    • @NitroRCNerds
      @NitroRCNerds Před 5 lety

      ColejgH Traxxas is a hair above HSP (Exceed/RedCat) those are facts. I’m not hating on Traxxas, but they are. not “hobby grade” (certainly not the nitro kits). I’m sure some of you are blowing a gasket now, but believe me I would give me left to have you follow my WORST hobby grade nitro with your BEST Traxxas nitro. I bet that Traxxas would not last a tank doing what hobby grade do.
      Again, not hating on Traxxas, but they aren’t “all that” like their owners tend to think.

    • @ELValenin
      @ELValenin Před 5 lety

      @growlingbehemoth yup, if you watch Bashing videos Traxxas definitely breaks faster than other brands. That and price is the reason I got an arrma kraton! And wow, even tho I only have a 4s lipo it is incredibly fast and durable, couple of bad landings from 1-2m jumps and still running like nothing ever happened!

    55 year old man here and i been in rc cars for 30 years now but stopped running them 3 years ago due to health issues now. Watching this brought back so many fun memories for me when i used to bash n race with local friends who were into it.I still have my 2005 revo 3.3 and old ofna blazer associated b2 buggy and a cen gst 7.7. Its all been sitting for a long longgggg time now and when i last run rc i was into the 4x4 slash for bashing or racing with friends. Although you sold everything off i wanted to thank you for making this video for it has brought me back in time when i was a nitro head and would run rc every single day for years despite the weather sun,,,heat,,,cold ,,,snow we were out there rcing our nitros! Here i am an old man now with my same old toys just sitting around.If i were to start up a nitro now my neighbors would prolly give me dirty looks and be thinking to themselves,,,its time to grow up old man and stop playing with them noisey toys. Seems no matter what these days that people don't like seeing others have enjoyment in things and times have surely changed. I see you aee into real cars now and racing. Anyhow thanks for invigorating me about my past passion them rc cars and i lived,,slept,,,ate,,,worked rc cars for amols a straight 30 years. Thanks from this old man.Tim

    Happy I found this video. I just picked up what appears to be a model 4909 used from someone who got it at an estate sale and knows nothing about RC. My knowledge of the hobby, a nitro is limited, but this will be great to help me refresh everything and bring this back to life. It has the 3.3 engine as well as reverse. Already making a list of parts that are visibly worn. Can’t wait to sit down at the bench and tear this thing down and get it cleaned up and put back together! I will use this video as a guideline to assist me, thank you so much. It’s great to be able to come across older videos as the used RC market has so much to offer. But with older equipment, it’s harder to find the proper support from manufacturers.

    I found your video the other day and was envious of you still having your Traxxas trucks.
    I sold mine long time ago,
    However my best friend sent me a text with a picture of his Revo 2.5R and Tmaxx 2.5 and said to me.
    ""You want them? Come take them free""
    Legit I haven't said a word to anyone about it and the opportunity to own a couple of Traxxas' . I couldn't pass it up.
    I'm working on the Revo as the Tmaxx needs a transmission
    Same as yours I need to replace the boots on the drive shafts and the carb
    The engine I've freed up with sea foam and has good compression with the GP out. There's even a brand new GP in the box from Traxxas.
    Can't wait to get them running.
    Thanks for digging up your Tmaxx ~

    still following you Nick!! Crazy how long it's been, I remember back in the day watching your vids wishing I could edit vids just as good as you did, also buying parts from you back when you did the ebay thing. But just like you I grew up and started building a real car haha, kinda wishing I didn't sell my s-maxx though, seeing this video is making me really consider getting back into it. Hope all is well man! - Ivan

    Nitro is more interesting for me....working on the car makes it more of a hobby.....I also prefere to hear a real combustible engine,and the way it responds to sound pitch.....smoke....smell....etc... makes it more exciting for me...also no power fade, and longer running times.
    I like my electric cars to.....they are less hassle, and easy to get ready for a quick bash...not as much fun overall for me..but much more convenient...not so messy as Nitro...and less to carry when out in the field...so to speak.
    Hobbyist since 1979.
    Ps...My Hpi Savage SS 2005, Is still running perfectly,with the original engine..
    Thanks for your insightful uploads!

