Coalition - This is getting out of hand, now there are two of him.
One Napoleon is trouble enough, two is unbeatable. Poor Coalition.
Those "Confederation of the Rhine" troops at the start are actually Austrian troops. The Rhinish troops wear helmets instead of shakos. Austrians have gold sashes for their officers. Also, Austrian Hungarian troops are shown with light blue pants.

the confederation troops shown at the beginning are actually Saxons, sporting the all white uniforms. If someone mistakes them for being Austrians, than they are making the same mistake that the French did at Wagram by butchering their own ally. Napoleon had tons of German troops fighting for him including Saxons, Bavarians, Wurttembergers, Westphalians, Hanovarians, Hessians, and also troops from Baden, Nassau, and many others.

@@TaskForce_Raccoon As it turns out, those troops are indeed Austrian. The facings on Saxon troops are different design than that of Austrians. As you can see with the hat design, they wear a cockade, instead of a plume and hat plate (both of which are Saxon designs)
Once again, the light blue pants are a uniform choice made by the Austrians to designate Hungarian units.

Been here since I was in 6th grade (2017) and these NTW vids have always been my favorite. Especially the WWI battles those were legendary. Now I’ve graduated high school I still come back and watch these. Thanks for being a huge part of my childhood and I can’t wait until you hit 1 million :)

NTW3 has such incredible preludes to the battle. The skirmishing and scouting change the entire feel of the gameplay.

What a final charge, like in the old days of the 17th century and the wars against Louis XIV; it's great to see Spanish and English armies defending the Dutch from a French invasion; although instead of an Austrian army, there is a Russian one, a good change if we take into account the history of defeats that Austria had against Napoleon. XD

I greatly enjoy your commentary and do not want to disrespect the players involved, but it would be really fun if showcased some of the more competitive players and battles of NTW3.
For example, there are some crazy tournament battles out there in which both teams are top notch and the mod really shines. Clan battles in general are usually more fast-paced and aggressive.

Hey Apollo, suggestion for future vids. Can you maybe show the unit cards for each army? I'm tryna get into more competitive NTW3 and am trying to learn the army comp meta. Or maybe do after each group (infantry, artillery, cav) let us know the total of each? Say like he's taking 4 cav, 11 infantry, 4 artillery and the genny. Would really help us newer comp players a lot 🤷♂️

I am from the Netherlands and unlike what most people think, we do have hills. But the provinces of Noord Holland, Zuid Holland, Groningen, Friesland, Flevoland, Zeeland and Drenthe mostly don't have hills at all or not many, but Gelderland, Utrecht, Noord-Brabant (at least the eastern part) and Limburg do have hills (especially Limburg which has the highest point of the country in the southern part). I know that I did not mention Overijssel, but I am not sure if that province has hills or not.

There is a stoty of the Great Sphinx in Egypt having had it's noxe shot off by A French 12 lb using it as target practice. This could of been propagandato get the Egyptian people on side with the British. But if true it implies that at lest some French forces made it close enough to see the Pyramids. Personally I don't believe it happened since the Pyramids and the area they are 8n would hold no strategic value to France.

Ngl one thing I wish Napoleon total war did better was speed I understand that battles gotta be slow and they probably were slow because of cannons but Napoleon is known for divide and conquer and you can’t do that without speed you can’t kill a lone unit of infantry without speed because it’ll just retreat back to formation

And what's the tactic behind having 5+ranks? Always considering the more guns in the first rank the more bullets down range.
It depends on what you need at the time. Though, I mostly play Empire not Napoleon so I'm not entirely sure.
3 ranks I thought was always considered to be the optimum for each rank to fire regular and consistent firing. Each rank in our army fired 3 rounds a minute, slowing a little I suppose after a time.
