lunch times), not necessarily an experience as you find in other European countries where cooking is an art and sitting down to eat is part of family and social life. I understand and have admired Jamie's approach to food but he sometimes can butcher recipes for the sake of making them "approachable" for the British public, when sometimes you just need to do it properly or else go and find it in your local foreign restaurant... or travel abroad.
Thank you for saying this 🙏🙏
Oh my goodness I started drooling. I'm going to make some now. How delicious Jamie.😊
U Make recipes look very simple. Amazing!
Beautiful simplicity. Sublime. Great summer feast🦚🌈🦋

Oh my goodness...I'm so hungry now! I can't wait to try this. Thank you!
Wow looks great and thank you for the wonderful content. Any advice on preparing without frying in oil to minimize calories? Ie air fry or even baking?
You make everything you cook look like a piece of art ❣
your standards must be low

Need to try this - looks delish
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
Oh can't wait to try them. I can't and don't do deep fried, so this will way will be just fine for me. As always, thx for your enthusiasm and info. ✌️
I never dared to make falafel myself and here you are, with your usual straight forward and unbothered way, showing us how to do it. And voila, made my first batch today and LOVE it. Thank you Jamie! I've been following you since the first hour and I will never stop!
If Jamie’s restaurants made falafels and whatnot instead of pasta, he would have never gone bankrupt.
@@Natasha26Well let’s see what happens with his next restaurant initiative. Predicting no joy there either. 😢
@@garywallenphd885 Wasn’t his inexperienced brother-in-law the reason he went bankrupt?
Always beautiful tasty food you are so good never get tired of your amazing food 😋
I'll try this! I usually soak the raw chick peas - 24 hours - with bicarb soda - and also fava beans. Love coriander and parsley, hummus and all those things! When I lived in Sydney, I got the falafel recipe from the chef at Alibaba's - they were the BEST falafels!! Jamie certainly knows how to present and inspire! And makes it look so easy!
I agree with soaking the chickpeas overnight, huge difference in making the right authentic falafel
That sounds great! I've never made them before, but I bought some raw chickpeas today and will soak them later this week. 😋
This is going to be on my weekend menu ❤
Love it Jamie!!❤
Delectable and mostly things we have in the pantry. This will work well with all the different toppings to accompany the falafel.
Looks amazing! I am definitely making these along with the sides/toppings!
its disgusting
@@Dylan-qj8gj have you ever eaten falafel? I have eaten with harissa before. It had nice flavor( from Whole Foods)
Made these for Superbowl LVIII for my husband and I. Excellent flavour! healthy street food. Would make this recipe ahead of time for a superbowl party too. Used all 4 sauces. ❤
You need to save the water from can chickpeas because it is the best vegan egg replacer. You can even use it as a sub for whipped egg whites. Never throw out aquafaba!
I gasped when he chucked it down the sink, then proceeded to talk about not easting the coriander stalks! Chick pea water is great for making chicken tenders etc. A great replacement, and saves using an expensive egg
@@anncarter6438 He said a lot of people waste the coriander stalks but not him 😁
I would just use eggs as I'm not vegan. Just saying!
How can you store aquafaba for later?..Can you freeze it?
I’m sure he knows this as it’s common knowledge but he uses eggs so probably has no need at this particular time. I still find it bizarre that the cloudy water can whip like egg white though
Yes yes falafel of course thank you Oliver muchas gracias 🙏👍
It’s harissa paste - for all those who didn’t get it the first, second and third time (like me)
wow amazing recipe
Great recipe! Going plant based and this was a hit with my husband. I made my own pita bread the second time I made this.
Thanks Oliver !
Love it ! Thank U Jamie ;)
U always have great shows
Recuerdo cuando veia naked chef hace decadas, guapisimo el jamie! Ahora es todo un señor q cocina rico jee
Yummy love them all
Looks so beautiful. I want to cry!!!
Love falafel ❤
jamie you made me hungry again !
Falafels are fun to make and pair with too!!
Just what I needed, subscribed
