    Great idea to focus on one wax at a time. Good information that's easier to absorb than trying to talk about lots of different types of wax at the same time.

    Hi Katie! Thank you for doing this video. I’ve tried using PaddyWaxx several times without much success. I’m a hard presser 😂. I really like the tip about using a sacrificial drill to unload some of the residue! I’m going to try again with an everlasting tip to see if this helps too.

      Hi Kara! I’m glad that this was helpful for you ☺️ I used to be a super hard presser and I had to try to unlearn that habit, haha. The amount of wax that would press out the other end of the pen was unreal! I’ll be so curious to hear if the Everlasting Tip works better for you with PaddyWaxx!

    That popping sounds is LIFE! I actually find that it works better for me when it’s cold. When it’s too warm in my house (I live in TX), there is more residue and it doesn’t last as long. I’ve had to place my PW in the fridge for a few minutes!

    Yay!! I’m so glad you’re doing this series. 💜
    I exclusively use PaddyWaxx right now. Super sticky for squares, regular scented for rounds. I have noticed improvement warming up my PaddyWaxx as far as residue goes, but it also depends on humidity and moisture for me. If it’s too humid, there’s a crazy amount of residue. One day I may try multiplacing again (today is not that day though) so thanks for the heads up. It looked like a pain to load so I know to avoid trying PaddyWaxx for that, at least the bricks.

    I use the generic wax since i am new to DP. I use 2 to 3 wax squares and when its getting holey 😅 i roll them together with a glass bottle and flatten it like a pasta sheet to make the wax last longer. I usually use a batch of reflattened wax to 3 snack sized wips. I wonder if i am too cheap and this is not a done thing 😂

    Hi, I am one of the ones frustrated with the paddy wax. Just by one for my and my hubby. I try the plastic tips and it wasn’t working so I buy the long lasting tip from amazon and I use the tip that have like an angle. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ omg I can’t get it to work. I love the smell and that is big so I don’t lose it easily however I try loading in and angle (scrapping in on the block) no work. Dip the tip on it don’t work. Push it with my fingers it doesn’t work. I can even make it to click like yours does. I press very gentle, medium pressure, hard an nothing . I just give up!! Watch a couple of videos and all say the same things so I guess am the problem. I will keep it beside me just for the smell of it.

    Plus I just have to add... If anyone has an issue with a particular youtube video- then don't watch it. It's that simple. I specifically heard Katie say this was not her own idea and that many people have covered waxes. I personally cannot even remember who the first person I WATCHED talk about wax was, much less the first person who claims it was their idea on all of youtube.
    No need to be mean, the world we live in has enough of that. Simply move on.

    • @DiamondsandWashi
      @DiamondsandWashi  Před 3 lety +8

      Hi Carrie! I'm flattered you created an account just to comment. Forgive me for copy and pasting what I also wrote to another commenter.
      I value integrity and authenticity highly, so I was taking time to puzzle through what you shared, and do a little digging. I'm sorry for the pile-on from my friends and followers - it comes from a place of them knowing my heart and my values well. I shared a WIP & Chat last night with more detailed thoughts, but I'll try to condense it down here, too.
      It took me a bit to figure out which idea you were saying I'd stolen. I'm far from the first person to review, share tips/tricks, unbox, etc. PaddyWaxx or any of the alternative waxes. And of course I'm not the first to do so in a series-style format or a less formal one. So, I'm guessing it was the "Wax Wednesday" label, though when I searched for that on CZcams yesterday, any number of videos from various creators (diamond painting and otherwise) came up. I also finally found the channel I'm guessing you're referring to.
      To be clear, I thought of putting "Wax Wednesday" in my title because it's short, alliterative, and fits neatly with a day of the week. There are any number of alliterative labels about various common crafting things (WIP/Washi Wednesday, Floss Friday, Stash Saturday, Mail Haul Monday, etc), right? I think of those as fairly ubiquitous. If you were to look at my IG feed, on Wednesdays you'll even see that I always have hashtags for WIPWednesday, WashiWednesday, and WaxWednesday.
      When it comes to crafting, I don't know that anyone has a monopoly on concepts or series/playlists like unboxings, post reviews, how-tos, etc. We all bring something different to the table, and I value hearing perspectives and ideas from a wide variety of creators, since we all have different approaches and preferences as far as how we diamond paint. And if the "stolen idea" was a video title that honestly seems as common and universal as any of the other alliterations I mentioned above, I'll still apologize for that. It wasn't even remotely intentional, since I wasn't even aware of the channel beforehand. I'm the very first person to give credit to others, I'm never shy about sharing other channels/IG accounts, and I love to encourage and build up fellow crafters. And at least for me, I don't find videos engaging for sake of the titles - I'm here for the content.
      I'm confident in my character, my integrity, and my morals. I wish you the best.
