hey man! I'm glad you made a dedicated video on this, to be honest the first time I noticed the spinning Spur on the 2.5 classic model I was baffled, lol. There is almost no info on this "gear protection" feature online. ONly way to overcome the jerkiness upon acceleration is just to accelerate faster, otherwise there is nothing you can do. I also noticed on all my older 2.5 models the SPUR is almost always slightly crooked as it spins on the shaft. Doesn't damage it, but just surprising to see.
Thanks I agree when I was told it wasn’t supposed to spin I looked everywhere to see why mine was spinning and noticed that it has to spin to fling the inside weights and then noticed the 3.3 was way different..I’d love to see you do a video on this as you know them way better then I do , I just wanted to get the basic information out there so I would get the information out to those asking me to fix something that’s not broken from what I’ve learned..glad I had a chance to see both in front of me as I’m learning more everyday I tinker with them ..thanks for all the help as I’ve watched a lot of your old videos for this information as well 👍👍
14.9!! Come on guys spread the word. Let's get Earl to 15K subscribers. He has a beautiful Limitless up for grabs. I want that Limitless so bad I can't see straight. Earl remember I'll take care of my own shipping. lol.
Watching your Nitro series, it’s obvious Nitro RCs are more of a hands on, attention to details over the Electric RCs. For me I find Nitro more entertaining to watch but Electric is more my cup of tea. Enjoying the series. 👍💯
Hope you're starting to feel better🙏 My wife & I are recovering from C-19 for the 2nd time . I did wonder why that was spinning. Great video , thanks for all the tips 👍
@@earlmoorhead5555 They are weak from 1980 or the 90’s whenever they were made. That never changed The 2.5 is what the rod is spec to not the 3.3 The extra power eats up the rods fast I split them down the Center just like what is said to happen to them. Anyways there won’t be a lot of them rods being made so I would jump on it if I were you. There is a order happening right now and I hear it may be his last time doing this.
Ive learned through the years of having a 2.5 t maxx that it is best to lower the idle as much as possible and when you shift to reverse or forward blip the throttle a little, when it drops below idle hit the switch. It should shift much easier
Doesn’t act up till I try and stop then surging two or three times and stops idles with no issues then I drive and everytime I hit the brakes it surges a couple of times and then it’s fine can’t lower the idle any more and as I’ve seen it’s everyone of them 💯💯
Is there a way to reach out to you by email? I had some questions about a few products from game changer that I'm wanting to get but am unsure of what it is I need. I've been to his ebay store and there are many options. I know what I want or what it is I'm trying to do but don't know which products I need to get me there. Thanks

Thanks 🙏
great video Earl thanks for explaining the transmission differences I was wondering why that was spinning while it was sitting they're idling
Yes many were telling me to lower the idle to stop it from spinning but I noticed it was way different then the new 3.3 👍👍
Sweet video as per usual, your almost 15k!

Can't wait to see more run videos of these trucks! Hope you're feeling better!! 💯 I like the way they sound ripping up and down between the buildings!

Thanks 🙏 definitely a tough recovery but I get up everyday and fight 👍👍
thanks for describing the older centrifugal style...explains a lot for a first timer to t-maxx
Good info. I’ve lived in similar communities and it wasn’t my favorite. Now my closest neighbor is 1/4 mile away, I like some space. 😆
Awesome rc's and great information on the clutches, have a great Friday and weekend brother, hope you are feeling better.
Thanks
Thanks for the detailed explanation. That makes a lot of sense now
Hope you're starting to feel better🙏 My wife & I are recovering from C-19 for the 2nd time . I did wonder why that was spinning. Great video , thanks for all the tips 👍
Thanks 🙏 c19 is definitely no joke 💯
Hope you start feeling better brother!

Nice looking trucks, when you feel better, I think you need to get them dirty 🤔😆😆😆👍👍👊
Yep
the original T maxx always does that clink clunk.
Yes
I’m loving it!!👍😁🤘
another great learning video!!
That 3.3 sounds so good nothing like the 2.5i have😳
Definitely easier to run then your 2.5 many changes from what I see 👍👍
Interesting difference
Duct tape, zippy ties, five dollars, and raw metal! 🤘😎🤘
😂
You hear about the RB mods connecting rod for these engines. There a must for engine longevity I’ve heard good things. 😎🤘
I hear the newer 2.5 and 3.3 rods are weak 👍

Working on it for sure hopefully I can get out this weekend need that fresh air 👍👍
Good info, I was wondering why mine was different.
Love the tmaxx too
Nice
Earl Earl your intro is So funny
Thanks 🙏 just need a laugh 😜😜
guess you have to decide if you want reverse or more durability in the tranny. I would probably chose reverse.
told you before bro buy a 3.3 transmission and put it in the classis u might need to change the output shaft before installing it
Traxxas nitro catch. alot slack , that truck seems pretty user friendly for a nitro . I wouldn't mind owning a nitro revo
Bingo that's your problem, your idle is too high and it's engaging the tranny but the 2.5 should have had later stall than the .15, design flaw
Doesn’t act up till I try and stop then surging two or three times and stops idles with no issues then I drive and everytime I hit the brakes it surges a couple of times and then it’s fine can’t lower the idle any more and as I’ve seen it’s everyone of them 💯💯

so why is the wheels still spinning

Can i ask what fuel you perfer
i know not post to leave fuel in the tank for storage BUT is it post to evaporate over months
Normally turns to gel and plugs up everything
@@earlmoorhead5555 it's not doing that though thanks
Let it rip baby 👶 😢