I'm impressed with the speed at which all those nice dips salads etc appeared there Jamie. I strongly suspect that we culinary mortals would struggle to conjour so, but this falafel recipe does look delicious indeed, I shall be trying these with a few olives etc at the very least.. Nice one Jamie. ⭐👍
love this. Vegetarian, healthy, relatively low oil usage...well done
Jamie Oliver, you are a king!
Thank you Jamie
Can you imagine the flavours coming out of that one sandwich 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Not knowing how to make falafel, but experimenting, I couldn't ever get them to hold together through cooking unless I added a bit of flour. So I was very pleased to see him put some flour in straight away.
Loved this recipe ❤ and the presentation 🎉
Super delicious
Lovely recepe, will try this! I make falafel with uncooked chickpeas (just soak dry chickpeas over night and put them in blender), no need for flower 🙂
Nice recipe again! I also love the foodprocessor! I have the same one. These are amazing machines.
which food processor is it?
@@majkalipska8808 It's a Magimix Systeme Cuisine 5200XL. Maximix has amazing foodprocessors.
That came out very well for me. Thanks!
Please let me know what that paste is called I couldn’t understand him. Thanks
@@nachis3 It's harissa paste - can be found in Middle Eastern markets, online, or even at gourmet markets. If you click the "cc" on the lower right of the video, you can also see close captioning. I'm surprised he added so much as it can be quite spicy although brands vary.
Brilliant!
Pure joy❤
Have you tried Egyptian Falafel? We call it Ta'emeyya!
Made of crushed beans, soaked in water for a few hours or over night for better results, and then mixed with lots of greens (Coriander, Parsley, Dill, Leak) + Red onions + whole Garlic (peeled of course) + salt.
Before frying it in deep oil we season it with black pepper, ground coriander seeds, cumin and sesame seeds (optional) then we add:
1 egg. 🥚
When we shape it we add sesame seeds on top then fry it, et voilà!
You can use all the sandwich filling/sauces you have creaded and more .. try it also withfried eggplants 🍆!
Delicious! 👌😋
thanks for taking time to share this with us!
Thanks for the tips, 😍😍😍Egyptian falafel is fantastic & tasty ,specially from Cairo streets
I haven't seen a single south indian food in ur show some are very good and cools ur head haha❤❤🎉🎉
Best chef!
Love falafel
You guys should try making falafal from dried chick peas as is done traditionally, amazing texture
Jamie, does the mixture work if cooked in an airfryer?
Como eu amo jamie ensinando ❤
I would love to make this, but his recipes are never printable. For those that have made this, do you write it out first or just follow along on your phone?
Looks beautiful. Funny thing is yesterday, I bought two cans of chickpeas to make falafel. And you just posted this video.
I will try your recipes.
How did you get on? I see so many people saying you absolutely cannot used canned chickpeas, only dry will do. But I don't find it easy to get hold of anything other than cans. Did you get a good result?
@@_wormlet My results were Great!
Adorei a receita, muito ousado e delicioso, boa!!❤❤
I tried it yesterday! Though I hadn't coriander I tried with celery. Coriander has a weird taste to me... but I'll try it anyway. Thx!!
Big Thanks!
That is a picture 😜
I can’t believe how easy you made that all look!!! It’ll take me at least 40 mins, but hey! I think I might do this for our next dinner party ❤
Awesome master ❤
Superbe recette
Love that guy.
A great presentation, thank you for sharing. I prefer falafel made with "fava beans" instead of "chick peas", Egyptian style. Should you have tried it, I would be interested in your take on it. Again great presentation and thank you for sharing.
Absolutely love your splendid, simple and incredibly perfect peceipts.
Nice one mate, lunch sorted!
Is allspice in Britain different from allspice in the US? It looks like a paste that he uses. Any advice?
Wish I was there❤
Ilove you Jamie.

The Best Falafel I eate. Thank you Jamie
Come to Israel and taste the real deal, this is not even close to a real falafel.
I promise you, if you come to Shalom Falafel in Jerusalem I'll pay for the pita. See you soon😊
@@orischwartz8035 really? What’s so different? 😁
Love Jamie!! What is that all spice thing? Where can I find it or prepare it myself?
You can find it at basically any grocery store, or failing that, you can find it online. Allspice is, contrary to the name, a single-ingredient spice derived from a tree native to Central America.
Thanks
You are so awesome😊
Yum. Yum. Yum👏👏👏🤪
Superb ❤❤❤