      Nitro is the best way to go if you like to work on your RC more than drive it. Now that brushless and lipo are so cheap, nitro is more a novelty than anything.

    since i was a kid and a pawn shop left a Traxxas demo video in a dvd player i bought from them, i have been absolutely in love with nitro RC.. And before that even, back when "rc" cars had a wire attached from the car to the remote (yeah, i know thats not rc), i have been in love with the rc world.. that was back in the very early 90's. I could never afford a high end rc car, and could definitely not even afford parts of a nitro rc car, but the love is there nonetheless. I just bought axles and a bad ass 60 amp esc and bad ass 4370kv motor and im gonna build my own completely custom rc car. one part at a time. adulting sucks and bills are always there to take your money, but im working towards it. This is an awesome video. I'm super stoked for you that you were able to hold on to all your old rc gear and that you made this video. It makes me happy to see people doing things they love. Even if adulthood Limits our time and money. We're all big kids at heart and i Love the love you clearly have for the craft. Super awesome video. i just found this channel but ill be binge watching all your videos today on my day off. Good shit man. Thumbs up!!

    I just pulled my Traxxas Summit out of storage a couple of weeks ago. It had been there for over 7 years. I had no idea what shape it would be in but to my surprise, it wasn’t bad at all. A couple of the rubber boots on the axles dried up and cracked but that was about it. I actually got a charge in my original Traxxas nimh batteries to test it but they heated up and died fast. I replaced the esc to run a new set of lipos and gave it a run today. It’s like in never stopped running and ran better than ever for an hour. Traxxas knows how to build them. Here’s to coming out of retirement. 👍🏻🇺🇸

    I was 9 years old when my uncle who was into rcs showed me ur videos of your tmaxx. He had a Tamiya Terra Crusher which is kinda like the tmaxx rival. And he used to play with it a lot but it started bogging and I started to get busy with school so we ended up putting it in the storage room
    I'm 16 now. My uncle recently passed away just a month ago and he left all of his old rcs with me which I still maintain to this day. Though I haven't started the old crusher yet since I dont have fuel and the old gas is probably like dead and I have a feeling the engine is prob busted and I dont know anything about nitro vehicles. So if any of yalls can help much wouod be apreciated
    Seeing your video just made me want to get it started for my uncle. Thanks man

    I watched a bunch of your videos back in the day, recognized a lot of the footage from the beginning of this video. I've had an old T Maxx for a long time. When I was watching your videos, I bought a used T Maxx for my son off Ebay, turned out to be a complete wreck. We fixed almost everything in it, then found that the engine was just worn out, and both trucks have sat since then.
    We literally just pulled the two trucks out a couple of days ago, tore the 3.3 out of his, which we will turn in for a new 3.3, and tore an even older 1.5 out of another truck which we will also turn in for a 3.3 which will replace the 2.5 in my truck. Hope to have them both up and going by spring.

    Great video bud. One thing that you did that I didn't do is when I retired my MGTs and my other nitro cars I left mine in the house and not in the garage because that heat in that garage will DRY and CRACK all your rubber and plastic components. One big mistake I made was that I didn't drain my fuel and install after run oil in them so now they've been sitting up with fuel in there engine and the tank for the last 6 to 7 years and I can't turn my engines. I'm gonna have to do like you and take the engine out and break it loose. Thumbs up on your video bud. 👍

    I have a Traxxas T Maxx 3.3 also. I've run about a gallon of nitro through it over the years..and it still runs like a raped ape. I keep it tuned and maintained perfectly. Have a new Traxxas body on it..definitely should've bought that body when I bought the truck and kept the stock body nice. Even the best Traxxas body still isn't as nice as the stock ones. I've replaced and upgraded almost everything. But a couple years ago I started borrowing my buddies brushless E Revo. I do all the maintenance on his two t maxx 3.3's so he lets me use his revo. After having reverse and more power, I stopped ripping my T Maxx. Having reverse is just so nice, and that revo is a ridiculously awesome truck! However...hearing you rip that 3.3 made my heart race a little! The sounds, the smells of the nitro trucks is the best! I love Traxxas trucks!! I just noticed the Hoss...I might have to look into that one!
    Thank you for the videos! And thank you for stopping that music over your narration..that was horrible.
